Chapter 52:
Veil of the Shadow Hunter
The day had a strange sense of calm. Leegna walked through the streets, feeling the sun's warmth on his skin. For a brief moment, everything seemed ordinary—nothing lurking in the shadows, no unseen dangers waiting to strike. The park he often passed was buzzing with life. People laughed and conversed, some were walking their dogs, and others sat in cafes, sipping their drinks and enjoying their day. Leegna found himself captivated by the simplicity of it all.
-He strolled down a path lined with tall, swaying trees, the cool breeze tugging gently at his clothes. His blue eye flickered for a second, activating on its own, but then it stopped. The brief surge of power made him alert, his senses heightened, scanning for any hidden threats. But there was nothing, only the soft hum of life surrounding him.
Leegna found a bench near the edge of the park, away from the crowds, and sat down. As he gazed at the world moving around him, he allowed his mind to wander. How easy it must be, he thought, to live without the weight of celestial battles, without the burden of knowing too much.
He watched a young couple walk by, their hands intertwined, laughing at something only they knew. Further down, a group of friends gathered outside a café, their voices cheerful, the sound of coffee cups clinking filling the air. For a moment, Leegna felt the ache of what could have been—a life untouched by the mysteries of the shadow realm, untouched by the burden of his past.
Maybe I could've had this, he thought. A normal life, free from the darkness.
His gaze then shifted, falling on a small child running ahead of his parents. The sight of the family brought an unexpected jolt of emotion. The memory of his own parents, long lost, flashed before his eyes. The carefree, idyllic image before him contrasted sharply with his own life—a life marred by loss, betrayal, and relentless struggle. The calmness he'd felt moments ago slipped away, replaced by the heavy weight of his true reality.
-As the sun began to dip below the horizon, casting long shadows across the park, Leegna remained seated on the bench, lost in his thoughts. Evening was setting in, and the air grew cooler. It was then that he felt it—a presence. Subtle, yet unmistakable. Someone was approaching.
He turned his head slightly, his blue eye catching a glimpse of a familiar figure walking towards him. Aternos. But this time, he wasn't alone. Flanking him were two others—figures cloaked in shadow, their forms barely discernible against the dimming light. Celestial beings, no doubt, their auras cold and menacing.
Leegna's heart rate quickened, and he tensed. The momentary peace he'd found was gone, replaced by the cold reminder of the world he belonged to—the one of shadows and battles yet to come. His mind raced, wondering what Aternos had planned for him this time, and why these new entities had appeared.
-The air grew heavy as the three figures closed in, the tension palpable. Leegna's instincts sharpened. Something was about to happen. Something that would shatter the delicate calm of this ordinary day.
The strange figure's approaching him were not seen nor sensed before, it was something new yet powerful coming up his way
Thus , Aternos's new plan was in action and his next upcoming move was making Leegna anxious ...
