Leon & Noel [Final Chapter]

Leon and Noel fall through the broken world.

As they came to the realization, they were yet again at another unfamiliar place.

They were frustrated because they still couldn’t meet each other.

This world is dull. It's hazy and filled with hue.

Both of them stood in a daze and confusion.

Then, out of nowhere.

A creature emerges.

Both are alerted.

“Mortals…”

A dragon born of the cosmos. It radiates with swirling hues of deep blues, purples, and magenta space. Its body is a living constellation with wings like torn galaxies. A mythical force that seems less like a beast and more like a divine phenomenon.

“Welcome…to the true dragon realm”

Both, “True dragon realm?”

“Such an intriguing fate indeed. Both of you are present in the same place, and yet… you cannot interact.”

From the dragon's eyes, both are present side by side.

Both, “What do you mean by that?”

“So, Noel is really here?”

“So, Leon is really here?”

The dragon lets out a small laugh.

“I am the Specter Dragon, one of the many true dragons that governs this realm and the one who governs the threads of your existence. I was the one responsible for the phenomenon that brought your stories to collide.”

Both widen their eyes.

“Your desire of wanting something interesting was one of the factors, you were chosen. Nothing special at all, just our curiosity. I created the phenomenon to present an intriguing story and yes it has turned quite interesting itself. I never expected you to reach this far.”

Both have a fury surging through them, “So, you were the mastermind. What was the purpose of our suffering? What did we do to you?”

The dragon, “Nothing really. Nothing at all. You did nothing wrong. You were just living your respective lives. Didn’t I say before? It was an interesting story. Just a light entertainment”

Both are at a loss for their words, “Entertainment? Just a story?”

They wanted to refute but a hint of rationality hit their mind. They knew that the entity they faced wasn’t something they could do anything about.

“So, can we return to our lives now that your entertainment, your story has come to an end?”

The dragon smirks, “A wise question indeed”

A hint of hope rises up in their eyes.

“But…it’s not possible”

A false attempt. Leon & Noel frowns on their brows.

“It's not because the story is over. It is simply because you two cannot exist in the same realm permanently”

“What do you mean by that?”

The dragon, “We have given subtle hints about it along the way. It's not your fault to have missed it”

Both of their expression darkens.

“You two are the sides of the same coin and you know that the sides never meet each other”

“What…?”

“Leon & Noel. Boy, you have already noticed it at the beginning”

Noel, “Boy? Is Leon also here, in this same place, interacting with this dragon?”

Leon, “Leon & Noel. The opposite of the letters that contract the name. Leon backward is Noel and Noel backward is Leon. Then…”

The dragon says, “Exactly, the Leon backward is Noel and Noel backward is Leon”

Noel is hit with a realization. Only, Leon noticed this.

Then the dragon creates a frame of visual representation on two sides.

First is the Leon and Noel.

The old lady of the game center and the guild master of the adventurer guild.

Aciel and Leica.

Including other distinct yet interrelated things that didn’t appear at the same time.

Lizbeth and Rosaria.

Uncle and Natsume Maruyama.

Liz and youngest Redlaw.

The culture. The attributes along with many other things.

The dragon also reveals that the red-eyed shadow appeared to respect the time limit of their immersion and traversal. They couldn’t exist in the same plane for a long time.

Both Leon and Noel come to a shocking realization.

The dragon adds.

“The reality you believed was just a hallucination. The events you experienced were just fabricated. The dreams you experience were just dreams.”

“They were just Echoes of Dreams”

Leon and Noel sank. They were broken.

Then…Noel and Leon remembered Leica and Aciel’s words respectively.

“Reach the outcome you desire”

“Recreate your destiny”

Then, they finally decide to refute.

“I refuse to believe that!”

The dragon, “Hoh?”

“I refuse to believe that it was all fabricated. I traveled there. We had each other. We had our bond, our relationship. We had emotions involved. We created memories. We create connections. I refuse to believe it was just mere ECHOES OF DREAM”

The dragon with a subtle laugh, “Yet, you two are unable to be together even when you are standing side by side”

They are shocked to hear this. They hurriedly try to find each other. In the dragon's eyes, they are there yet missing each other. From their eyes, they are alone.

An honest desire emerges within their heart. If their bond was truly irreplaceable, then the world, please grant us a miracle. Please reunite us.

Then…slowly something occurred. The final crack. The dimensions shatter. The wall separating them broke and finally, they were able to see each other.

A tear flows down their eyes. Tears of happiness.

The dragon interrupts, “Save your emotional reunion for another time. Just be grateful that your story piques our interest. Do you really think your bond or something played any role? Meh, Such childish fantasies. I was just messing with you both from the beginning. We decided to set the story in a new direction. It was from the moment Aciel and Leica interfered. It was all for a reason. So, I hope you don’t misinterpret it as some sort of miracle”

Leon and Noel hold hands. They don’t say anything.

The dragon, “Anyway, now we’re moving on to a serious topic. We grant you a new life. You can live on together but there’s a condition and you don’t have a choice on this. Leon, you have to abandon your world”

Both widen their eyes,

“The story will not be very interesting if Noel is sent to your world. Their world is still in the medieval era. However, it doesn’t lack opportunities. We want you to rebuild that world. Out of generosity, we are granting you an additional bonus too.”

Then a screen appears, “Leica Walder will live on till the old age. Aciel will too. The hero shall get his separated love and many more”

They don’t have anything to say. Leon is just happy to think that his father will live on.

“Then, mortals…May you live a prosperous life”

Without a second warning, Leon & Noel is returned back to Noel’s world.

They return to the mansion.

To their surprise…Many things have changed.

Aciel, now all recovered welcomes them. Uncle along with Rosario stood at the sidelines.

This is how the story ends. Leon and Noel live happily.

“Is this how you wanted it to end?”

The specter dragon appears on the screen. It's interacting directly with the readers.
