Chapter 8:

Beyster Island : New Darkness

Beyblade : Dark Side of Emperor

Days had passed. Since the Tower Tournament, Ryuga and Kenta had traversed forest paths, riverbanks, and ancient ruins, enduring a journey filled with intense training. Ryuga had pushed Kenta against L-Drago's ruthless strikes, teaching him to harness strength through his anger. Kenta’s hair had started showing black strands, his arms had grown muscular, and his posture had become more upright. His eyes had sharpened, his voice had become harsher, and he had developed a determined and fiery character—yet his goal of helping Gingka remained steadfast.

When they arrived at Beyster Island, the tournament had already begun. The island had turned into a racecourse filled with control points—each Blader advancing by battling opponents at designated spots. The harbor was crowded with boats, and the atmosphere was buzzing with noise. Kenta, hidden under a hat and vest, trailed just a few steps behind Ryuga. Ryuga scanned the crowd, spotting Gingka, Madoka, Kyoya, and the others. A wild smile spread across his lips.

“Am I supposed to deal with this pathetic, weak crowd?!” he roared, his voice threatening. “I have no business with these so-called legendary Bladers!” With slow steps, he approached one of the control points marked by the starting bell.

Kenta also saw Gingka, his heart racing. He thought to himself: Gingka... you're here! I need to pull Ryuga towards us! But not caring like Ryuga, he lowered his hat and veered off in a different direction. The island rang with the sounds of metal clashes and terrified screams.

When Ryuga reached the first control point of the tournament, a wave of fear began to spread. At the first spot, four Bladers—each armed with ordinary Beyblades—dared to challenge him. Ryuga held L-Drago in his hand, its black-purple aura surrounding him.

"Are these pathetic flies going to challenge me?!" he shouted, his voice shaking the forest.

L-Drago’s aura exploded—like an invisible hurricane, the energy it emitted formed the Dark Dragon, which stopped all four Beyblades at once. The Bladers backed away in fear, one of them collapsing.

“This is satanic power!” one of them screamed, trembling.

Ryuga yelled, “You’re not worth crushing, get lost!” His eyes glowed with rage.

At the second control point, a powerful Blader—a large man wielding a massive hammer Beyblade—stood in his path.

“I’m going to defeat you, Ryuga!” he cried, but Ryuga’s face darkened.

“Are you really challenging me, a pile of trash?!” he hissed, his voice savage.

He raised L-Drago in his hand, and the aura erupted again—his opponent’s Beyblade trembled and crashed to the ground, its body cracking.

The man took a step back in fear, “Please... let me go!” he pleaded.

Ryuga sneered, “The weak beg, but I don’t forgive!” His steps were threatening as he advanced.

By the third control point, Ryuga’s name had turned into fearful whispers. Bladers were running, shouting The Dragon is coming!” Some of them dropped their Beyblades in panic.

When Ryuga reached the fourth control point, he encountered King—just like in the anime, with long yellow hair, arrogant, energetic, and holding Variares. Around them were fallen trees and cracked stones. King sized up Ryuga, grinning.

“Hey, dark guy! You must be the Ryuga they talk about. You look strong, but you have no chance against my Variares! Because I’m number one!” he said, his voice cheerful yet challenging.

Ryuga narrowed his eyes and let out an angry laugh.

“Number one, huh? Then let me show you what the real number one looks like by smashing your pathetic toy Beyblade!” he roared, his voice shaking the forest. “This land will be your grave!” He placed L-Drago on the launcher, his fingers trembling with fury.

King prepared Variares, “Challenging the king, huh? Then show me!” he said, his eyes sparkling.

“Three, two, one, go!” they shouted as they launched their Beyblades.

L-Drago landed on the ground, its black-purple hurricane bending the trees, leaving deep gouges on one of them. Variares, spinning like a red flame, charged toward L-Drago, fast and aggressive. Ryuga commanded,

“Show him the real number one, L-Drago!” his voice full of wild threat.

L-Drago’s rotation changed, its sharp edges hitting Variares’ body—sparks flew into the air, and a crack formed in the ground. Variares wobbled, but King recovered,

“Variares, go nowww!” he shouted, his voice full of determination.

