Chapter 14:

Burn the Sky, Shatter the Earth!

Clash of Gods

Kaminari's eyes widened in horror, the devastation reflected vividly in their depths. “What the hell is happening here?”

A villager, trembling and pale, stared at the chaos unfolding around them. “It's—it's them!” he stammered, fear gripping his voice. “RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!”

A demon beast landed violently from the sky, unleashing torrents of fire from its gaping jaws, engulfing Sahara village in merciless flames. Soldiers of the Delta Army stormed ruthlessly through the burning streets, laughing cruelly as they dragged villagers by their hair, branding and beating them until their flesh blistered and split. Children's anguished shrieks filled the air as their parents were executed before their eyes, blood staining the scorched earth. Kaminari stood rooted, trembling with horror and fury.

“It's them?” he muttered, voice shaking. “Then I'll have to—” He surged forward, his voice filled with determination, “—save them!”

Sumire quickly grabbed Kaminari’s wrist, stopping him. “Don't let your emotions control you, Kaminari-kun. If anyone escapes and informs Kuroshin, we're finished.”

“I CAN'T JUST SIT HERE AND WATCH INNOCENTS DIE!” Kaminari exploded furiously. “Look around! See the fear in their eyes, hear their cries, witness the flames devouring their homes! How can you stay calm?”

Sumire’s heart clenched as anguished screams echoed around them, the sickening crack of bones and splintering wood creating a horrifying symphony. A Delta soldier, armored and ruthless, dragged a woman by her hair through the dirt, sneering as she clawed helplessly at the earth.

“Where did you hide him?” the soldier growled, pressing a boot mercilessly onto the woman's back. “That traitor, he's alive!”

“I—I don't know anything!” she pleaded desperately before he coldly knocked her unconscious.

Nearby, a terrified child shrieked inside a burning hut. A soldier broke down the door and yanked him out roughly.

“You want your mother? Here, I'll reunite you!” he sneered maliciously, hurling the sobbing child back into the roaring flames, where his anguished screams were abruptly silenced amidst the crackling fire.

Sumire’s expression hardened. She slowly released Kaminari’s wrist. “Do as you please,” she said coldly. “Wipe them all out.”

With his head lowered, Kaminari stepped forward. A terrified villager stumbled towards him, falling at his feet, clutching his legs desperately. “Please, young man, save me! Stop them!”

A soldier approached, a malicious grin spread across his face as he brandished his axe. “You think that weakling can save you? You're risking his life too.”

Kaminari remained motionless, face lowered, unmoving.

“What’s wrong? Too scared?” the soldier mocked, raising his axe to strike.

Suddenly, an overwhelming aura burst forth from Kaminari, crimson energy crackling with electricity. The immense force hurled the soldier back, incinerating him instantly.

“What kind of cheap trick was that?” another soldier snarled. “Trying to rebel?”

Kaminari slowly lifted his head, eyes glowing fiercely beneath strands of dark hair. “Your sins cannot be forgiven.”

Kenzo cautiously observed the scene, peeking out carefully from behind a wall, while Sumire stood protectively alongside Ubume, who tightly clutched her child.

“I've never sensed such a furious aura from him before,” Sumire whispered in awe. “He’s like a beast unleashed.”

Kaminari's pace quickened, his voice low and deadly. “This isn't just a raid anymore. THIS IS WAR!” Crimson energy enveloped his body. “Blood reforge!”

Kenzo gasped, eyes wide. “Blood aura? Impossible!”

“Blood creation arts!” Kaminari commanded, manifesting a crimson sword in his grip. He leaped toward the beast, spinning acrobatically mid-air. “Gentle Slash Wave!” he roared, slicing cleanly through one of the creature’s four wings.

The soldiers stood frozen, disbelief etched on their faces. “WHAT? One shot?”

The beast roared fiercely, attempting to create confusion with rapid, blurred afterimages.

