Chapter 4:
Gigi & Akane
The office was its usual mix of chatter and clacking keyboards—until one morning when something felt oddly different. Gigi strolled in with his trademark quirky energy while Akane maintained her steady, cool composure at her desk, as if nothing unusual were about to happen.
While everyone else was busy with mundane tasks, Gigi decided to test the limits of office decorum. He ambled over to Akane’s desk, plopped his bag down with a thud, and grinned.
“Good morning, Akane! Ready for another day of corporate adventure?” he chirped.
Akane sighed without looking up. “Gigi, must you always be this… extra?”
Gigi tapped his temple. “Extra? I'm just recalibrating my creative circuits. Besides, every routine day hides a spark—one I plan to ignite, even if it's just with a cleverly timed pun.”
That day, during a coffee break in the sleek office lounge, Gigi launched into one of his spontaneous monologues. “They say small changes make big differences. I say, if we throw in a little extra laughter, even the drabbest day might just break the mold.”
Akane merely raised one eyebrow. “You’re overthinking a break, Gigi.”
Yet, as the day unfolded, subtle hints—shared glances, a slightly softer tone in Akane’s responses—revealed that maybe, just maybe, that extra spark was catching. Even if she wouldn’t admit it outright, the air had shifted, and something new was in the making.