Variare spun back and hit L-Drago from the side—a thin crack appeared on the black Beyblade’s body, and sparks flew to the trees.

Ryuga gritted his teeth, “Is this your pathetic royal move?!” he hissed, his voice furious. “L-Drago, destroy this fool!”

L-Drago accelerated, forcing Variares into a head-to-head clash. The two Beyblades collided, metal grinding against metal, sparks flew into the air—a nearby rock split in two. Variares slowed down,

King furrowed his brow, “It’s not over! Variares, finish him!” he shouted. Variares sped up for a moment and struck L-Drago’s edge— the black Beyblade staggered slightly.

Ryuga’s rage exploded. “You’re going to challenge me with this pathetic effort, huh?! L-Drago!!!” he screamed, his voice echoing through the forest.

A vortex of energy formed around L-Drago, absorbing the power of Variares’ next strike and adding it to its own, speeding up. King was shocked,

“What?! This can’t be!” he shouted, his eyes wide with disbelief. Ryuga grinned viciously,

“Your end has come, trash! Finish this, L-Drago!” he commanded.

L-Drago's energy exploded, the black-purple hurricane surrounded the checkpoint—branches broke, stones rolled. Variares was struck with full force, flying into the air, hitting a tree and stopping, its body covered in deep scratches.

King collapsed to the ground, breathless. "How... how?!" he muttered, his hands trembling.

Ryuga looked down at him, "A weak fly can't be a king—go play with your number one in the corner, kid!" he hissed, his voice cold and threatening. He took L-Drago in his hand and moved deeper into the forest.

The announcer from the main stage excitedly explained, "Ryuga has won another incredible victory! Even Variares couldn't withstand the power of L-Drago!"

Kenta was walking quickly through the forest, heading towards another checkpoint—thorns scratched his arms, but he didn't care. Gingka noticed a figure with a hat in the crowd, his eyes widening in surprise.

"Is that Kenta?!" he murmured, thinking to himself: I thought he went to Japan... What is he doing here? He quickly chased after him, shouting,

"Kenta, wait!" but Kenta blended into the crowd. Gingka tracked him in the forest—he noticed Kenta's footprints, a leaf he had dropped, and resolutely followed them.

Kenta reached the harbor, hiding on a ship—an old cargo ship that had been designated as a checkpoint for the tournament.

Gingka finally found the ship, breathlessly climbing onto the deck, but he couldn't see Kenta. The ship began to move—it was going to circle the island as a checkpoint.

Gingka reached the battlefield where the ship was, and there he caught Kenta in a corner. "Kenta, it's you!" he said, his voice anxious but determined.

"Why didn't you go to Japan? What are you doing here?! And this... what’s going on with you, Kenta?"

Kenta adjusted his hat and placed Sagittario onto the launcher.

"Gingka..." he said, his voice harsh. "I went after Ryuga—I had to get stronger to help you!" He thought to himself: I chose this path to somehow help you!

Gingka prepared Pegasus, furrowing his brows.

"Were you with Ryuga? Why didn’t you tell us?!" he asked, his voice filled with concern.

Kenta, however, wanted to show what he could do with his new power and new form.

"Let’s let our beyblades talk, Gingka..."

"Three, two, one, let it rip!" they shouted.

Sagittario and Pegasus hit the metal deck of the ship. Sagittario, with its golden body, began spinning rapidly, gaining power from the anger it had learned from Ryuga. Pegasus, like a blue hurricane, charged at Sagittario, landing its first hit and leaving a dent on the deck—sparks flew into the air, and a chain swung.

Kenta shouted, "Sagittario, speed up!" His voice was angry. "Gingka, don't underestimate me—I'm not the old Kenta anymore!"

Sagittario sped up, hitting Pegasus from the side—sparks scattered on the deck, and a board cracked.

Gingka was surprised, "Kenta, this power... from Ryuga?" he asked, his voice filled with curiosity. Pegasus turned and hit Sagittario from above—the deck shook, and a crate slid.

