Sakamiya University Main Building
Inside the Conference Room

12:22 PM

As the two luminous orbs—each containing a single figure—descended gracefully toward the outer parking lot, they landed gently in front of Sakamiya University’s main building, right before Luna’s Absolute Holy Barrier, as if standing in defiance against the massive monsters inside it.

“Yes!” Luna replied with excitement and conviction.

“They have become... The Sacred Wielders. The bearers of the Sacred Madougu! It turns out, those Madougu were here all along. What that mysterious woman said to me last night was absolutely true—that Haruto Mori and Kanna Fujita must be at Sakamiya University today.”

“Then… that means they are…” Yui Okada’s voice faltered. She couldn’t finish her sentence, overwhelmed with emotion at the thought that someone could still fight for them.

“Yes. They are Japan’s two new heroes. Just as Luna said, the bearers of the Sacred Madougu. The Sacred Wielders. This is truly incredible… Haruto and Kanna. I never imagined this.” Miyuki Saegusa, the head of the secret government agency known as The Mirage added with a smile, finishing Yui’s words.

In that moment, nearly everyone in the room erupted in cheers. Some clapped their hands. There was hope once again—knowing that two individuals had risen, chosen to wield the Sacred Madougu, ready to face the terrifying monsters ahead.

“But who was that mysterious woman?” Miyuki murmured to herself, still puzzled by her identity.

“She seemed to know even more than you, Luna. Hhmnn…”

“I don’t know. She didn’t seem human. I have no idea where she came from. She was floating… cloaked in white. Her hood covered her entire head. She appeared in front of me just past midnight…” Luna’s brows furrowed slightly, her voice tinged with unease

“And after telling me about Haruto and Kanna, she disappeared without a trace.” The mysterious woman’s presence had left a lingering impression on her.

Cloaked and hooded in white..? Could it be... the same mysterious woman who came to me ten years ago, right after that great disaster—before The Mirage was even formed…?.. Miyuki thought to herself, her heart beating faster.

She told me I must protect two children. A boy, twelve years old... and a girl, eleven. Both had just lost their parents.

Is it truly the same woman Luna saw...? Could it really be… her?..

Miyuki’s thoughts spiraled as the realization struck her, a chill running down her spine. A pattern was beginning to emerge—an echo of the same mysterious presence Luna had just encountered.

Who is this woman..? Has she known all along that this day would come...?..

Sakamiya University Main Building
Inside Lobby and Hallways

12:19 PM

Suddenly, two massive glowing spheres—one purple, one orange—descended slowly from above, coming to a soft landing near the edge of the parking lot. Both spheres were clearly visible to anyone looking outside.

The crowd in the lobby and along the upper floor hallways had remained filled with dread, terrified that their fate was sealed once Luna’s barrier vanished, fearing they would all perish.

But in the blink of an eye, their fear turned into confusion and awe as they witnessed the arrival of two giant glowing orbs, descending gracefully in front of the building—right before the barrier, where the monstrous creatures still writhed.

“LOOK! TWO GLOWING SPHERES..!!”
“Is that… a new military weapon?!”
“Purple and orange…?”
“What’s inside them? Are they some kind of light bombs meant to strike the monsters?”

KLAAAKK..!

"Eek..! W-What was that?!" A female college student screamed as her smartphone slipped from her hands and crashed loudly to the floor.

"Oh my God! OH MY GOD! Did you guys SEE THIS?!" a female influencer shouted into her shaking phone, her eyes wide with disbelief.

She continued, "Guys! Something absolutely insane just landed at Sakamiya University! This is like a Marvel movie! I'm not joking!"

A middle-aged woman dropped to her knees, sobbing uncontrollably as she clutched her handbag. "We're being invaded! Aliens! Aliens are real!"

"No way!" a disheveled male college student panicked, slapping his palms against the glass window.

"This is some Hollywood trick, right? Tell me this is CGI! I'm dreaming—this has to be a dream! Somebody wake me up, dammit!"

