Chapter 0:
Shirogane Lightfield: New Hope Academy
Long ago, the world was torn apart by endless war.
Humans and beastkin, two races with their own strengths and prides, held each other in a vicious cycle of revenge. Battles erupted for territory, resources, and even just self-respect. Forests burned, lakes dried up, and skies turned gray with the sound of guns and the roars of creatures.
But between the two warring forces stood one people who took no side—the fairies.
They were small, agile, nearly invisible to the naked eye. The fairies were not creatures who interfered in conflict. They were guardians of nature, eternal observers who kept the harmony between day and night, between birth and death. When war broke out, they hid sacred forests, calmed roaring rivers, and turned a deaf ear to the cries of blood.
Until finally... the world grew weary.
As new generations began to question the legacy of hatred, a peace treaty was born from the wounds. The two races, human and beastkin, slowly learned to walk side by side. From the embers of war, a new hope has emerged—Shirogane Lightfield Academy, where young people of all races study together.
Now, flowers are beginning to grow on the once scorched ground. The sky is blue again. And the fairies? They are still there—hiding in the petals, floating among the leaves, and sometimes… whispering quietly in the wind.
They do not choose sides.
But they are watching.
Because this time… they want to believe that the world really can change.
Time passes like the rustle of a morning breeze.
Shirogane Lightfield Academy stands amidst the green hills that were once the front lines of a bloody war. Now, it is blanketed in wildflowers and surrounded by a thin mist that dances every morning. The walls of the academy are carved with ancient symbols—some of humans, some of beastkin—carved not to divide, but to unite.
Towers of stone rise with large windows that open to the world. The main hall echoes with the laughter of students. And all around, the gentle chime of the morning bell signals the beginning of a new class.
The little fairies floated slowly, occasionally perching on the tips of leaves, watching the new students with curiosity. Some hid themselves in the wild chrysanthemums, while others sat on the wall clock, listening quietly. They didn’t speak, but they knew.
Today was an important day.
For some students, this was just an academy to study.
But for others, it was the beginning of everything—meetings, questions, laughter, and perhaps… old wounds that would slowly heal.
Destiny was waiting in those hallways.
And the first footsteps would soon be heard.
Fairies—once just shadows in the morning mist, were now slowly showing themselves.
They, who had once kept their distance from the clashes of the great beings, were beginning to open themselves to a world no longer filled with hatred. At Shirogane Lightfield Academy, they danced among textbooks, hid in the cafeteria, and sometimes sat silently on the flagpole, watching the morning sun.
They laughed softly when human students accidentally bumped into beastkin in the hallways. They welcomed the wonder of children who had never seen such small creatures before. Some of them even began to learn human and beastkin language, albeit with messy pronunciation and full of jokes.
They were no longer just observers.
They learned to laugh together.
They learned to worry.
They, who had never taken sides, now began to sing along to the rhythm of the new era. Not because they had to... but because they wanted to.
This world was not perfect. There were still many wounds left behind the smiles.
But when the first bell rang that morning—with clear skies and gentle winds—a new step had begun.
And unbeknownst to anyone, destiny was waiting.
In the hallways, in the classrooms, and in the hearts that had yet to know each other...
The journey had finally begun.
