Chapter 32:

The Power of Eclipse

Fate

After hours of searching and intense effort, no trace of the Eclipse Core could be found. Shadow assassins and soldiers had scoured every corner of Slaw City. Yet this fruitless operation only caused a greater loss of time and deepened the chaos within the city. Silhou had to make a decision.

Turning to the leaders of the shadow soldiers, Silhou gave a firm command:
“We’re ending the search here. Leave the city. We’re returning to the capital. We’ll continue tracking the Eclipse Core through other means back home.”

Silhou’s decision not only brought the operation to a halt but also offered a moment of relief for Nash. He was still securely holding the Eclipse Core, traveling among the shadow soldiers unnoticed as they made their way to the capital. Inside, he was already contemplating the next phase of his plan.

As the journey continued, Kaileth turned his gaze toward one of the shadow soldiers—Nash. Though Nash seemed to move naturally among the others, Kaileth’s trained eyes sensed something off. Nash appeared to be slowly distancing himself from the group without any clear purpose. While the rest of the unit was still investigating the city center, Nash’s aimless detachment caught Kaileth’s attention.

Slipping into the shadows, Kaileth began observing Nash more closely. His steps were calm but too calculated. He was separating from the group without drawing any attention, heading toward a more secluded part of the city. Kaileth paused. His instincts told him this was no coincidence.

Nash continued to move carefully and cautiously into the more desolate corners of the valley. Kaileth, as the leader of the shadow assassins, followed without being detected, using his skills to remain completely unseen. Every step allowed him to further analyze Nash’s behavior.

When Nash finally stopped in a secluded corner of the valley, away from people, Kaileth watched from the shadows. Focusing his senses, he tried to detect the strange energy radiating from Nash. His eyes locked onto the dark waves emanating from Nash’s body—an intensity that no ordinary soldier should possess.

As Kaileth realized that Nash was sending a message to the Iron Kingdom, the truth became clear. Nash’s transmission peeled back the veil surrounding the theft of the Eclipse Core.

Kaileth saw Nash secretly activate a communication device. Remaining hidden, he listened in. Nash reported, calmly and coldly, that he had seized control of the Eclipse Core and was growing stronger. He declared his loyalty to the leaders of the Iron Kingdom. His voice made his betrayal unmistakable.

With a swift move from the shadows, Kaileth appeared in front of Nash, silent but deadly. Drawing his sword, he stood with unwavering resolve. His eyes glowed, defying the dark energy surrounding Nash. With a strong, commanding voice, he spoke:

“It’s all clear now. You’re the one who stole the Eclipse Core. I know exactly what you’re trying to do here, Nash.”

Caught off guard by Kaileth’s sudden appearance, Nash was momentarily stunned. But he quickly regained composure and began channeling his dark energy.

“My bond with the Eclipse Core is complete. You can’t stop this.”

Despite the confidence on Nash’s face, Kaileth was undeterred. Tightening his grip on his sword, he responded with a firm challenge:

“You’ll pay for your betrayal, Nash. The Eclipse Core’s power won’t save you.”

Kaileth charged at Nash without hesitation. His sword slashed toward the dark energy at Nash’s chest, clashing with the force of the Eclipse Core. Kaileth’s attacks were swift and precise, but Nash’s enhanced body resisted the blows.

Activating the Eclipse Core’s power, Nash began manipulating the energy around him. With a motion of his hand, a concentrated energy wave surged through the air toward Kaileth. The wave was powerful enough to obliterate everything in its path. But Kaileth had been trained for attacks like this. With lightning speed, he dodged the blast and sought out Nash’s opening.

Launching another attack with surgical precision, Kaileth swung his blade. But Nash, using his enhanced reflexes and strategic mind, predicted the angle and generated an energy shield. The impact of the clash scattered stone and dirt into the air.

The Eclipse Core’s advanced AI had given Nash the ability to analyze Kaileth’s every move. Calculating the speed and direction of each attack, Nash dodged and countered with perfect timing. Kaileth quickly realized Nash’s power was far beyond what he had anticipated.

