Chapter 0:

Prologue hit and miss

Ruins of Avalon (Litrpg)

Two eyes one blue like the ocean and the other golden like the sun stared at the white ceiling.
It had been several days since Sora Ueda got caught up in a truck accident. Her body ached a little less now, but being stuck in this room was still a constant hassle.
She was bored out of her mind.
A creak came from the door as a nurse walked in, this was the usual routine check that happened every morning
She checked the chart, took Sora’s temperature, and gave a small nod before moving on to the IV check.
Nurse: [How are you feeling?]
Sora: [Tired.]
Nurse: [That’s to be expected. You’ve been on bed rest for a while,No need to make that face since you are an awakener you will be out of here soon]
Sora didn’t bother responding. The nurse didn’t seem to mind, finishing up her work without much small talk.
Nurse: [If you need anything, use the call button.]
And with that, she left her alone.
She let out a quiet breath, shifting slightly in bed. Everything still felt stiff. The minutes crawled by, blending together into the same dull routine.
A while later, the door opened again. This time a girl stepped in
A girl with the same age ,same face and same heterochromatic eyes only difference was that one was in hospital dress while the other wore casual clothing
This girl is Sora’s older twin sister Ueda Natsumi
Natsumi: [Hey.]
Sora: [Hey.]
Natsumi pulled up a chair beside the bed, setting her bag on the floor. She looked Sora over, frowning slightly.
Natsumi: [You look like crap.]
Sora: [Feel like it too.]
Natsumi: [Figures. How’s the food here?]
Sora: [Terrible.]
Natsumi: [Thought so.]
Natsumi set a neatly wrapped sandwich on the tray beside Sora’s bed, crossing her arms with a smug look.
Natsumi: [since I am such a nice Onee-chan I brought you a sandwich. You better thank me.]
Sora: [Oh, thank you, oh great and generous Onee-sama.]
Natsumi huffed, clearly satisfied.
Natsumi: [That’s right. You should be grateful]
Leaning back in the chair, Natsumi stretched her arms behind her head, exhaling in mild frustration.
Natsumi: [Mom’s been on my case, you know. Says I have to attend every single day in the academy , for your sake.]
Sora rolled her eyes, unwrapping the sandwich.
Sora: [Sounds like her.]
Natsumi: [You owe me for this.]
Sora: [I already thanked you, didn’t I?]
Sora took a bite and spoke through her mouthful.
Sora: [So...what’s been going on outside?]
Natsumi: [Same old thing... School’s boring. Mom’s been nagging about my grades... Dad’s busy as usual...and oh, and Yoshida-sensei told me to wanted me to tell you to hurry up and get better he's prepared a therapy training course for you]
Sora: [Hurry up and get better, huh? Like I have a say in it.]
Natsumi: [Yeah, well. He means well.]
Sora: [Anything else?]
Natsumi: [Not much. Just… you know, it’s weird not having you around... it’s really quiet without you]
Sora: [Enjoying the peace?]
Natsumi: [Not really it feels off.]
A beat of silence passed. Natsumi reached into her bag.
Natsumi: [Anyway, here.]
She held out a phone.
Sora blinked.
Sora: [Wait, is that—?]
Natsumi: [Your phone. Figured you’d want something to do.]
Sora took it, turning it over in her hands. It looked completely fine.
Sora: [Huh. I thought it’d be wrecked.]
Natsumi: [Yeah. But nope, works fine. Lucky, I guess.]
Sora powered it on. The screen lit up normally. Everything was still there—contacts, messages, apps.
Sora: [Weird.]
Natsumi: [Yeah. But whatever. At least you won’t die of boredom now.]
She stretched, grabbing her bag.
Natsumi: [I’ll be back tomorrow. Don’t rot away in here, okay?]
Sora: [No promises.]
Natsumi rolled her eyes and headed for the door.
Sora watched her go before glancing back at the phone.
Her thumb hovered over one of the apps.
It’s been so long since she played a game.
She tapped it.
The screen flickered.
And in the blink of an eye, everything changed.
