Chapter 1: Awakening

Blinding sunlight seared my vision, forcing my eyes shut as if I had spent years in complete darkness. Slowly, I blinked, allowing my sight to adjust to the overwhelming brightness. When I finally took in my surroundings, an endless sea of grass stretched in every direction, swaying gently under the warm breeze.

"Where... am I?" The question echoed in my mind, my thoughts tangled in confusion.

Before I could make sense of anything, a translucent screen materialized in front of me. A hollow, digital voice rang out, mechanical yet eerily clear.

"Status window activated."

I jolted in shock, barely suppressing a scream. A status window? Like in a video game?

Tentatively, I reached out, attempting to tap the floating screen, but my fingers passed through it like mist.

"Before displaying stats, host must first input a name."

I froze. Input a name? What kind of situation was this? Was I really inside a game?

"If it's asking for a name, then just use my real one," I thought.

"Shiro Kurosawa has been registered. Stats will now be displayed."

The screen flickered, and a list of information appeared before me:
