Akira Miike, part V. (5/5)

the tunnels leading directly to the landing area are destroyed. their only choice was to climb the mountain all the way to the peak.

Akira goes ahead of everyone. he climbs with ease. behind him are Samuel and the two men that Hector sent to help. behind them are Franco moving slow and carefully as a single mistake can lead to death. then at the end are Kobe and Sayuri. they struggle. there are more occasions in which it feels like they may lose the battle.

as they keep moving forward there is a massive explosion located on the peak of the mountain which caused part of the mountain to collapse. in the process one of their guides lose his valance and falls to his death. 

after long prolong minutes that felt like hours. they reach the peak. half of the landing area is burning in flames and completely destroyed. and the other half falls victim to chaos as Sins and humans alike are immerse in battle. 

the fourth wave of Sins just started, and this time is brutal. between the horde are Sins that go from the lowest level 7 all the way to a Sin level 3. right now, on the landing there are mostly Sins level 6 and 7. but soon the other Sins will get here. they need to escape now before it is too late for anyone. 

"Think about your loved ones. fight for them. fight for tomorrow." yields Akira.

Samuel and Kobe follow Akira as they slaughter the Sins that approach them. behind them are Sayuri and Franco trying to help. in the way they look at those who had fallen. it didn't take long for them to put an end to the last Sin.

everything finally seems positive. they feel relief. there are two airplanes, and a helicopter left in perfect condition. some people get inside one of the airplanes. Franco stops Kobe and Sayuri from getting inside. he tells them to take the next one. 

the airplane leaves the base. then Sins start to come out of the airplane. it shakes abruptly as it loses a wing. then midair it explodes and falls on pieces. 

Franco runs towards the helicopter. Kobe and Sayuri follow him. Akira and Samuel are about to follow them when they stop. in front of them is a Sin of Disbelief level 2. it is the same kind of Sin they faced before. but this time it looks different and is stronger.

"Go follow them. I don't think I will make it. a king either defends his kingdom or falls with it. but there is not in between. as the king of this castle. I have a duty to fulfill. even if it may be stupid or capricious on the eyes of others." said Akira with a sad smile.

Samuel for the most part wasn't just loyal. he was an obedient servant. but for once he couldn't see himself accepting his boss's orders. if the king falls. if the castle falls. then who is to deny him his right to also fall defending his people and lord.

Akira smiles with melancholy. he is a man who has never feared death. a man who can stare at death and laugh at its face. but it is a whole different thing when he has company. he wishes for his people to live long lives. now one of his oldest friends may die at his side.

"Don't worry old friend. that is not your style." said Samuel smiling.

the Sin of Disbelief is around five meters tall. its torso is long with its bones coming out of the skin with a sharp shape. the skin itself is dry. the backbone seems to be located on the front instead of the back. it has four smaller arms on the from. two hands are holding religious artifacts. the other two hands are on a praying position. it has four short feet that it drags around. it moves by using two long arms. it has a long neck. 

the Sin of Disbelief has three faces in a single head. on the right a human like face that has no eyes. on the left a face that has no ears. on the front a face that has no mouth.

"Sir. you're on time to save yourself. I can deal with that son of a bitch just fine." yields Samuel as he takes two swords from the ground.

"There are things in life a man should never regret. there are things in life a man should never do to avoid shame and regret. dying for a cause is not a thing to regret, on the other hand to escape from a fight. that is something of shame." said Akira.

"I. I am sorry sir. I didn't mean to be cause of disrespect." yields Samuel. 

then Samuel runs towards the Sin. out of nowhere comes another earthquake. the helicopter falls off the mountain between parts of the infrastructure and snow. an entire wall falls on top of the airplane causing an explosion. the explosion pushes Samuel against a wall. 

Samuel tries to stand up. the Sin captures him. Samuel stabs the hand of the Sin. then Akira jumps on top of the Sin stabbing it with the katanas as he climbs all the way to the top. step by step getting closer to the head. 

the Sin's two faces on the sides open wide making an animalistic sound. it forces Akira to fall on his knees. he looks around at more Sins between level 6 and 3 approaching. he fights back with all his strength. he gets tired as he keeps fighting. 

Samuel gets push around by the Sin of Disbelief multiple times. Samuel falls in the wrong position breaking his neck. then his body is thrown off the mountain.

Akira fights multiple times. he gets cuts. he bleeds. he keeps fighting. he bleeds from every corner of his body. his arms and legs. his body can't continue. he falls on his knees unable to fight anymore. he laughs manically.  

there are some footsteps coming from behind. Akira's hair blocks his sight. there is a picture on the floor stained with blood. he stares at his wife and son in the picture. there are some familiar steps coming from behind. a familiar voice. then certain smell of perfume. Akira recognizes the man. it was the stranger from the meeting.

"Do you remember me? I get it. I had been told I have those kind of looks that are unforgettable. my mom's side of the family. oh, no small talk." said the stranger.

"What do seek in here oni." yields Akira with an agitated breathing.

"Wrong mythos. right idea. people know me for many reasons. but kindness isn't on me. you can call me Tezca Tlipoca. and you are Akira the Oni killer." said Tezca making a Teatro and mockery of what would be Akira's death.

after few steps Tezca stands closer to Akira. he stabs him right through the heart from behind with a crimson sword. he twists the sword. a scream of war leaves Akira's lungs, as the light leaves his eyes slowly. until he finally died. Tezca kicks the corpse away as he pulls the sword bathed in blood. he walks away laughing.

that was the end of Akira's journey, but not the end for others.

at the cafeteria,

 the roof in the cafeteria collapsed long before. in the cold weather unable to leave caused by the waves of Sins and the weather. the people inside died one by one in an attempt to seek what was impossible under such a horrible weather. most of them died while sleeping. cruel, but a peaceful end. 

the Royal Central Garden,

 is on perfect conditions with some survivors staying in there talking calmly and sharing a meal.

on the Laboratory,

 Hector and his people are keeping the sins away. they use all kinds of fire weapons such a grenade-launchers or bazookas. there is not a single Sin left alive. they are sure to survive as many waves as there are to come. more than their firepower. it was their willpower that protected them as they didn't just had faith in each other. but they were wise in their combat against the Sins.

below the mountain,

 there is a helicopter that barely survived the fall. Franco leaves the helicopter. he is in perfect conditions. Sayuri and Kobe are also alive. they keep moving forward in their journey. the mountain is no longer safe. they need to stay away from there. they need to seek help in the middle of nowhere.

after walking downhill for a while they find themselves in front of the village. there are corpses everywhere. the place is completely silent. then a cry alerts them of possible life. they move carefully as any mistake can attract a horde of Sins towards their way.

above in the sky are multiple airplanes that are coming to rescue the survivors. in one of the airplanes stands Outback giving instructions to his people. he came to rescue his friend as soon as he realized that the castle was under attack. but he arrived too late.

"The castle has fallen." commented Outback as he stares at the flames.
