A sea with colder and darker waters, more void of human expeditions. Its waters are known for nurturing many predators and grand creatures, some considered to be extremely perilous. Merfolk from these parts have more fins and scales, as well as darker skin and tales.

The deep sea and its obscured waters, where no surface light can be found. Gelid waters, where caution is obligatory, and guides are demanded. Merfolk from the depths are rarely seen in warmer waters, as they are best suited for the abyssal life.

Rules may diverge for individuals who are contacted by their next of kin, or individuals who are declared to be unable to adapt in society or live among their peers.