Another student shouted back at him, his face pale as a sheet,
"This is real, you idiot! Does this look like a dream to you?!"

Tokyo TV reporter Aya Shina and her cameraman Kenji, who had just barely recovered from the deafening roar of the Boss Monster moments earlier, now began to resume their live news broadcast—her voice trembling but focused as she tried to remain composed on air.

She urgently motioned to her cameraman,
"Quick! Are you getting this live? For heaven’s sake, don’t miss it!"

"I’ve been recording for a few minutes now!" the cameraman replied, his hands slightly shaking as he zoomed in, sweat forming on his brow.
"This is… unbelievable… All right, we’re going live in three… two… one…"

“Tokyo TV viewers, I’m truly lucky I don’t have any heart conditions—because this afternoon has been nothing short of relentless. One shock after another in rapid succession from the battlefield at Sakamiya University. And now, we are witnessing yet another unbelievable moment. Two large glowing orbs have just arrived. One appears like a swirling void of dark purple—almost resembling a black-hole—while the other looks like a miniature burning sun.”

“They’re descending slowly, seemingly under perfect control, and appear to be landing right in front of the building. Where did they come from? And more importantly… what will happen next?”

Main Parking Lot - Front Lobby

CREK.. CREK..

“FREEZE!! DON’T MOVE!!” shouted one of the soldiers stationed near the front lobby of the building, directly behind the two glowing orbs. He raised his weapon, chambering a round as he aimed at the descending spheres.

CLAK.. CREK.. CLAAK..

“DON’T MOVE..!!”

Dozens of soldiers instantly raised and readied their rifles and handguns, all aiming at the massive purple and orange orbs. Their eyes reflected confusion, but their bodies remained firm—acting defensively, just as they had been trained.

“Sergeant Hasegawa, what is your order, Sir?” asked one of the soldiers, his rifle still aimed on the glowing spheres descending before them.

Nearby, one of the mid-ranking army officers, Sergeant Hasegawa, studied the mysterious orbs carefully.

“What the…? Are those drones? Some kind of new shielding technology?” he muttered, stepping forward slightly to see if he could identify any mechanical parts.

Then he raised his hand and gave a firm order.
“Hold your fire. Do not engage. Stay alert. We don’t know if they’re hostile or allies.”

“Yes, Sir!” several of them responded in unison. All the soldiers at the front continued to aim their weapons at the two glowing orbs but held their positions, maintaining full readiness.

After gently touching down on the parking lot ground, right in front of the barrier, the light intensified for a moment, before the glowing purple and orange spheres vanished with a distinct sound, followed by a sudden burst of strong wind that quickly settled, scattering dust and loose debris in all directions for a brief moment.

VOOOOMMM…!
THESSSS..!

It caused both civilians and military personnel nearby to shield their eyes from the sudden brilliance.

SHHHIIIIINNGG..!

And there they stood—two young individuals—emerging calmly from the fading glow, clad in surreal, otherworldly attire and wielding weapons straight out of legend and myth.

Haruto Mori held a massive shocking weapon pulsating with soft violet energy, while Kanna Fujita floated gracefully just inches off the ground. Her fiery feet not even touching the surface.

"DON’T MOVE..! DROP YOUR WEAPON..! NOW!!" A young corporal shouted instinctively, raising his rifle toward Haruto and Kanna, his voice cracking with tension as he saw the weapon in Haruto’s hands and Kanna levitating above the ground.

“BOTH OF YOU, DROP YOUR WEAPON! NOW..!!” another one yelled at them.

The other soldiers, just as alarmed, tightened their grips on their assault rifles, maintaining strict aim, fingers ready on the trigger. Sweat rolled down the foreheads of more than a few of them—fully aware that if these two were enemies, their chances of survival were slim to none.

Several police officers stationed inside the building also took position, peering cautiously from behind the windows, hands hovering near their holstered pistols, tense and ready to react.

