Chapter 63:

Tomokazu's Downfall - Hero's Lies Arc

Engulfed in Darkness - Becoming a Villain in Another World

“I don’t need you to give me a training routine,” Tomokazu had told Kage at the start of the six months, who was getting more upset by the minute.

“Tomokazu, everyone else is in a programme. Just because you’re the strongest out of the four of you, doesn’t mean...”

“It does. I don’t need to be given training by the likes of you.”

“Tomokazu it’s not just that. You don’t have a true goal! Beating your father?! That’s a childish objective!” Kage began to shout at Tomokazu, getting angry.

“Oh, and destroying the Gods isn’t?!” Tomokazu shouted back. Kage shook his head in disappointment.

“Yes. That is also a childish objective. However, it’s something that seems almost impossible to the rest of them. Take Bibi, for example. She wants to kill your father specifically out of revenge, and while I necessarily don’t agree with the idea of revenge, her goal is near impossible with the power she is at. The woman has no manna. Not a drop. Wisteria wants to destroy the hierarchy, and Hiroshi wants world peace. Beating your father is not only a simple objective, but a very achievable one. There’s no creativity.”

“I don’t care. Let me train by myself. I don’t care about you. You should have won us the war single handily. You are a failure of a master,” Tomokazu frowned, turning and walking away from Kage. Kage looked on, torn and upset. He sat down, holding his forehead in deep thought. He still couldn’t stop thinking about the atrocities that he encountered during the war. It made him shiver to that very day.

In the present day, as Wisteria and Bibi started their fights, Tomokazu launched himself at Schulz, yelling at the top of his lungs. He drew his blade and slashed downwards, expecting to slice clean through Schulz’s skull.

However, his blade stopped an inch from the hero’s forehead. Tomokazu looked on in confusion as he stepped back. A huge stack of paper money had formed between the two, creating a barrier. Most of the money had been sliced through, but it had stopped Tomokazu’s blade nonetheless.

“What the?” Tomokazu gasped.

“Money Magic is so awesome, isn’t it?” Schulz laughed. “Are you sure you want to fight me? I’m so much stronger than you!”

“Liar!” Tomokazu yelled out. He was too proud to give up so easily. He attacked again, slashing away at the money piles. When he got through to the other side, he was shocked to find Schulz gone. He looked up, becoming alert. Schulz flew down from the sky, attempting to hit Tomokazu with a flurry of fast punches. Tomokazu parried with his sword, and counterattacked with a swift kick to the stomach, sending Schulz flying into his own pile of paper money. While Schulz was down in the piles of almost endless money, Tomokazu leapt into the air and slammed his sword down with force. Schulz rolled over to one side, jumped into the air and landed a backwards kick into Tomokazu’s face.

Tomokazu got flung away, but immediately got up, determined to strike Schulz down.

He swung his sword directly to the floor, summoning a blade of air that resembled a sickle shape. Schulz smirked as the air sickle flew closer and closer, then effortlessly swatted it away with the back of his hand, as if it were a fly.

“Is that the best you have, God Child? I’m disappointed,” Schulz said with a smug grin on his face. Tomokazu took to the air, looking really annoyed. He flew at near lightning speed to take Schulz’s head clean off. However, Schulz stopped the blade with a singular finger. Tomokazu gasped, but instantly attacked again, stepping back and thrusting his sword forward. Schulz stepped off to the side with relative ease. At that moment, the truth hit Tomokazu like a ton of bricks.

Schulz had mastered the art of light speed.

This meant he could travel at three hundred thousand kilometres (or one hundred and eighty-six thousand miles) in just one second. Only the most power people in the world could master it.

Schulz adjusted his body to face Tomokazu and hit him in the stomach. Tomokazu coughed up blood, before being grabbed by the throat.

“Useless. You are not your father, it seems. What a shame,” Schulz tutted, almost in sympathy. He began to squeeze Tomokazu’s throat tightly, attempting to crush it. Tomokazu kicked himself away and aimed his blade, sending five sickles of air towards his foe. Instead of blocking, Schulz simply flipped over one, then another, and another. However, Tomokazu had planned for this. Just as Schulz did a somersault over the last air sickle, Tomokazu charged forward, expecting to take the hero off his feet quickly as he landed.