To turn the tide, Nash focused the energy around him and unleashed an explosion meant to overwhelm Kaileth. The blast knocked Kaileth back a few steps, but his will remained unbroken. Rising quickly, he launched a series of strikes aimed at breaching Nash’s defenses. Though the Eclipse Core reinforced Nash’s endurance, Kaileth’s attacks were relentless.

Their clash lit up the secluded corner of the valley with explosions and energy waves. Despite Nash’s overwhelming advantages, Kaileth did not back down. As the leader of the shadow assassins, he would never let fear consume him. The time had come to activate the legendary “Fear” form that slumbered within him.

Kaileth took a step back, enduring Nash’s energy assault. His eyes gleamed with renewed determination. This time, however, a dark aura enveloped his body from the shadows. His breath deepened, his body trembled slightly, and his mind sharpened. Ancient energy whispered through him, igniting his being. The “Fear” form had awakened. Kaileth’s figure grew more fluid and dangerous—his movements more lethal.

With his fear form unleashed, Kaileth’s speed and attack power surged. In the blink of an eye, he closed the distance and launched a flurry of strikes with his shadow blade. Each attack left deep gashes of dark energy. Nash tried to counter with his energy shield and blade, but Kaileth’s ferocity began to overwhelm his defense.

Every blow shattered the surroundings with violent force. Flying debris and bursts of energy turned the battlefield into chaotic art. The sky above rippled with the dark energy of both warriors.

The explosions caused by their clash shattered the valley’s silence and caught the attention of shadow assassins and soldiers heading to the capital. Feeling the violent energy, Silhou and his team rushed toward the battle. As Silhou neared the center of the conflict, he feared his suspicions might be confirmed.

Realizing the blasts might have been heard, Nash decided to end the fight quickly.

Kaileth struck once more in his shadow form. Though Nash’s energy shield resisted the attack, Kaileth’s blade landed several blows. A mix of energy and blood surrounded them. Nash’s calm expression shifted slightly in discomfort. Still, the Eclipse Core kept him steady and focused.

Seizing a fleeting opportunity, Kaileth surged forward at full power. Raising his sword for a final strike, he poured all his energy into the attack. As he neared Nash with unshakable resolve, the moment of decision approached—darker than ever.

Utilizing Eclipse Core’s strategic calculation abilities, he perfectly analyzed Kaileth’s speed and the angles of her attack. Nash raised his sword and, with a composed and precise movement, delivered a single fatal slash to Kaileth’s neck just in time. The cut brought her motion to an abrupt halt. Kaileth’s body froze and fell into an eternal silence.

As her body collapsed to the ground, Nash closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

Silhou and his team arrived swiftly at the scene, drawn by the chaos of explosions and surging energy.
But instead of encountering an enemy, they were met with the cold dominance of silence. As the shadow soldiers and assassins scanned the surroundings, a sense of dread filled the air—Nash was nowhere to be seen.

Silhou carefully scanned the area. On the ground lay Kaileth’s lifeless body, shrouded in shadows. Her elegant yet powerful figure was now motionless; the fatal cut on her neck clearly told the story of her final battle and sacrifice. Silhou approached her and knelt beside her. Doubt and sorrow etched across his face. Kaileth had given everything to prevent the theft of the Eclipse Core—but it hadn’t been enough.

As Silhou looked at Kaileth’s lifeless body, he questioned Nash’s absence. Despite Kaileth’s valiant efforts, Nash was no longer there. Taking a deep breath, Silhou turned his head and gave a clear order to the soldiers around him:

“Find Nash. Even though he is my knight, he will answer for not intervening in this war.”

The Iron Kingdom

In the grand halls of the Iron Kingdom, silence reigned. Mask, Jorah, and Thorn sat around a table, discussing future strategies. At that moment, a message from Nash changed the room’s energy. Nash reported that he had completed his mission and successfully acquired the Eclipse Core, integrating it into himself. The message was listened to attentively by the three figures.

Nash’s cold voice echoed through the message:

“I captured the Eclipse Core more easily than expected. The mission is complete. I’ve integrated the crystal into myself and greatly increased my power.”

After hearing this, a satisfied expression appeared on Mask’s face. Nash’s success seemed to grant the Iron Kingdom a major strategic advantage. In a calm tone, Mask replied:

“Excellent. I’ll reward you after the war. Your success has reshaped the power of this kingdom. Wait, Nash. A great reward awaits you.”

