Chapter 522:
Rose Blumen - Thematic - Getting lost while travelling is one thing. Getting lost while homecoming is different. I would grow and evolve. Until then... As an unexpected friend would tell me, many years later: There is chaos in life, And we both like it.
(Rose)
The real mountain peaks are still stretched ahead and away. We’re still in areas where forests can grow. Our route shouldn’t require us to head too deep into the desert summits. It is still just Blume’s memory and a compass that guide us. We follow the old roads a little haphazardly.
B - Where shall we go next?
R - We’ll figure it out as we walk there.
Blume and I laugh gently together. Nightmare didn’t get it. It’s a joke just between us two.
Nightmare still cracks a creepy smirk. The orb of condensed blood attached to her backpack pulsates as she does.
Who knows what is she doing in there.
Blume only grows flowers along my chest, and back of my shoulders, and slithering vines inside.
Still, the limit to what the two of them could create together is clouded by the distance. It’s too immense...
We discuss it while we rest, during lunch or over dinner.
Nightmare eats her meat voraciously.
M - My idea will wait a little longer. I don’t have yet enough...
R - What could you create, with Blume’s help? What’s the most wondrous lifeform you could create?
Nightmare ponders. Sanïssia was her masterwork, hard to overcome.
Something even bigger?
Actually, her imagination may not be able to stretch a lot more than mine right now. If only Bleue was here...
There are times like that where I miss her gentle insanity.
She would dream of things I can’t
Think of in a lifetime. I try though. I see the haze. As I grew, I pushed its boundaries much further away here, but it’s still there. The limits of my mind.
I step into the haze and my mind goes blank, trying to picture it. Something imaginative.
What would Bleue imagine? What could be the most wondrous lifeform they could create?
~
It’s easy to just tweak things, details. Make it bigger. Much bigger.
A snake long enough to circle the world. That would be a wonder, but that’s not enough imaginative.
We could think of any aptitude from other animals and plants to give that creature.
Make it able to live of just sunlight and sea water.
We could give extraordinary reproductive abilities, making it the dominant species on Earth in a few years. Something able to restart civilisation with a booster.
All that is still pale... My ideas would be horrendous if anything remotely close where to happen even. But they are still not imaginative enough, from what Bleue would have been able to consider. Or father...
I probably have passed out, but I still try, to imagine something. Something great. Something that would make me feel like I was discovering the world again...
The winged shape of Sanïssia remains in my mind, and I don’t know what to make of it. She was an impressive sight.
Bigger? No... Even if it grew the size of the solar system, it would still lack something.
Smaller... Wider... Multiplied... No... None of these thoughts are good.
It takes a long frustrating time before something begins to move efficiently in me.
Different.
Make the lifeform different.
Aquatic? No... Even further.
I begin to walk on this trail of thoughts where I smell the seed of an interesting idea.
Make it more vaporous.
In a completely foreign environment...
The way seeds propagate nature on fertile soil?
Further...
The way spores and bacteria, moulds, colonise inorganic worlds?
Further... Much further...
~
I see dark green clouds. Brown vaporous seas. An unthinkable storm from heavens to hells.
The sky and oceans melt into another and into an unending dark storm. Something beyond human scale.
The new Sanïssia looks very different and still every bit the same in shape. It flies through this unending space that is both skies and oceans, always tumultuous.
The wings span kilometres, filtrating gazes, and creating lights.
As it flows, spores are released and scattered, soon lost in the unending storm everywhere around.
It disappears, flying aimlessly, slowly changing something.
It would take a trillion of things like it a few millions of years to actually bring a real change into that environment...
It’s a world without end, without land. With only the unending storm on that planetary vaporous ocean.
But with the first spore alive, it has begun... And life could eventually thrive, even out there... Out there.
~
I woke up looking at the stars, lost in thoughts.
Blume is somehow asleep again, I can feel it. Nightmare is dozing off in her beddings.
I talk to her. She listens.
R - Jupiter. The Jovian atmosphere.
N - Hm...
R - You could create a lifeform slowly able to turn even that planet, into a new Earth, where all kinds of lives could thrive. A different, very different kind of life of course.
I ramble on over that dream. Their creation initiating an insanely long process of transforming Jupiter into a planet hosting all sorts of lives. Starting with some creatures turning the atmospheric elements into more viable organic compounds. Creating gradually dusts, and soils.
Nightmare opened her eyes. She’s processing the thoughts.
N - That’s... A very ambitious dream you just had, Rose.
R - The most wondrous one I could get. Do you think it would be possible?
N - Well, I don’t see anything that would theoretically make it strictly impossible, at the very least... But that would be an insane challenge, even for us.
I smile so much it hurts my cheeks.
Something challenging even for them. But not ruled out entirely with nowadays reality.
R - We can dream about it again later. Sweet dreams Night...
N - Hm... Sweet dreams Rose.
As I fall asleep again, I’m grinning blissfully, knowing all too well that Nightmare will now be having dreams about the stars.
Sweet dreams sister Night...