Kenta clenched his teeth, "Yes, but this is for you!" he yelled. "If I bring Ryuga to our side, we can all win!"

Sagittario recovered and hit Pegasus with a heavy blow—the blue beyblade staggered, leaving a scratch on the deck.

Gingka controlled Pegasus, "You don’t have to be with Ryuga!" he said, his voice worried. "Kenta, you can come back to us!"

Pegasus sped up and collided with Sagittario head-on—the deck vibrated, and a mast swayed.

Kenta narrowed his eyes, "Coming back isn’t enough!" he retorted, his voice full of ambition. "I can't give up without making Ryuga take me seriously!"

Sagittario flared with anger, pushing Pegasus back—Pegasus crashed into a crate, and the crate broke.

Gingka furrowed his brows, "This anger... Kenta, how much you've changed!" he said, his voice filled with surprise. "Pegasus, finish Sagittario, gooooo!!"

Pegasus switched to attack mode and sped up, landing consecutive hits on Sagittario—the deck shook, and a board snapped.

Kenta didn’t back down, "Sagittario, now!" he shouted, his voice full of resolve. "With the power I got from Ryuga, I'll surpass you!"

Sagittario sped up with its fury, and Kenta was ready to use his special move. He thought: I've been working on this for a long time. If I can pull off this move, if I can beat Gingka with it... then everything will be just as I want. Kenta prepared for his final attack,

"Come on, Sagittario!!! Now!"

Sagittario opened its claws and soared into the air. Gingka was surprised and realized a powerful attack was coming. He switched Pegasus to balance mode. As Sagittario flew through the air, it ignited, preparing for a new special move. Kenta confidently shouted,

"Sagittarioooo, this is all our power!! Now finish it, here’s the special move: Claw Diveeee!!"

Sagittario, completely engulfed in flames, charged towards Pegasus. But suddenly, it began to wobble. Kenta realized he couldn’t fully control its power and became more determined. He remembered Ryuga's words.

"Strengthen your anger and control it..."

Kenta recalled this. His anger was directed at Ryuga. As long as Ryuga didn't join them, he would remain angry at him. This allowed Kenta to complete his transformation, reaching the dark power. Sagittario’s flames suddenly turned to dark flames. Gingka stared in shock, unable to say anything. Kenta’s aura darkened, completing his dark form. Sagittario’s energy and avatar appeared. The special move stopped wobbling and balanced out as Kenta delivered the final blow.

"Show your anger, Sagittarioooo!!!! Show him the light of darkness now!!!"

Sagittario struck from above, landing the final blow on Pegasus—sending it flying into the air and crashing onto the deck. The ship groaned, starting to break apart—planks scattered into the water, and the two of them fell into the sea.

The announcer exclaimed, "Kenta has defeated Gingka! The battle ended in an incredible way!"

Kenta and Gingka washed up on the shore—the wreckage of the ship was being scattered by the waves. Kenta stood up in his wet clothes, holding Sagittario in his hand. His black hair swayed in the wind, his eyes filled with anger but also determination. Gingka took Pegasus and looked at Kenta, breathing heavily.

"Kenta..." he said, his voice soft but serious. "You went after Ryuga... You want to make him take you seriously, don't you?"

Kenta turned his head. "Yes!" he shouted, his voice firm. "Ryuga’s power is incredible, Gingka! If I bring him to our side, he can help all of us!" He thought to himself: I will be a worthy friend to you... in my own way!

Gingka smiled, "That's why you've changed..." he said, understanding in his voice. "I trust you, Kenta. Keep moving forward to make Ryuga take you seriously—I’m supporting you! However, it seems like you're also trying to control the dark power he controls. Be careful, Kenta..." He stood up and put Pegasus in his pocket.

Kenta was surprised, but a look of determination shone in his eyes. "Thank you, Gingka..." he said, his voice full of ambition. "I’ll make it happen!"

Ryuga, moving forward from the forest checkpoint, held L-Drago in his hand, grinning viciously. "I’ll destroy all the weak bugs on this island—the legendary powers will be mine!" he hissed, his voice threatening. The island echoed with the sounds of battle.