Jorah responded more emotionally after hearing the message. Remembering Nash’s father, his trust in him deepened. With a strong voice, Jorah said:

“You’ve become a great warrior, just like your father, Nash. You’ve served me well. I declare you the hero of this land. Even if no one else knows it, in our eyes, you are.”

Finally, Thorn broke his silence to deliver his own message. Supporting his father Jorah’s words, he expressed admiration for Nash. Speaking a bit humbly, Thorn added:

“My father is right. You’re serving even better than I ever could. This achievement is proof of your talent and intellect.”

Nash’s capture of the Eclipse Core instilled great confidence in the leaders of the Iron Kingdom. His ability to control the dark energy and his immense power were seen as a trump card that could open the door to future victories. While Mask, Jorah, and Thorn stood behind Nash’s success, they began to think about how to use the Eclipse Core with this newfound power.

While the three continued discussing Nash’s success in the dim yet majestic palace hall of the Iron Kingdom, a sudden beam of enchanting light lit up the room. A magically conjured hawk, glowing with blue lights, entered the hall. Its eyes gleamed with intelligence and grandeur, and each beat of its wings left a magical echo in the air. The hawk spoke in a resonant and impressive tone:

“You have a message from Lady Aria.”

Before the hawk’s voice faded, a magical projection materialized, revealing the silhouette of Lady Aria. With a graceful and confident posture, she spoke in a melodic yet determined voice:

“Greetings. I will depart for the Iron Kingdom at the first light of dawn tomorrow. I promised to inform Prince Mask before my arrival. I am coming.”

Upon receiving the message, Mask rose from his seat. Lady Aria’s visit was significant—not just a diplomatic meeting, but part of a greater strategic balance. With determination, Mask turned to the attendants in the hall and gave a clear command:

“Begin preparations immediately. A very important guest will arrive tomorrow. Every corner of the palace must be ready. No detail is to be overlooked!”

The palace of the Iron Kingdom was thrown into a flurry of preparation for Lady Aria’s arrival. Under Mask’s command, servants and officials began arranging every corner of the palace to perfection. The palace was decorated in intricate detail to showcase its grandeur and power.

The grand hall was illuminated by colossal chandeliers adorned with golden details. Tables were draped in fine fabrics and set with the finest wines and exquisite delicacies. Symbols representing the strength and victories of the Iron Kingdom were hung on the walls. At one corner of the hall, a specially prepared throne was positioned at the center, symbolizing Mask’s leadership.

Intricately woven carpets were laid in the corridors, and torches with metallic gleam were placed alongside them. These torches created a flickering light that added a magical atmosphere to the hallways. Servants readied themselves to welcome the guest with the best posture and most impressive demeanor.

Security around the palace was heightened. At Mask’s order, all entrances and exits were tightly controlled. Dozens of hidden guards were stationed at strategic points to ensure Lady Aria’s safety. Assassins patrolled silently, analyzing for any potential threats.

Meanwhile, in the LakeLand, Lady Aria was preparing to depart. The kingdom had a serene and elegant atmosphere; castles spread across vast plains surrounding calm, deep lakes reflected its grace. Lady Aria had prepared herself in the best way for her visit.

She wore special armor that symbolized both elegance and strength. The armor was adorned with shimmering silver and sapphire details. A fine, blue cloak flowed from her shoulders, gently waving in the wind. A silver hawk emblemthe symbol of the Lake Kingdom—glowed on her chestplate. Around her neck, a magical pendant helped her focus as she prepared to depart.

A group of elite guards accompanied Lady Aria, all dressed with the same elegance and effectiveness. Their armor, designed in blue and silver tones, mirrored the tranquility of the lakes. Each was equipped with powerful swords and shields, standing in disciplined formation. Lady Aria led them with grace, encouraging them forward.

Leaving her palace in the middle of the ocean, the Lady of the Lakeland arrived with Nyssa, the Water Mage. With them were the silent Deep Guards who moved through the water.

The caravan from the Lakeland did not move on the surface. They flowed through magical passages in the water towards the Iron Kingdom.
