Chapter 32:
Echoes of Dream
Noel woke up to her own world.
She was lost in thought. She still had a sensation. Rather than the sensation of pain when a red-eyed shadow pierced her, she had a warm cozy sensation down her lips and the heart. She could still feel the lips of Leon and she could still feel the moment.
But she knew this was not the time to immerse in this fleeting moment but to research.
So, she gets ready and has breakfast, meets with her uncle, and tells him that she couldn’t go to the royal library yesterday so she will be going today.
Uncle agreed and said that they shall return to Redlaw estate tomorrow so she should finish her work by that time.
Noel heads off to the royal library.
After a while, she reaches it. A grandiose library. It was very large in size. Made out of materials to withstand even the disasters, it was invulnerable.
Why focus this much on a library? Of course, because it contains literally everything this kingdom has to offer in terms of information.
After Noel verifies herself, she is granted access to the library.
It's enormous. It’s literally an Akasha. Multiple floors, hundreds and thousands of racks, and all to store the information. Of course, this world was still in the medieval period so they didn’t have servers or a database like modern people. But the information was not lacking. There are only a few authorized personnel inside this enormous place. This place looks like this contains everything but without proper research, who could know that.
Noel is baffled by the majesty of the library. She didn’t know where to begin but she did anyway.
Noel’s day was going to get covered inside this library itself. She would submerge herself in research hoping she could find out about anything.
She begins her research, by going through hundreds of books, journals, and ancient scriptures.
“The new way of implementing mana…?”
“A new continent far east?”
“Civilization in the South?”
“Southern Barbarians?”
“History of the empire”
“Secret of the labyrinth?”
There are multiple things that have not been revealed to the public, there are hundreds and thousands of things that were kept as a secret in this library. Yet none of them was of any use to Noel.
Then, she stumbles upon the book containing the legend of Levedin. It contains similar things to what the priestess told her before.
Levedin was the god of creation. He created the entire world including the living beings. Some of the creations who indulged themselves in the darkness, being corrupted led to the desire of demons.
The crimson-eyed monsters residing in the lower realm, crossed across the world to consume the entire mid-realm. The living fought through them. Many civilizations were destroyed, and labyrinths, dungeons, and mazes were created due to the corrupt energy of demons blending with the mid-realm atmosphere.
On the verge of losing the battle, divines from the upper realm had to intervene. They saved the world. They granted the powers to the mid-realm’s people.
Levedin himself descended to this world to wipe out the demons and their demonic gods. The world was torn apart. Yet Levedin resurrected the entire world. This happened centuries ago.
There were multiple stories that intertwined with each other. The stories of Levedin were also different from book to book but this one was the most popular yet was unfruitful for Noel.
She again began her search. After several hours she stumbles upon another book that piques her interest.
The book contains the legend of a great hero. She decided to read it out of curiosity.
Then as she was about to start, A figure approached her.
“Noel?” A soft voice calls Noel.
Noel looks at the figure.
Covered in a beautiful gown with a full skirt and a long sleeve. A royal attire. It was astonishing. Grandiose Jewelry. Her blue eyes depicted the beauty itself. Her long beautiful blond hair was also amazing. She was a girl the same age as Noel. She was the princess of this kingdom and an acquittance of Noel.
“Oh, princess. Nice to see you in a long time” Noel greets Princess
“Yes, really nice to see you too, Noel, how are you? What are you doing these days?”
Noel, “I’m fine, what could I do, just the same routine as a typical noble lady” Noel laughs off.
Princess, “Hahaha, this is our destiny after all”
Princess glanced at the book Noel was about to read,
“Oh my, are you reading the book that contains the legend of the hero?” Noel, “Huh? Yeah…”
Princess excitedly, “I have read the book before, it always fascinates me. Would you like to read it together? Noel”
Noel was a little hesitant but their innocence of Princess made her give up, “Okay, I guess I could use a company as I don’t think I am progressing with my research”
It seems like the princess just wanted to spend some time with someone her own age. Both of them sat together and opened the book.
The book really was legendary as it contained the legend of the great hero who appeared in the past. The book actually contained different information than what was released to the public.
To the public, the great hero was said to have been sent by Levedin, and after completing his mission, he returned to heaven. But in the book, it was a little different. The hero appeared in the past amidst the second war with the demons out of nowhere.
His birthplace and origin were unknown but no one had the time to search for that instead even small help from anyone was thought great. He was unlike what’s revealed to the public. He had shoulder-length black hair. He had an ordinary appearance, one could even mistake him for a common villager. He wasn’t exactly noble-looking. He was foreign to this kingdom.
It’s said that due to his intervention in the war, the divines didn’t have to step down from the war. His appearance itself changed the tide. He wielded enormous godly powers.
However, strength was only one of the factors within him. His intelligence was greater than that of scholars and his tactics were above the strategists. After years of assisting the kingdom, he finally brought victory to the humans.
However, after the war was over, he disappeared. No one knew where he went. He just vanished into nothingness yet his legend continued.
[This is the summarized form of what’s contained in the book]
The book is completed. Princess lets out a sigh of relief. Mystical every time I read this. “By the way, what was the research that you were talking about earlier”
Noel, “A-Ah, Actually, I wanted to find the author of this certain book of ancient civilization, it included towering metal skyscrapers, moving metal objects in the sky, etc”
Princess immediately knew what Noel was talking about, “Oh that book?”
Noel, “You know about it?”
Princess then goes to a certain location to bring out the book, “Know it? It actually piqued my interest too. Even though others call it nonsensible, I just think sometimes what if there really was a world like this? But it’s not what if, it’s just that I know that the world exists”
Noel is slightly confused by the princess’s words.
How can the princess be so certain about things that only Noel had experienced? Noel knew it was true because she would travel to that world in her dream but what about the princess?
