Ren opened his eyes, and the world around him slowed to a crawl.

The training ground shimmered like liquid starlight. Floating shards of space drifted around him, whispering fragments of lost time.

He stood taller now—his body crackling with dark, flowing energy. A new cloak formed over his shoulders, woven from the void itself, trailing mist that shimmered in blues and purples. His irises were now streaked with silver and violet, like twin galaxies.

Kael stepped forward, nodding with grim approval. “You’ve done it. The chains of the present no longer bind you.”

Ren clenched his fists. The air around him distorted, reality bending subtly as if it now listened to his will.

“Can I go back?” he asked.

Kael’s gaze turned somber. “Yes… but it won’t be the same world. It’s been over a decade on the outside.”

Ren stiffened. “Ten years?”

“Time flows differently here. When you return… you’ll find ruins, silence… and resistance. Few remain. But they need you.”

Ren turned toward the swirling gate behind him—the way back to a world on the edge of annihilation.

“I was too late once,” he said, voice low but steady. “But this time… I am the storm.”

Kael placed a hand on his shoulder. “Remember—your throne is forged in defiance. Let your enemies choke on the shadow of your return.”

With one final breath, Ren stepped into the gate.

In the shattered remains of Haven Citadel, rebel forces cowered in the dark, hunted by Abyssal Wardens.

And above them, Nyx stood, gazing at the heavens.

Her eyes widened.

“…He’s back.”
