Chapter 26:
Stray Stories and Purposeless Poetry
there comes a time
when you just forget to look
up.
when you spend so much trying
to make your life
better
that you just
forget to see the sky—the
light blue, wisps of white, the glow
of golden gleam that beckons you forth, saying,
stop.
rest.
feel the breeze; don’t
forget to breathe. watch the sun
fall.
because there comes a time
when you just forget to look
up
to acknowledge all the hard work
you’ve already done.
