Chapter 70:

Chapter 69 – Twilight Resistance: Rise of the Forgotten

Ascension of the Void Monarch

The air shimmered as Ren stood at the head of a strange gathering—warriors lost to time, legends erased from history, souls who had resisted the Abyss in silence for seven long years.

Eira raised her voice, calm but commanding. “Each of you were pulled from time’s edge—because you were not supposed to die. Because destiny bent around you.”

The first to step forward was Kael, the silver-flame warrior. His body glowed with ethereal fire, veins glowing beneath his skin.

“I remember Nyx’s army swallowing my city,” Kael said, his voice low and scarred. “But I burned until the end. Or so I thought.”

Next came Liora, the girl with starlit eyes. She held a blade unlike anything Ren had seen—shifting in shape and color as though reflecting countless timelines.

“I saw all the futures,” Liora whispered. “In each, you died. But in one… you lived. That’s the one I chose.”

And finally, the monstrous figure stepped forward—a massive, wolf-like being cloaked in armor fused with void energy. Its red eyes locked with Ren’s.

“Name’s Thorne,” it said in a gravelly tone. “Nyx turned me once. Fed me the Abyss. But I ripped it out of my own flesh.”

Ren felt the fire in his chest reignite. This wasn’t just a rebellion.

This… was a resurgence.

Suddenly, a cold howl echoed through the air. The sky turned darker. From above, a harbinger descended—The Null Angel, one of Nyx’s enforcers. A twisted celestial being with a broken halo and black wings dripping with corruption.

“It’s found us,” Eira warned. “This is your first test, Ren.”

Ren stepped forward, summoning what little power he still had. Around him, his new allies readied themselves.

“No more running,” he said. “This time, we fight together.”

The Null Angel screeched and lunged forward—

—And the battlefield erupted in fire, starlight, and defiance.
