A Week Talk #1

Wow wee, what a week. Honestly, I feel fresh, and it feels like so much fun writing a novel without restriction.

But before we get into that, I want to discuss something I found this week.

1) Saberspark
You all probably don't know this, but I've been a fan of Saber for quite some time. His humor is actually on par with mine, which makes me feel comfortable watching his content.
So, imagine my surprise when I heard he was in a drama recently.

When I got into researching the drama, it felt dumb. I was so sure one of my favorite YouTubers was going to get exposed and... well, I had to cast them aside and move on. But it's far from that. In the time I wrote this, I just finished his video about the allegation, and it sounded like he is so hopelessly trying to not only clear his name but also stop haters from harassing him, his family, and his close friend but mainly he tried to provide evidence that KP was the one who was a pyscho or something.

Now I know I'm not the biggest fan of Saber, but he is one of my favorites, so I want to just say my piece and move along.
It's dumb. That's it.
I'm still so baffled by exposé video. It's... a weird concept of "entertainment". I mean, think about it, okay. You watch someone describing a weird person and giving proof of them being weird. But yet somehow, everyone enjoys watching and talking about it? Like, hello?

I mean, yeah, we get the info that the said person is weird and needs to go to jail, but shouldn't we... I don't know... call the police first or something? Then, after they ACTUALLY get exposed, we make fun of them. Not the other way around.

I don't know, man, it's weird.

But anyway, yeah. I'm happy Saber actually doesn't do anything really gross or something foul, and he even provides a lot of things about KP that actually matter. W Saber. Hopefully, you can go through this hard time, man. I'm rooting for you.

2) DA Game
Ohhhh boy, about this one, however.
Now, I don't really know about Will. A. Ryan personally, other than he is a friend of Ryan from 8-bit Ryan, and Ryan from Bazamalam... Yeah, you heard that correctly, these three have the same name.

It's hard for me to accept that he has a weird personality irl behind his channel, because from what I heard and watched over from 8-bit Ryan, he is just a funny guy. I never even once thought he had a dark secret.

I can't say much other than hopefully it didn't impact Ryan, Baz, Dawko, and Raz. I just wish he could prove himself not guilty... again felt weird whenever it happened. Why are we in love with exposé videos? It's just weird.

3) Webtoon
Now, let's cast both of those aside and talk about this hell of an app/web.
What the f*ck was that new update?
Like, seriously. WHAT THE F*CK?

I am so done with this app. They provide NOTHING to make the reader stay, and even worse, they hold hostage some creator. You know why? Well, let's just say, one Indonesian author came out some time ago saying that she didn't even want to put her series into daily pass yet, but the company forced her to.

OOOOOW ho ho ho that was interesting, wasn't it?

Let's dive into it, shall we?
But before that, let me be clear before people call me a hypocrite. No! I'm not making an accusation or anything about Webtoon. This is a well-known fact about the app/web, and I'm just ranting about it.

First of all, the new update. What is the point of "new & hot"? Why does it look like YouTube Short/TikTok/Reels and many that have similar features? Is promoting on said platform not enough? Therefore, you guys make a promotion section so we, as readers, read slops?

Hah! No chance! It's a waste of space, and it's not consumer-friendly. You know why? Because you all higher-ups from Webtoon literally shove a bad series into our faces.

Let's get this straight, alright. You have TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Reels to promote your title, so why feel the need to make it again in the app? Why? Just why?

The initial Webtoon already left after the coins update, now you just made me, and some people left. I hate changes like this, it's not good. It felt like it's not Webtoon anymore. It felt like social media, especially with the creator feed. You all realize that it literally looks and does the same as Reddit or 4chan, yeah? Because it is! You see what I'm getting at?

Take a look at MangaUp or MangaPlus! Do both apps try their best to blend with the trend? NO! They stick with their brand. It makes them more unique and pleasing to use. Unlike Webtoon now.
What happened, man? Why can't we have simple things?

Also, the translation page. You all, Webtoon's higher-ups, still care about this? Because let me just tell you this, web single-handedly makes other language Webtoon from other versions become popular. Like Flawless and Eggnoid, for example. Don't you think it's a bit much to block the daily pass and fast pass episodes from being translated by fans to fans?

I think that's too much. Heck, I'm actually glad MangaDex is still doing well, they provide more than the actual official fan translation web of Webtoon.

Overall, the worst update of all time. But who knows, they might pull out a more diabolical move in the future.
I might want to come back to this and talk about that one Indonesian author, but for now, that's it.

Alright, that all gets out of the way, now we talk about "The Triple Date" and "I'm Finally Going Adventuring."

So, how's a week with The Triple Date? Is it good?
I don't know if a lot of you are Indonesian. If you are, thanks for reading that. But if you aren't, I'm so happy you picked this one for your first Indonesian novel read. I swear I was so nervous that my novel wouldn't get any views, but man, how wrong I was.

Within 24 hours, I get more views than Makorinama, that said, something, man.
I think it is a good choice I made, that story. I'm also so happy with the result.

But IFGA, however, I am still struggling with the pacing and want to develop it more. I have it ready in the edit section, I just haven't considered uploading it.

I want IFGA to be a big story and don't want to lose people's expectations. That's why I'm trying my best to make it good.
