The Bishop Of Mesuda - Mesuda Village Arc

The next morning Honō woke up to see Ash and Witz in the chairs near where he was sleeping, talking, wearing their usual outfits with the only difference being that Witz hadn’t her black blazer on.

As Honō yawned and looked to the other side of the room he saw Selene standing in the kitchen boiling a pot of coffee. She had the same outfit as she had on yesterday only without the large witch hat.

Honō looked back at Ash and Witz, he waved as to say hi and show he was awake before getting up. As he got up, he noticed it was nearly midday. He had slept for almost twelve hours, longer than he had in years. After he got up, he walked over to the kitchen where Selene was stood.

As he made his way over to the kitchen we waved at Selene to which she smiled and returned the wave.

“Any coffee left?” Asked Honō still only half awake as he spoke.

“Yep, loads” replied Selene with a smile, as she got a clean cup out of a press for Honō.

“Love to hear it” said Honō as he picked up the pot of coffee and poured it into the clean cup that Selene had took out.

“Sooooo, how’d you sleep?” Asked Selene in a whisper as she took out some sugar form a tub to put in her own coffee. One sugar. Two sugars. Three sugars. Before stirring it into the coffee.

“Great, thanks I owe you one” answered Honō In a whisper before pouring more coffee into his cup.

“Good to hear” whispered Selene before smiling and putting the tub of sugar back.

“Also why are we whispering?” Questioned Honō in a confused whisper as he sipped his coffee.

“I don’t know, why are we?” Answered Selene no longer whispering as she walked away from the kitchen and over to Ash and Witz.

As they finished talking, Honō began to follow her over to the chairs and couch where Ash and Witz had been talking.

“Morning Honō, unlike you to be up last” said Witz as she moved over to let Selene sit down beside her.

“Ya I know but even I need sleep” replied Honō as he sat down on a chair and sipped his coffee.

“So, what’s our plan for the day?” Asked Ash curiously.

“We’ll probably just help with the reconstruction of the village that got destroyed by the bears” answered Honō as he continued to sip his coffee.

While they continued to talk the door began to knock. As they heard the knock Selene began to get up and head towards the door, to which she opened to see the bishop with another younger priest with short brown hair and bright yellow eyes.

“Hello, miss Isolde” spoke the bishop in a annoyed tone as he stood in front of the door way.

“Hello, Sinclair what brings you here today” returned Selene in a disgusted voice as she looked at the despicable old man.

“Well you see I heard you were one of the ones who helped protect so I’m here to give thanks” answered the bishop begrudgingly as he made no attempt to show his dislike in the situation as the younger priest looked the bishop with a sinister smile at his dismay.

“I see well you have given your thanks now please leave” demanded Selene. As Honō overhead the conversation, he got up from where he sat with Ash and Witz and walked over to see what was happening.

As Honō looked out the door from behind Selene, he locked eyes with the bishop. The bishop scoffed as he started to speak again.

“No wonder you want us gone you damn harlot”

As the bishop said this Honō began to raise his fist but was stopped by Ash who had grabbed him by the arm. After Ash had stopped Honō, Witz walked in front of Selene who stood there too stunned to speak.

“Hello again mr bishop I’m sorry but let us introduce ourselves again please?” Asked Witz surprisingly calm in the situation.

“Oh ok, finally someone with manners. I am Thaddeus Sinclair, bishop of Mesuda village” returned Thaddeus with smile of triumph against Selene.

“I see, now then my turn. I am Witz Meka, daughter of Armatura Meka current leader of Echilia. So, leave now or face the fucking consequences of angering an entire nation Thaddeus Sinclair” spoke Witz in a voice no longer masking or hiding her anger and hatred for the man who stood in front of her.

“Fine, I’ll leave then” replied Thaddeus making his closing remarks before turning around and walking away.

The young priest stood for a moment after Thaddeus walked away before speaking

“I am truly sorry, please note visitors from Echilia that not all of us clergymen are like that” said the young priest as he bowed to emphasise how sorry he was.

“I know it’s ok, Selene already told us the deal about him” returned Witz happy to see the others clergymen in Mesuda are at least decent people.

“If you need any assistance while you stay here just ask for me at the church and I’ll help you best I can” offered the young priest.

“Sure, what’s your name though?” Asked Witz wishing he’d just leave already.

“Oh sorry, I’ve gotta go now but my name is Xander Benedict” answered Xander before turning away and running to catch up to Thaddeus.

As Xander left Witz turned around to see Honō and Ash trying to comfort Selene over at the couch. Witz walked over to help the two men comfort Selene.

“You sure you’re ok?” Asked Honō sitting on the couch beside Selene

“Yes, I’m okay, really I’m just a bit shocked” responded Selene trying to smile to lessen everyone’s worries about her.

“Only if you’re sure” sighed Witz as she plopped down onto the couch.

“Ya, now let’s just go help the reconstruction of town” suggested Selene as she began to get up.

As she said this the rest of them agreed and spent the rest of the day helping the reconstruction efforts.
