Chapter 29:
Fate
The Eclipse Core Arena was once again filled with warriors. The trembling light of the dark sun merged with the mist over the cracked ground, creating an enchanting gloom in the arena. Spectators, still mesmerized by previous battles, awaited eagerly. However, when the third group stepped into the arena this time, instead of a burst of energy or an intimidating aura, a more balanced and organized atmosphere of combat was felt.
A hundred warriors, clad in futuristic armor and equipped with mechanical weapons, stood ready. Yet, this time, no figure stood out with the terrifying resolve of someone like Shade or Flux. Everyone seemed to be stepping into an evenly matched contest.
As the gong sounded, the battlefield was immediately engulfed in chaos. The wide expanse in the center of the arena suddenly filled with explosions, mechanical clashes, and energy waves. Different warriors showcased their skills, trying to eliminate each other. Many relied on their physical strength, as if testing the durability of their armor. Warriors dove from high platforms, attacking with energy-made blades and mechanical fists.
Amidst the clashes, the arena occasionally split into smaller groups, where tactical maneuvers became prominent. No fighter had a special power or overwhelming advantage, making the battle more strategic and prolonged. The audience watched, barely able to contain their excitement over the various skirmishes.
As the fight progressed, the struggles in the arena grew increasingly grueling. Warriors were being eliminated one by one, but no major event drastically altered the arena's fate. The scene was filled with broken mechanical parts and burning armor. The sounds heard were the buzzing of machinery, energy explosions, and echoes of collisions.
As the end of the battle drew near, only a few remained in the arena. Their armor damaged and power sources depleting, the warriors slowly eliminated each other, inching closer to the final outcome. Among the cheers and cries of the spectators, a pivotal moment finally arrived.
Most of the warriors had been taken out, leaving Max and a few others in the arena. Exhaustion was evident in every warrior's movements. Despite the long-standing struggle, Max managed to strategically outmaneuver and disable the others. When the last warrior fell, Max planted his mechanical spear into the ground and took a deep breath.
The spectators captured the moment and cheered once more: "MAX! MAX! MAX!"
Max, with sparks running from his armor and a weary expression, looked at the crowd. Standing alone in the arena, he declared himself the ultimate victor of the third group under the dark sun. The audience celebrated Max's triumph with applause and chants. With the pride of taking one step closer to the Eclipse Core, Max raised his eyes to the crimson sky.
The fourth group began stepping into the arena, and everything was ready.
The cold light of the dark sun accompanied the dark and imposing entrance of the fourth group. Unlike the previous groups, this group stepped into the arena armed with advanced technological weapons. Mechanical armors, laser weapons, and high-energy lightsabers were their deadliest tools. The stage was set for the art of technological warfare to unfold.
When the gong rang, the arena was suddenly enveloped in chaos. The glowing lights of laser weapons filled the arena like a storm. The sound of mechanical armors resonated, and energy waves from high-tech devices caused explosions. The clashes turned into a prolonged war that required strategic intelligence. Each warrior positioned themselves advantageously within the platforms and sheltered areas of the arena.
A warrior attacked their enemies with a laser sniper rifle from a high vantage point. Another group engaged in closer combat with lightsabers, using their speed and agility to overpower opponents. As fearsome technological weapons clashed, the arena's ground transformed into an energy battlefield.
Amid this chaos, two figures began to draw attention. The first, Kaiden, wielding dual lightsabers, advanced toward the arena's center, showcasing his mastery in martial arts. The neon blue light of his twin sabers illuminated the arena, his attacks fast and deadly like a storm. Kaiden skillfully eliminated his enemies with rapid movements.
The second, Saren, wielding a single lightsaber, displayed elegance and lethal precision. Saren's lightsaber, glowing a dark red hue, illuminated the surroundings, and his attacks were executed with surgical accuracy. Moving strategically, Saren identified weaknesses in his opponents and swiftly neutralized them.
These two figures captured all attention. Kaiden and Saren moved as if competing with each other amidst the chaos, eliminating the warriors in the arena one by one.
Finally, only two figures remained in the arena: Kaiden and Saren. The spectators held their breath in anticipation of the duel between these two warriors. The light of the dark sun illuminated the two figures, and the only sounds heard in the arena were their heavy steps and the hum of the lightsabers.
Kaiden, holding his two lightsabers crossed, assumed his battle stance. Saren, calm and determined, lifted his red lightsaber and faced Kaiden. A murmur rose from the spectators, followed by silence.
Kaiden attacked, striking at Saren with the deadly speed of his dual sabers. Saren elegantly defended with his blade, parrying the assault and countering with a move targeting Kaiden's vulnerabilities. The lightsabers clashed, sparks flew, and the resonating hums provided spectators with a breathtaking spectacle.
Kaiden utilized the advantage of his dual sabers, launching strikes from both sides. However, Saren deftly blocked these attacks with his single saber, targeting exposed spots. The two warriors moved around the arena, performing a dazzling display of swordsmanship. The audience watched in awe, their applause filling the arena.
