Chapter 32:

32. Dreaming of water and stars

The path to Peace! ~ ♥uncensored♥

With the relation between humanity and dragons, and nanites, steadying, we had our singularity.

Dragons and angels technologies combined could manufacture their own food, if associated with the proper supply lines handled by humans and then the NUN.

The New United Nations, or New Utopic Nation unlocked this technological skeleton key that was similar to the authority I had bee. exceptionally given.

Now the system had found its harmony to do everything, steadily.

The dragons allow themselves to bloom into a new singularity nation turning the supplies into technologies and vessels, with the symbiosis to the system and our old biology ecosystem.

Fairies had the biological symbiosis and control to push our combined species even further.

Together we could head for the stars.

The nanotechnology golden age of civilisation was regrown, but not reborn. If the essential defences were insured with the help of the dragons and the remaining laser defence satellites, it was better to go a step further and resurrect all the potential of the old civilisation in the matters of safeguarding the future.

But nothing more defence wise. A lot more civilisation and resource wise.

We rebuilt vaults from old nuclear bunkers to store food, technology and nanites relays. So that if one were to fall in a great tragedy, the other would remain, and be able to continue autonomously.

For us, that meant continuing our path to utopia, provisioning for the long term future.

Managing the balance of the biosphere was the nanites' duty. They also loved playing humans, clearly. But they were eager to help generally, and helping us sow the seeds of the future was thrilling to them. Even if it was just to guard and conserve a stock of food and technology deep below a mountain, or drilling on the moon for helium3...

All the sites Technology Isekai had in the past were repaired, and new ones were built to complete their network, and insure they had everything they needed. Enough back-ups and stasis fields were built around the world, and in space.

And then, we sent dragons into spaaaace!

That was insanely fun. With the right protection and extended apparatus, and boost on lift off, some volunteer dragons were the first astronauts of this time.

They cried in terror as the rocket carrying the first three lifted off, but then, they fell in love with the sight. Funky machines they were. They were sturdy and adaptable.

Funnily enough, we were staggering behind to redevelop nanotechnology directly. But rockets were launched easily with the proper propellants and supply chains. We managed to keep contact with our first drakonauts, and all they did was yell how beautiful the planet was when seen from space.

I bet it was... I wanted to go too, with Aster and our child, but we’d have to wait our turn.

Dragons and fairies were the best astronauts and cosmonaut teams imaginable.

Fairies were easier to launch and able to do precise work that included repairs on the existing structures, and detailed manufacture in 0g. They flew all the time with their light wings, weighed nearly nothing, and had human intelligence if not more. They were perfect. While the dragons were able to fly around with their magic, sustain far more radiation and temperature damage than biology, and give the stronger push when it came to carry or move heavier objects.

Also, until we would be able to build a proper spacecraft, only they were able to proceed with a re-entry into atmosphere without burning. Their military scales had probably been derived from space shuttle tiling before they came.

So and so, things were progressing well.

Everyone on the island of utopia was clapping at the sights of the first space flight made by dragon and fairy. Perfect size-gap team! And a giant leap for the future of our collective species.

Funny we built space rockets before we could build any plane, but that was reusing our friendly dragons and nanites civilisation’s knowledge and know-how.

Years peacefully went by.

We developed and redeveloped all the required technologies for space faring, now adjusted for our different friends in early stages.

The economic sense of terraforming another planet was zero.

I didn't waste the world economy on the Kardashev endeavours of growth. Only mine.

Earth was secured then, and I had a dream of mine.

Solving Drake’s equation and activating panspermia without transhumanism, but a symbiosis of diversity.

But more importantly...

I kept thinking of the barren fields beyond the gate, the red desert of that abandoned world.

And it made me dream of Mars.

I established the Mizunashi corporation to funnel the resources that would work toward establishing the new system out there too.

To train the future and our wider reality to turn even such dead worlds into thriving gardens.

The future system was out of breath. Now I wanted to prepare for that too.

S - Maybe if we went to collect the Jovian moons of Titan, Io, Ganymede and Callisto and crashed them over Mars... It would bring more iron for the core, and water for the surface.

D - You can’t do that! That would destroy worlds we still don’t know much about! And possibly wreck the balance of the solar system beyond repair!

S - Okay, okay... I’ll find another way once the system is established over there. We’ll find a way to terraform Mars.

My child would carry on my dream in time.

To see a steady ocean on Mars.

~

Decades flew by.

The Mizunashi corporation was exploring the solar system and beyond, working onto bringing higher gravity and a new magnetic field on the red planet. Ambitious. It would probably consume all the magic power the nanites held on Earth. But that was fine, we could live on without their spells.

I sank our family wealth into that dream, and embarked about as much as the old system allowed.

Dreaming we would be able to walk and sail freely out there under a new sky.

Until when, we would keep looking up to the stars, and the nanites melt and accelerate the planetary heart.

The draconic and fairies space stations were beginning to spread in the solar system.

We were not among them, though our daughter was.

The younger one was already working her best to bring water on Mars.

Aster and I remained in our peaceful winter resort, when we were not travelling like wandering knights.

The sages had already returned to history discreetly, we had nowhere else to be.

We were enjoying our old age peaceful holidays out there, without a care in the world, letting the days slowly slip by.

Someone knocked at the door. That was mostly unusual.

I went to open, and found a good looking boy. He was young enough to be my son at least, smiling gently and standing with an aura of dignity.

I had a feeling I’d met him before, but where and why?

Ah.

K - Hello Yuu Mizunashi... Long time no see. If I could have a moment of your time?
