Chapter 6:

Chapter 6: Escape

The end is now

Miyoko and me went to Miyoko’s room so no one could catch us talking about the file. We sat on Miyoko’s bed and she opened up the file, it had a paper in it that had some writing on it, it was small so I squinted to read it.

It said:

Dear Hitori, I think Hinata needs to be removed from this earth, he doesn’t qualify well in our scheme.

I am giving you until Friday to eliminate Hinata, make it discreet and accidental looking as to not trigger any of the others. Miyoko is a little pesky but Hinata saw you kill her family and has proof to show to everyone else that can expose our scheme for good.

Sincerely, Karina Watanabe

“They KILLED your family, and are planning to ELIMINATE Hinata, why?” I asked.

“Because Hinata saw my family get eliminated. Hitori threatened him not to tell anyone but they are debating whether to kill him so he doesn’t,” Miyoko said.

“Oh god! We need to escape!” I said. “Yes, that is what I was telling you all along,” Miyoko said, her black hair shining in the light of the room.

“I have a plan, I have to show you something,” Miyoko said. She went to a closet and opened it, inside were a lot of high tech weapons, guns, bombs, you name it.

“When we escape, let’s leave a grenade so Hitori is taken care of, Karina Watanabe is coming tomorrow so she will be taken care of too,” Miyoko said.

“How did you know?” I asked. “I hacked Hitori’s computer and found that she is meeting Karina at our house during 12AM tomorrow,” Miyoko said seriously.

“Wow, didn’t know my test took that long,” I said, amazed at how she was able to do all this stuff quickly. “Meh, it is easy for me to work a computer, I often help Wei when his games are glitching,” Miyoko bragged.

We decided to meet Ai, Hinata and Wei and tell them about our plan. “Isn’t it dangerous to tell Ai, she is Hitori’s daughter, won’t she just tell Hitori?” I asked. “Fair point, but Ai seems to be nervous around Hitori as well,” Miyoko said.

We met them all in Miyoko’s room and explained to them. Hinata looked struck by fear when we were done speaking and showing the file. “Woah, didn’t know they wanted to get rid of me that badly,” Hinata said. Ai looked uncomfortable “I am sorry that my mom would attempt to do this to you Hinata,” Ai said.

“It’s not your fault,” Hinata said kindly, he was wearing a blue yakuta and some black slippers, he had just taken a shower.

“So is the plan set?” Miyoko asked. “Of course,” everyone said in unison except Wei who just mumbled “sure” while watching Tiktok although there were no new videos because the asteroid struck.

“Kids, dinner is ready!” Hitori said, Ai prickled at her voice a little although it was clear she didn’t hear us with the door closed.

We went downstairs and Hitori had made riceballs (onigiri), she seemed motherly but didn’t trick any of us since we knew she wanted to kill us.

“Ummm, I am not hungry,” Ai said, pushing her food. Hitori looked a little suspicious, since Ai loved eating dinner usually.

“Okay,” Hitori said, despite her suspicions.

After dinner, we all slept and woke up the next morning. Karina Watanabe was arriving at midnight TOMORROW, not today.

Today though, I was going to be gardening with Hinata. I woke up in my room with Ai and Ai spoke to me. “We never did do those  girls night things I planned when you were coming, do you want to do one before we escape together,” Ai said.

“Sure,” I said, seriously, we are facing a murderer and all this girl is thinking about is partying together? But I felt warmer at her optimism.

I then went in to the garden to help Hinata, he was wearing a straw hat and some overalls, he looked cute in them, I felt myself liking Hinata more and more now…

“Do you want to help me plant the sunflowers?” Hinata asked. “Sure,” I said. I grabbed the watering can and poured some water on the growing plants.

“Are you scared?” Hinata asked. “Definetely,” I said. “If I don’t escape, that is okay, I just want to make sure that you do,” Hinata said, blushing.

“Wow, thank you, Hinata, but don’t worry, we will all escape,” I said, although I wasn’t sure of it.

We gardened for a few more minutes and then went inside to find Ai reading a book at the table. It said “Grenades and how to work them” on the title. “You don’t want Hitori to catch you reading that!” Hinata said. “Come, let’s read it in our room,” I said.

We took the book upstairs and leafed through it, we knew the perfect bomb to use that would cause the most damage, there is no way Karina and Hitori are getting out of This.
