Chapter 12:

Evil never rest, specially not on the Weekend.

My Dear Dictator

Greed arrives back to his timeline. he is wearing a tuxedo. he looks around the old buildings on flames and the new ones. the remains of many other places. the commoners getting kidnapped just to be send to the 'factory.'

that intoxicated sensation that lacks humanity. the humor that lacks punchline as the routine of the daily life is a joke with no laughter. tragedy is one of those twisted jokes of life. that kind of life welcomes Greed. the kind of life he will never miss.

as soon as Greed tries to make himself feel at home someone comes forward in front of him. the person is holding a bible on his right hand. he is dressed in rags. he is homeless. there is no pride in the face of the decadent person Martin has become in the present. an old man who can barely take a step without trembling in pain.

"I know who you are. you need to run far away from here. they are coming for you sir." said Martin showing a worrisome facial expression.

Greed turns around. he starts to run. then a police officer hit him in the face with a cane. Greed bleeds from the face as he tries to escape from there. he falls on the ground finally unconscious as more officers approach him. he is taken to a dungeon.

"Welcome old sports. you betrayed my hand once. I used to look at you as a son. now you come forth looking for a different paternal face." said Hannes in an intoxicated subtle tone of voice hiding the fangs. but showing the power.

Greed wakes up. he is all wet. he has some bruises around his body. he looks at Hannes who stands in front of him holding Alfred from the neck. Hannes mocks them. there is no one capable of standing in front of him without showing admiration or rage.

Hannes is quite fit for an older man. he has some wrinkles he wears with pride. his cold facial expressions are more often melancholic. with a single word he can put many on their knees. he knows the power he holds at the tip of the tongue alone.

"I was never a son to you. I had always been nothing less than a dog at your mercy. you're the damnation that has dragged our world to hell's pit. that man, he is a person capable of bringing light to the universe. he is our salvation. a beast like you will never understand." said Greed trying to hide his emotions.

there are loud noises around. it appears like the revolutionary army has invaded once more the Tyrant's throne. there is no emotion on his face. some generals speak up about how they are under attack and losing terrain. there is no reaction coming from Hannes.

"You had truly change. there is no resemblance of the old man you used to be. you don't look alive at all. you look like a corpse. there is no future for people like you. there is no one on the world who will ever remember you in a positive light." yields Greed with teary eyes.

there is a strong explosion. the area around the dungeon trembles. Greed grabs Alfred from a sleeve and pulls him at his side. the two men try to run away.

Hannes follows after them. there are some soldiers fighting against the revolutionary army. Hannes ignores the faces around of them. Hannes pulls out two big thick hunting knifes. he cuts like a butcher every person that stands on his way between his prey. bodies fall on one side or the other side. Hannes ignores the faces of the people. the screams of pain and horror is like music to his ears. he smirks in a diabolical way.

the leader of the revolutionary army steps in front of Hannes. it was an old lady. she was holding a small pistol. her appearance is of decay. she walks dragging a leg. the moment her eyes meet with those of Hannes she trembles. there is something that stops her. tears come out of her face as she asks for forgiveness. she feels like they had done enough bad.

"Please stop now. Assmann, we need to stop.  we had done enough wrong to the world. I know I hurt you in the past with my betrayal. I loved you once, let it all go." said the old lady crying.

"Wretched foul. that was no betrayal. you wallowing on our sacred chambers was no act of 'past betrayal.' that was a declaration of war. I flayed that dog alive. and make no mistake woman. you weren't important enough for me to dedicate a kingdom of horrors in your dishonor. no, I just had enough of the world. I want it all to burn and go back to ashes. this is my castle of thorns where I do as a God. perfection I seek, not some laments of ego from a wretched foul like yourself. I am your GOD." yields for moments Hannes as he makes clear his declaration of wrath and chaos.

the old lady drops the pistol. Hannes takes it. he aims at a young man who was nearby. he shoots without even making eye contact. that man was the last connection remaining between them and he had ended it with his life. a tear falls from his eyes. he then puts his attention back to the two men who are trying to escape.

"You beastly animal. that was our son." yields the old woman broken in lament.

"No. Chloe, make no mistake. that was your spawn that you carried on your womb. that fragile weakling was no seed of mine." said Hannes as he keeps moving with his objective at hand.

Greed and Alfred run trying to end the persecution. but Hannes follows like a hellhound. he is not letting them escape that easy. he is not giving up. there is more he wishes to do to them. more pain to cause. he isn't stopping any time soon. the persecution becomes even more heavy as many soldiers come after them. not even the rebels can get on the way.

after some long hours of running. hiding. and running again. Alfred and Greed arrive at the final base of operations standing. they can hear the solid footsteps of Hannes approaching and getting closer to them.

Alfred looks at Greed as he comes to a final conclusion. they need to take some risky bets on the future to survive. Alfred asks him to declare the necessary protocol in order to get the Oni Unit in action. there is no doubt between them. the Oni Unit isn't one to be taken lightly. those are their best agents. only to be called in a risky situation.

Greed makes the necessary calls. they get ready to be send back to the past. things were going too well until Hannes had finally arrived in front of them. he pulls out a pistol. in that moment Greed is send back to the past. there was some shooting. and finally, Alfred was also sent back to the past.

Alfred was badly wounded. he died in Greed's hands. Greed cried for many long minutes. those minutes turned into hours. he was finally done crying.

it took some time for Greed to look at the environment around him. he was in a forest. with the limited resources around Greed buried Alfred Williams. he then kept moving. he needs to find the others to warned them. he was tired. he was wounded. he was hurt. he had gone through enough things to give up. but he needs to return to Grace, his daughter.

along the way Greed gives up to the wounds. he falls on the ground. he feels the embrace of a cold resentful night. he trembles as he feels like losing consciousness.