Schulz was too fast.

He jumped into the air, and aimed his elbow down, slamming it directly into the middle of Tomokazu’s back. His body slammed face first into the concrete, and Schulz took him by the hair and continued to slam it into the debris, over and over again. Tomokazu slipped out from under him and flew away, attempting to get some ground between his opponent. However, when he turned around, he was almost too shocked he forgot to defend himself.

Schulz had been building up stacks of paper money to reach the height to which Tomokazu had flown to. Schulz could fly also, however.

He was just toying with him.

In a panic, Tomokazu swung his sword rashly. As if things weren’t bad enough, Schulz aimed for a specific point on the side of the blade, and smashed his clenched fist into it, shattering it into thousands of pieces.

“What?” Tomokazu said, stuttering slightly in fear.

“I told you, you’re a disappointment,” Schulz hissed, flying at Tomokazu and wrapping his arms around his waist. He threw him to the ground, and Tomokazu sat there, totally defeated, physically and mentally. Schulz began to form gold out of thin air, attempting to drop it on Tomokazu’s head, crushing it.

Tomokazu looked around the battlefield with his bloodshot eyes. He could see Wisteria and Bibi, hugging one another, their fights done and won. He could also see Hiroshi, who had gained some consciousness, smiling slightly. Tomokazu closed his eyes in pain. What did they have that he didn’t?

Maybe it would be better if he died. Bibi deserved a better date, anyway, and Wisteria and Hiroshi now had one another. He knew that he was too much like his father. The bloodline should end here. He was no longer needed.

“I’m a monster,” Tomokazu gagged on his own tears.

He now understood Hiroshi. Even though he thought that they had everything, and had no reason to be depressed, he could see it now. Hiroshi just hid his emotions very well. In his final moments, he respected Hiroshi. The gold bars began to fall, but Tomokazu didn’t even bother to look.

He was a failure. Why did he not listen? Why was he so weak?

Just as the gold bars were about to drop on his head, killing him instantly, a gust of wind past over head, blowing the debris all over the place, and redirecting the gold bars away from Tomokazu’s head. He looked up in shock. There stood a man, in a brilliant suit of shining armour, and long gold hair, delicate and straight.

“Stand up, Tomokazu. I want to show you this as a lesson,” Kage smirked, cracking his knuckles. “I saw this from the capital and thought you might need help. I may be a bad master, and I apologize. Allow me to make up for it here right now.”

*QUESTION TIME!!!*

“Do you like Bibi as a person?”

Hiroshi says – “She’s so energetic…sometimes maybe too much. Like, I’m not a morning person, let me tell you that. She is a morning person. It’s hell. Screaming and shouting like a schoolgirl, and the mouth on her! The amount of swear words that woman invented is insane. However, she’s like a little sister I never had. I have a lot of time for her. Maybe I even like her annoying me…nah…not really.”

Wisteria says – “Oh my! Bibi! She is so full of joy and fun and energy! In no time at all, she has become my best friend. Well, she doesn’t have much competition for that role, but she’s just the best. Bibi makes me feel really confident in myself too, as if I can take on the whole world. I idolize her.”

Tomokazu says – “She has a great ass.” Hiroshi – “You are hopeless.” Tomokazu – “What?! You told me to say something nice about her during the interview!” Hiroshi – “Yeah, nice, not perverted! Have you never been in a relationship before?!” Tomokazu – “About that…” Hiroshi – “For God sake, talk about her personality, man.” Tomokazu – “Oh! Yeah, she’s lovely! She’s so kind and caring and sweet! And she has a wonderful smile!” Hiroshi – “Yeah, that’s the spirit! Always talk about what is in there. It’s all that matters” *Hiroshi points to Tomokazu’s heart* Tomokazu – “What, her breasts?” Hiroshi – “NO! YOU REALLY ARE HOPELESS!”

Bibi says – “I think I’m awesome. That’s all. Did Tomokazu say about me? Something nice, I hope? Alexander – “Um, yeah, he did…let’s move on.”
