Chapter 2:
The blood of humanity
The laugh was creepy. Everyone was terrified. They didn’t know what to do.Who was doing this? They wanted to leave this place—leave this country. But how?
They searched for a ship, a car, a plane... but everything was destroyed.Ships and boats had sunk. Roads were cracked. Cars were burning.Planes, helicopters, the entire airport—gone.Phone towers were shattered. Phones were useless.Everything they needed to escape or call for help was ruined.
Everyone, including our main leads and five other passengers, set out to find someone—friends, relatives, family. But no one was there. It was like people had simply vanished. And that terrified them even more.
They understood now...Someone was doing this on purpose.Someone was playing a game.A game of death.
They found no one alive.Only blood on the roads.Dead bodies outside houses and buildings. There was no way out.No way home.
They were stuck. They had to survive. They had to fight.
Everyone decided to stay together.
Kenzo, Luca, and Sofia wanted to find their Japanese friend. There was still a little hope in their eyes—maybe their friend was alive. They reached the address their friend had given them a few weeks ago.
As they arrived with the others, they saw the house was completely destroyed.Sofia saw a hand on the ground.Just... a hand. She noticed a bracelet on its wrist—the one she had given her friend, Ako.
“No, no! No! It’s not possible!”Sofia screamed and collapsed to her knees, crying uncontrollably.Kenzo cried silently.Luca looked away—he couldn’t bear the sight.
As they looked around, Kenzo and Luca spotted their friend’s head.
Sofia, still sobbing, quickly covered the little boy’s eyes to stop him from seeing.Kenzo cried harder and whispered,“How? Why? This can’t be real…”
Luca’s eyes filled with tears.
Ming watched them silently. No emotion on his face.He scanned the area for danger. The five other passengers stood back, watching with sympathy.
Ming finally said calmly,“Stop crying. It won’t bring them back.Worry about yourself, not the dead.I don’t feel safe here.”
He paused, then continued,“It’s not good to stay here.”
Luca didn’t like Ming’s tone, but he knew he was right. He agreed.“He’s right. It’s dangerous.”
Luca placed a hand on Kenzo’s shoulder.Kenzo nodded.Sofia wiped her tears and nodded too.She held the little boy’s hand, ready to leave.
Then suddenly… they saw something.
A weird creature.
It had a human body—clearly a woman. But its teeth were sharp like a wolf’s, and its nails long like a witch’s claws. The creature ran straight toward Sofia and the little boy.
Sofia quickly shielded the boy with her body.Everyone was shocked.
Ming, Kenzo, and Luca stepped forward to save them—But suddenly, a sword sliced the creature into two pieces.
They turned quickly.A girl, about 22 or 23 years old, stood there with a sword. Her face was covered by a mask.
“Are you two okay?” she asked Sofia and the boy.
“Yes, we’re fine. Thank you for saving us,” Sofia replied, smiling weakly.
Ming looked at her with suspicion. Finally, he asked, “Who are you?”
The girl looked at him, then removed her mask.“My name is Akiko,” she said with a warm smile.
Kenzo stepped forward.“Are you the writer Akiko?”
She smiled and nodded. Then looked at everyone seriously.
“I know you’re scared and confused.Trust me, I don’t understand it either. It all started just a few days ago. Suddenly.People began turning into these creatures. And those who didn’t turn… were killed by them. The explosions, the destruction—I don’t understand any of it.”
She looked around. The group was still scared and confused.
Then suddenly, Luca stepped forward.
“We don’t have time for introductions, or stories, or truth. We’ll talk about everything later. For now, we need to leave.”
Everyone nodded—Ming, Kenzo, Akiko, Sofia, and the others.Even as they left that place…They knew they weren’t safe yet.
This was just the beginning—of a terrifying and horrible journey.