As the duel reached its climax, Kaiden tried to corner his opponent with his twin lightsabers. He swung his neon blue sabers at a stunning speed, constantly pressuring Saren from every direction. However, Saren shifted his strategy. Using his red lightsaber, he skillfully parried Kaiden's attacks while searching for an opening in Kaiden's defense.
Finally, Saren seized an opportunity. With a swift turn of his blade, he disarmed one of Kaiden's blue sabers with a glowing surge. A low absorption sound echoed as Saren's red saber neutralized Kaiden's. Saren faintly smiled, steadying his blade in one hand and neutralizing the other saber with the same technique.
Saren began to radiate an aura of energy absorbed from the sabers. He closed his eyes, as if feeling the energy from the sabers, and finally spoke:
"These sabers are made with uranium. They hold immense power... A supernatural element with the ability to both give and take energy."
As Saren spoke these words, a murmur rose in the arena. Spectators exchanged bewildered glances, hearing about the power of this supernatural element for the first time. Uranium, now legendary, was not only a weapon but also an energy source. Saren's knowledge revealed him to be not just a warrior but also a figure of wisdom.
As Kaiden collapsed to the ground, drained of energy, Saren stood tall. Everyone in the arena was in awe of his display of power. Under the dark sun's light, the red lightsaber gleamed at the center of the arena. Applause and cheers erupted from the spectators.
Amid the echoes of previous battles still reverberating in the arena's atmosphere, the audience awaited impatiently. Silhou appeared in front of the Eclipse Core. Walking with a graceful yet authoritative demeanor, the medallion around his neck shimmered with a sapphire light. As the spectators saw him, they fell silent; all attention turned once more to the master of the arena.
Silhou paused, addressing the finalists and the spectators. His eyes moved slowly across the stands and then to the arena's center. His voice resonated powerfully across the vast arena, creating an overwhelming sense of authority:
"Today, you witnessed the greatest warriors of the Realm of Shadows. Flux, Shade, Max, and Saren! You all proved your strength and willpower. This was no ordinary contest. Each of you has taken one step closer to the Eclipse Core."
Silhou continued after a brief pause, his voice even more resolute:
"But now... we shall witness the final battle to determine the champion. First, Flux and Shade will face each other! The clash of darkness and energy will shake this arena."
Silhou's words caused a stir among the stands. The fight between Flux and Shade was the clash everyone had been eager to witness.
Turning to the other finalists, Silhou declared the second duel: "And then Max and Saren will battle each other for victory. The brilliance of light and the elegance of swordsmanship will shake the arena."
"These battles will determine the fate of the Eclipse Core and the future of our nation. Now, it's time for the warriors to write their own history!"
Silhou: The battle of the four finalists will take place in two days. Those who are tired, regain your strength, for you will need it.
Two days later:
The arena was packed once again, and the ultimate battle was about to begin. King Gareth Silhou entered the arena amidst the applause and praises of the crowd.
Silhou: My dear people, the ultimate bearer of the Eclipse Core will be decided within these three days, and I hope it will be the best choice for the sake of our nation.
Flux and Shade stood at the very center of the arena, staring at each other intensely. The two warriors were preparing for a clash that would determine the fate of the nation.
Flux moved suddenly with a burst of speed. His mechanical armor activated the full power of its energy. His body, almost like a wave of light, glided through the arena, encircling Shade. Flux's rapid maneuvers filled the arena; energy-made shockwaves created a storm around Shade. Flux's attacks were so fast that the spectators struggled to follow with their eyes.
Shade moved with full focus amidst this storm of energy spinning around him. He held his dark sword in front of him, taking a defensive stance. Blocking Flux's attacks, Shade tried to stay balanced. His sword absorbed every blow, preserving its dark energy while searching for an opening.
Shade showcased mastery in defense with his sword, while Flux devised a new strategy. He concentrated energy waves around Shade, creating an explosion. Shade momentarily lost his balance and was pushed back by the blast. While he managed to steady himself by planting his feet firmly on the ground, Flux didn't cease his attacks for a moment. Rapid strikes from the air and ground continued to corner Shade.
Flux, having pushed Shade back, charged his armor with high energy. The light emitted by the mechanical armor filled the atmosphere of the arena. Using the energy, Flux launched himself into the air. The spectators widened their eyes, eager to see how this lethal move would defeat Shade.
Accelerating mid-air towards Shade, Flux prepared to deliver the final blow with full force. However, Shade decisively raised his sword into the air. Dark energy began to concentrate around the blade. Shade took a deep breath, gathered all his energy, and shouted, "Dark Sword of Death!"
Dark energy surged from Shade's sword into the sky like a storm. Thousands of sword strikes rained down on Flux. For a moment, Flux was stopped mid-air; the neon lights from his armor clashed with Shade's dark energy. But Shade's move completely neutralized Flux's armor.
Flux, having lost his strength, crashed onto the ground. The cracked floor shook with Flux's fall. As Flux knelt, his breath became irregular, and his energy was completely depleted. The light of the dark sun illuminated the sparks left from his shining armor.
Shade walked toward Flux with determined steps. His dark sword still trembled with dark energies. The spectators held their breath, watching what Shade would do. Shade stood in front of Flux and coldly spoke:
"You should have never distanced yourself from me."