“You choose the hard way,” Kaminari declared coldly. He landed gracefully, sword positioned confidently. “Zen Hoko Surrassho!” Spinning rapidly, he unleashed a circular wave, eradicating the beast and its illusions instantly.

Shock rippled through the Delta forces. “He killed the beast effortlessly! What is he?”

“Don't panic!” another shouted desperately. “He's alone, and we’re six hundred, ATTACK!”

Kenzo watched, hope illuminating his features. “Brave and fearless... truly magnificent—the warrior of blood.”

Kaminari charged through the army, cutting down enemies relentlessly. Villagers watched astonished.

“He’s facing the entire Delta Army alone!” one exclaimed.

“How can someone possess such power?” another asked incredulously.

A third villager smiled, newfound hope blossoming. “This nation still has a chance! HAIL TO THE NAMELESS WARRIOR!” The villagers began chanting fervently, "SAVIOR! SAVIOR! SAVIOR!" their voices rising as one.

Kaminari, soaked in blood and battle fury, faced a bearded soldier wielding a massive butcher’s knife. “You're the merciless demon who burned that child,” he seethed, his aura breaking the enemy's weapon effortlessly. He cast the man into the fire, vengeance fulfilled.

A desperate cry pierced through the chaos. “BROTHER!”

Kaminari’s attention snapped toward Akio, blood streaming down the boy’s face as a soldier cruelly held him aloft by his neck. Kaminari roared with primal fury, the earth quaking violently beneath his rage.

The soldier trembled, fear gripping his heart. “Those eyes... Death... wrong person—”

Kaminari’s fist crushed through the man’s face before he finished speaking. He caught Akio tenderly as the boy fell unconscious.

A sudden pain surged through Kaminari—a sword had pierced his liver. Vomiting blood, Kaminari’s determination hardened. “Blood stitching!” he shouted desperately, but his wound remained open, blood seeping heavily. Strength failing, he fell to his knees, gasping as razor-sharp spikes erupted from the ground, impaling the remaining enemies.

“He’s a monster! How can we defeat him?” soldiers panicked, retreating.

Exhausted, Kaminari collapsed beside Akio. “The first villager to trust me...” he whispered faintly, “I just need a bit of rest.”

“He's unconscious! Finish him now!” a soldier shouted, but a golden beam exploded among them, halting their advance.

Sumire stepped forward, sighing. “Finally resting. I told him to eliminate you all.” She dispatched enemies effortlessly, finishing the fight with a luminous attack, leaving only four survivors.

A villager gasped in awe, “What species are they? Could they challenge Kuroshin-sama?”

Sumire landed gracefully before the terrified survivors. “You’re alive because we need intel.”

Kenzo approached reverently. “They're like Hiroshi himself—fearless and undefeated.”

Sumire asked emotionlessly, "Where is Kuroshin?"

One soldier reluctantly confessed, “Kuroshin’s in Kuroshima Central, the Green Zone.”

Sumire asked, "The Green Zone?"

A minion replied nervously, "Y-Yes, the nation is divided into three zones. First, the Red Zone, which consists of four massive villages where the poor and criminals are condemned to live. Then, the Yellow Zone, made up of eight towns where the country's normal citizens reside. The Yellow Zone also serves as the primary hub for weapon crafting to support the army."

Another minion continued, "Next is the Green Zone—Kuroshima Central, the grandest city in the nation. Only Kuroshin’s elites and the families of his royal army dwell there, basking in wealth and security. It lies at the heart of the country, untouched by the suffering of the outer zones."

Sumire’s smile turned chilling. “Now, your use has ended.” Swiftly, she silenced them.

The trembling minion took a step back, sweat beading down his forehead as his voice wavered.

"W-What do you mean?" he stammered, eyes darting for an escape.

Sumire’s lips curled into a soft, almost serene smile—one that offered no warmth, only inevitability.

In the next instant, a sharp crack echoed through the air. His body went limp before he could even process what had happened.

Blushing slightly, she turned back. “Now, Kaminari—” Her heart skipped as she realized both Kaminari and Akio had vanished.
