Chapter 8: 5 years later

I am 19 now, and married to Hinata, the world looks way different now, like it did in my dream. I wonder if that dream was a prediction of the future, the daughter me and Hinata adopted, Ai is cheerful but mischievous, just like how Ai was before she died. Her sister, Kira, who was named after my mom loves to play with Ai in the gardens. 

Wei has also started to become less introverted, he is becoming closer with Miyoko and us and he even allowed me to play animal crossing with him one time. The hospital has also started to look better, Miyoko took her time cleaning it and she made new blankets for the beds. 

The room for the children looks way more colorful than it looked 5 years ago,  Wei also helped print posters of Kira and Ai’s favorite anime characters to put on the walls of their room.

I thought the world was over when the asteroid struck but really, it was just the world stopping for a while. 

Me and Hinata were talking a walk one day together. “I would like to make flower crowns for Ai and Kira out of the plants, I think they will like it” Hinata said. “Sure, can I help?” I asked. “Of course, watashi no ai,” he said. We then started picking flower petals from the sunflowers and azaleas to weave into a flower crown. 

After we were done Ai’s flower crown, we started working on Kira’s. Since Kira was more interested in the color blue, we used some blue roses to make her flower crown. We then took the flower crowns inside and handed them to our daughters. 

“Arigato!” Ai said, “thank you!” Kira said. Kira’s japanese was a little weak so she often spoke in engilish, Ai’s japanese was very good for a 5 year old so she spoke in japanese often.