"Sergeant Hasegawa, come in. Are you there?" Colonel Hayato’s voice crackled over the radio communication.

"Yes, Sergeant Hasegawa here. Two unidentified young individuals have just landed near the parking lot with… umm… bizarre weapons? Requesting immediate guidance, Colonel Hayato. Are they allies or hostiles?"

"Hostile?! Huh?! What the hell are you talking about, Sergeant Hasegawa?!" Colonel Hayato snapped.

"Those two are our saviors. They’re the ones who will fight those giant monsters. Calling them hostiles, ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?! If even a single bullet is fired at them, I swear—you’re done, DISMISSED FROM MILITARY!”

“Get your men out of their way, NOW! Stay clear, don’t interfere with them. Is that CLEAR?!"

"Eeekk! Y-Yes, Colonel! I am so sorry, sir!" Sergeant Hasegawa immediately broke into a cold sweat, trembling at the thought of being dismissed because his unit had nearly opened fire on Haruto and Kanna.

He marched forward and smacked the corporal’s head who had shouted earlier. "You idiot! Moron! Those two are fighters—our warriors—here to battle the monsters!"

"Ouch..! Yes, Sergeant… Sorry, Sergeant..." The corporal winced from the hit, quickly lowering his weapon in embarrassment.

"Lower your weapons! Everyone, lower your damn weapons! STAND DOWN!" Sergeant Hasegawa barked, snapping his command at his subordinates.

As the troops reluctantly lowered their assault rifles and resumed a standby stance, suddenly…

BANG..!

Everyone surprised at the gunshot sound.

"Hey! Who just fired?! WHO?! Oh crap, I’m dead. WHO FIRED THAT SHOT?!" Sergeant Hasegawa roared in rage, his eyes scanning every soldier with blazing fury.

"I-It was me, Sergeant. I forgot to engage the safety… The trigger slipped. But it wasn’t aimed at anyone, I swear—it hit the ground, right near my foot. I-I’m sorry, Sergeant…" another corporal admitted, bowing in guilt. A bullet hole was clearly visible on the asphalt in front of his foot, with smoke still lightly rising from it.

"YOU LITTLE..! You haven’t even tasted my wrath yet, HAVE YOU?! HAAAH?!" Sergeant Hasegawa clenched his fist tightly, cracking his knuckles with a threatening gesture, clearly ready to deliver his lesson to him.

Haruto and Kanna paid no attention to the commotion caused by the soldiers behind them. Even the shouting and exclamations from the soldiers seemed to fall on deaf ears. Both of them were too excited, and simultaneously bewildered, by their new and astonishing appearances.

Standing firmly in their places were Haruto Mori and Kanna Fujita, each adorned in strikingly different new gear. Both seemed transformed into entirely new individuals, showcasing incredible-looking equipment unique to each of them.

In Haruto’s grasp appeared a sleek, massive scythe-like weapon, intimidating yet elegant. Its large curved blade shimmered softly with a faint purple glow, a mysterious dragon-like emblem decorating its central part.

Despite the imposing size of the scythe, Haruto was surprised to discover how remarkably lightweight it felt in his hands, immediately sensing a natural familiarity with its balance and handling.

His hands were now covered in elegant white gloves accented with purple, seamlessly matching the aesthetic of his scythe. The gloves bore subtle runic markings, glowing gently in sync with the scythe’s mysterious purple radiance.

His footwear also underwent a transformation—now sturdy, dark grey boots highlighted by purple accents, clearly designed to fully support his movements as a wielder of this Sacred Madougu weapon.

Strange tattoos, featuring mysterious, unfamiliar purple symbols, decorated the outer sides of Haruto’s forearms.

Kanna, meanwhile, hovered gracefully a few inches above the ground, supported by fiery boots covering her lower legs. Flame-like spiral patterns elegantly wound upward, reaching her calves, as if imitating fire swirling toward the sky. A subtle heat shimmer surrounded her ankles, suggesting built-in fiery propulsion. She instinctively understood how to channel bursts of heat, controlling her airborne movement naturally.