With these words, Shade completely concentrated the dark energy within his sword. He swung the blade with a single lethal strike. Flux's body was split right in the middle. The spectators fell silent for a moment in shock. Then, the arena was filled with cheers of fear and admiration.
Shade stood alone and tall in the arena. His dark sword, symbolizing victory and death, still gleamed. Under the dark sun, he declared his power and darkness on the path to the Eclipse Core. The spectators began chanting Shade's name: "Shade! Shade! Shade!"
Silhou reappeared in the center of the arena and declared: I congratulate our first finalist, Shade, and now invite Max and Saren to the arena to determine the final finalist.
The two warriors quickly stepped onto the battlefield, and everything was ready for combat.
Once again, silence prevailed in the arena. The energy waves surrounding the Eclipse Core infused the battlefield with an atmosphere full of tension. Max and Saren were the only moving figures amidst this silence. The spectators held their breath, ready to watch every move of these two warriors. After a tournament filled with long battles, the ultimate clash was now imminent. This time, the speed and art of swordsmanship would collide before the nation's eyes.
Max took a deep breath while gripping his mechanical spear tightly. His armor adapted to the energy waves of the arena; every movement was designed with determined and sharp precision. Motivated by the cheers of the spectators, Max accelerated and dashed toward Saren.
The spear in Max's hands was filled with radiant energy. Moving like a wave of light, he advanced toward Saren. The spectators watched Max's power with admiration, his every step resonating on the arena floor. Max increased his speed, aiming to create an explosion fueled by energy.
Saren carefully observed Max charging directly at him. His red lightsaber gleamed in the arena's somber light, and he assumed a composed stance to prepare his defense. Saren's eyes analyzed Max's movements, seeking a weak spot in the attack. He waited with silent determination. The spectators eagerly anticipated Saren's move, while Saren stood with perfect grace.
As Max prepared to thrust his spear forward with all his strength, Saren moved with a single swift step. The red lightsaber gleamed in a graceful but deadly dance in the air.
At the moment Max thrust his spear forward, Saren initiated his lightsaber with a single strike. The red blade, glowing with elegance, neutralized the spear in mid-air. Saren's move was not merely a strike but a masterpiece of swordsmanship. The spectators were mesmerized by the impact of this sudden and precise maneuver.
With a second turn of his lightsaber, Saren absorbed the energy emitted by Max's spear and delivered the final blow. The blade shattered Max's spear while simultaneously nullifying his attack. Max paused on the ground after this lethal move; his strength and speed were entirely exhausted.
Max, amidst sparks and energy waves emanating from his armor, slowly fell to the ground. Kneeling, Saren stood tall. His red lightsaber gleamed at the center of the arena as a symbol of victory. The spectators erupted in cheers, thrilled by this single-strike duel: "Saren! Saren! Saren!"
Saren stood in the heart of the battlefield like a statue. Through the elegance of his sword and his clever maneuvers, he had moved one step closer to determining the fate of the Eclipse Core.
The audience in the stands, still impressed by previous clashes, waited silently. At the very center of the arena appeared the familiar figure: Silhou. With his graceful and authoritative stance, the medallion around his neck radiated sapphire light, drawing the spectators' attention. Silhou slowly walked toward the Eclipse Core and turned to the crowd.
Silhou raised his hands slightly, commanding the excitement in the arena. His voice echoed with authority:
"Today, you witnessed the finest warriors of the Realm of Shadows. Their strength and determination demonstrated how close they are to the power of the Eclipse Core. Now, I call upon the final two warriors who will determine the fate of our nation: Saren and Shade!"
As Silhou spoke, two heavy doors of the arena opened. Shade stepped out of the shadows into the arena, with his dark cloak and black sword. As the wind passed by him, it dispersed a dark aura, making each step feel even more powerful. His dark energy spread through the arena as though declaring his dominance.
On the other side, Saren entered the stage with his red lightsaber. His graceful movements and composed demeanor showcased his confidence and mastery of the art of combat. Advancing into the arena, his lightsaber gleamed as though performing a dance with darkness. The spectators watched in silence, holding their breaths as these two figures came together in the arena for the final clash.
When both warriors stopped in the arena and turned to Silhou, Silhou extended his arms wide and raised his voice once more: "Shade and Saren! You are the best warriors of the Realm of Shadows and the closest to reaching the Eclipse Core. You have shown us your courage, strength, and intelligence. Congratulations to you!"
Silhou paused briefly and then turned to the crowd, continuing: "The final battle will take place in this arena in exactly three days. On that day, the champion who will determine the fate of our nation will emerge! Be ready, the history of the Realm of Shadows is being written."
Following Silhou's powerful words, Saren and Shade simultaneously stepped forward and bowed respectfully to Silhou. With elegance and clarity, they spoke in unison: "Thank you, Majesty."
After saying this, Saren gracefully lowered his red lightsaber and left the arena. Shade disappeared into the shadows, exiting the stage. The spectators, filled with excitement and the tension created by these two figures, began cheering loudly.
Silhou turned to his people and said: Thank you for attending this magnificent tournament.
And with that, he vanished from the arena.
