Chapter 0:
Random Fantasy Story A
A statue of a two tailed cat sitting with a dignified expression while staring at something from behind me. Curiously taking a peek at what it is looking at shows a fortified gate of stone and metal.
I approached the gate with my weightless body that looks like black orb of fire. As I was about to touch the gate, it suddenly opened with a gust of wind revealing two other floating orbs on the other side.
A crystal orb with reddish hue, holding a beautiful yellow flower and A crystal orb with bluish hue, holding another beautiful white flower.
We were all static at first, but I can feel that we're all approaching each other slowly. And like magnets that detected each other's attractions, all of us collided with great force to the point that I blacked out.
When I came to the cat's statue is gone and the gate has been replaced with a small opening that probably goes outside the cave. With my perception dropping by a few inches, I now noticed that I'm not a floating orb anymore. I have a human body with complete set of hands and feet. Before the cave opening, is a pair of shirt and pant clothing. A small bag can be found next to it.
With nothing to do, I started crawling outside via the cave's opening, finding myself in the middle of a peaceful forest. If a ranger was here, they could've noticed that something is watching from upwind. Unfortunately, I was just a weak human before this, so I didn't notice anything at all.
Picking up a random stick and throwing it on a tree, I decided which way I'll be walking towards. Even with all the power of the internet, I never really learned how to check which way is north or west if you're ever lost in a forest.
I'm not feeling hungry, but I started collecting some weird looking berries I found in the forest while walking. The forest provides an abundance of food, I can see it now, literally. It's too much in abundance, that one had just spotted me walking and is now aggressively approaching me.
I saw a wild pig running towards me from the direction of the cave, he was too fast for me to do anything that I could only raise my arms in defense. I expected a force equivalent to an approaching car, I heard a loud thud, but no pain came to me.
Taking a peek ahead, the pig's head had smashed towards a see-through wall of ice inches away from me. He died as swift as he came running towards me. How did this ice come to be though. Did I do this?
I mean, it's already here. The important question is, how did I do this. Waving my hands or arms didn't do anything, if it did the forest should already be full of ice. I also tried chanting ice spells, shouting status, or doing some hand seals. No one's here but me anyway.
I was going to start walking again, when I sensed something glowing on the pig's head. I started moving the carcass in a way that only the pigs head would get smashed before I pushed the ice wall.
On the smashed pigs head, around its mushed brain is a solid rock crystal glowing red. Since it'll be too long to wait for the ice to melt, I just dug around the edges of the fallen ice wall to get to the stone. I cleansed it with some dirt then placed it in the bag along with the berries I collected before resuming my walk.
I eventually reached a road, and unfortunately or fortunately there wasn't any events happening here. No carriages or merchants being attacked by bandits, just me, alone in this road.
With a random stick, I followed the road and ended up finding a town in another hour or so. The town had no gates, walls or anyone guarding the entrance, this must be a relatively peaceful town.
I bumped to a kid smaller than me after entering town. "Hi! Does this town have something like an adventurer or mercenary guild bar or something? "
The boy looked at me confused, then with a change of and understanding expression. "Heya! New in town? Why ask where it is when you're right in front of it?"
In front? Where? I looked around and every building looks the same to me. I do see some signs drawn above the doors. Wait.. Are they? But what sign do I need to look for the adventurer's guild?
Seeing the confusion on my face, the boy exasperated, "Look there!" He pointed on a sign with a beer mug drawn on it. "That's the bar. You can ask for random jobs there. I don't know what you're looking for, but that's the best way to earn money as long as your capable."
"Thank you! How can I repay you for this? I have something like this. Is this enough?" I asked while showing him the rock I found inside the pig's head.
"Are you kidding me!?" The boy said in shock. "You can sell this for at least 100 tics. Hey, are you some recently fallen noble or something? You could get duped if you give this willy nilly. Just treat me some food when you have time. You can look for me in the bar, name's Jason."
Talkative Jason then left me alone seemingly in a rush for something. I didn't rush to the bar, since I already know where it is, I tried looking for a shop to sell this crystal first.
The shop sign has a drawing of a bag overflowing with leaves and plants. Inside sits a young green haired girl my height. Shes not an elf unfortunately and welcomed me with a happy smile as I entered the store. "Hello! Are you looking for something?"
"Um, just checking if I could sell this here?" I showed the pig crystal to her.
She carefully took a good look assessing it before giving me a price. "it's fairly big for a common core. I can give you 120 tics for it."
Seeing that she's giving me more than what Jason's assessment of its price earlier, I readily agreed to what she offered.
"Great! Now lend me your hand for a second." Confused, I reached my hand toward her. She shook hands with me, and a transparent orb suddenly appears above our hands. Silver and Copper coins was sucked out from her hand, then transferred to mine.
After the bizarre spectacle, I could see the transferred coins on a screen above my right hand. Sweet! I don't need to carry coin pouches, everything's stored on my hands instead. After bidding goodbye to Hannah, the shopkeeper, I went straight to the bar to try and register.
Upon entering the bar, I saw an ongoing fight and cheers from everyone inside. Jason was fighting with someone!