Similar to Haruto, Kanna wore a pair of gloves with bright orange highlights. She felt a strong sense of connection to these boots, as if they directly channeled her vitality into bursts of flame. Each movement tested the newfound ability to remain airborne, and she quickly realized she could maneuver in the air with surprising agility.

In contrast to Haruto, whose clothing remained unchanged—still wearing the dark blue short-sleeved shirt and black trousers from earlier—Kanna experienced a more surprising transformation.

While the upper part of her outfit remained intact—a white short-sleeved shirt layered with a beige body-fitting sleeveless sweater—the lower half of her attire had shifted noticeably.

Her pleated mid-thigh skirt had transformed into a shimmering silver mini-skirt, fluttering freely with every movement she made. Nearly the entirety of her smooth, fair, and beautifully shaped thighs were exposed with striking clarity.

Her previous white panties had also transformed, now appearing as leggings shorts that remain concealed beneath the hem, never extending beyond the skirt's edge. Skin-tight yet comfortable, they were seashell-colored and visible when she flew or delivered a kick. Kanna now looked like a dazzling, sexy, and seductive super heroine—yet still elegant and undeniably cool.

Just like Haruto, an unusual orange-colored symbol of medium size had manifested on the outer side of both of Kanna’s thighs. The beautifully etched like tattoos across her flawless skin, centered precisely on her left and right legs.

The ground around them was bathed in a surreal twilight hue, a strange purple glow reflecting off Haruto’s Scythe and mingling with the blazing flames erupting from Kanna’s boots.

Haruto and Kanna looked at each other, both stunned and exhilarated by the drastic transformations they had undergone.

Though no direct explanation had been given, they instinctively understood how to use their respective weapons. Haruto gripped his Scythe confidently, unconsciously adjusting its position and giving it a quick spin with one hand as if he had trained with it for years.

Kanna realized she could generate fire-like thrusts from her boots, allowing her to dash sideways or propel herself several meters into the air with ease.

"This is amazing, Haruto-kun... I feel this incredible power overflowing from within me. It’s like these fire boots are an extension of my own body." Kanna said in awe, astonished by the changes and the power granted by her Sacred Madougu.

"I can’t believe I’m holding and spinning this huge, heavy Scythe so easily either, Kanna-chan... It’s like I’ve been training with it for years. And somehow, I know exactly how to use it. Is this what they call a Sacred Madougu?" Haruto replied, equally stunned by his weapon and how naturally he had been able to wield it.

As Haruto and Kanna tried to rationalize their transformations, floating holographic windows suddenly materialized before their eyes. No one else could see these displays—only Luna, who was staring at them from the large window of the conference room, seemed to be aware of their presence as well.

The screens listed data in a format reminiscent of a role-playing game.

"NO SKILLS AT ALL??!!"
Haruto and Kanna shouted simultaneously.

"How can we get these weapons, but there are no skills listed? What the hell is going on here, Haruto-kun?"
Kanna protested slightly, frowning in disbelief at the absence of any abilities.

"The screen says skills may be learned by performing certain actions. Maybe we need to discover them ourselves... or maybe even create them." Haruto was also confused, seeing no skills listed in his Madougu status screen.

But based on the note that appeared, he assumed they might have to try specific movements or actions to unlock their abilities.

Inside the Conference Room

Suddenly, Luna began to convulse. Fragmented images and small pieces of her lost memories resurfaced. Her eyes rolled white for a brief moment before returning to normal. She then turned to those around her and urgently spoke.

"Everyone, please step back from me. I’m about to summon something."

Taking a stance as if preparing to perform a ritual, Luna gathered her energy. After the crowd had taken several steps away, she raised her hand and shouted:

"ASTRAL EXAMINER DEVICE!"

In an instant, a strange-looking device materialized in her hand, projecting a transparent interface in front of her. Luna then tapped a few keys.

The screen began displaying detailed information about the Chaos Beasts:
