Genesis.

1997.

in a meeting in a dark room. there are multiple people in suits. they are having a serious discussion regarding the appearance of sings. the issue didn't lie in the fact of some random signs appearing all over the world. the issue lies in the fact that those signs are a warning about the end. 

there are ten guys between their forties and sixties. there are eight ladies. the youngest one was in her early twenties, and the oldest one is in her late seventies. 

the room is dark and silent. they all hold knowledge about what is to come. they all had come together to save the world. they try to solve the puzzle of when and how it is coming. each of them from different nationalities. each of them from a different profession. they all with a variety of power and honor. different people united by a common dilemma.

one of them is an older guy with a muscular body. he has a long white beard. he shaves his head every morning. he goes by the code name Outback. he offers a different strategy to solve the issue at hand.

"We can stop it if we find the source." said a voice in the darkness.

"No. let's try doing something drastic as sending men to the moon. or another planet to survive. if earth is no longer stable. then outer space should be the solution." said another desperate voice.

"I disagree. we should go underground."

"No. underwater should be safer."

so many arguments. but none of them offer a proper solution to solve the problem at hand. quite the opposite. all those voices are seeking a scape rather than a solution. none of them question the possibility that there has to be something else to do.

"I am done with your absurd lack of creativity. let's make going to space a last resource solution. but what we need is to prepare for Armageddon. as far as we are aware there would be a celestial army coming to drive our species to extinction. I will create an army capable of taking down the heavens if possible. there is no other way." declares Outback.

"I will support you in your project sir." said Texas, the youngest lady in the room.

as the discussion seem to get closer to a conclusion. the earth shakes brutally. the ground bellow them breaks apart giving space for a giant hole underground. there is a strange noise similar to a living beast coming from the hole.

the doors to the confidence room opens up. a gentle man with slick long neon black hair comes inside the room. his hair covers part of his left eye. he is wearing a red suit. he has a black tie with white skulls. the man walks with simple and strong steps. his face is smooth. he has a feminine appeal with a slim muscular body. he looks at everyone in the room. they all are terrified of the man without knowing anything about him.

"Genesis. in the sacred scriptures, people may assume it refers to a beginning. but it can all refer to the beginning of the end. and today I announce such Genesis as the roots that will swallow the world whole. there is nothing you can do to save your soul. today you will be witness of what is to come. but fear not, in about ten years the end will commence, and nothing will stop the heaven's will. this is but a final warning to make peace."

"How can we accept such an absurd demand." yields London.

"Oh, babe it isn't about accepting. it is a deal that is done. you'll need to come forth with the resignation and admitting that your species has reach the end. you have ten years to make peace with your loved ones. but because things can't be so simple I will give you a taste of what is to come. if you survive, then you're welcome to struggle all you want after all every species. every creature sooner or later faces extinction." said the man void of emotions.

out of the hole comes out a huge bright neon red seed. the moment the seed opens up a greenish, gray gas comes out consuming and claiming the life of half of the members. then an object with a form similar to a plan comes out and it starts to attack everything that moves as if it had a mind of its own. 

in the middle of all the chaos many members fell. many security guards died. only four people were able to survive to tell the tale.

Outback, Texas, Tokyo and Tequila are the only names that made it out. the creature with the shape of a plant has some sort of green eye that is located close to its roots. that thing destroys the building driving the remains inside of the hole.

"We don't have time to waste. let's go with the plan. humanity depends on us." said Outback as he tries to process the crisis they are facing.

"Can we even make it? that was just a taste of their power. what is to come next, will be for sure huge enough to cause an Apocalypses. I don't think we are prepared enough or would ever be. such brutality." yields Tequila.

"We don't have a choice. you saw what they did. we have to use every resource available if we desire to protect our loved ones. don't think about yourself. but think about your people. the ones you desperately desire to protect." said Texas thinking positive.

Tokyo stands there silently. he observes everything. there is a heavy duty on his shoulders. he can't be sure if he can trust the others. as far as he is concerned Outback is out there fighting for his own greed. Texas is too green. and Tequila is not of strong mind.

the mysterious man they faced that day was gone. nowhere to be seen. but soon, at some point in ten years they would need to face him. they just know that he will come back.
