Chapter 20:

Episode 20 - The Company Party: Ryoko the Witch Strikes Again

My Telekinetic Office Lady Girlfriend Is Way Too Powerful!

The year-end company party was in full swing.

Held in a hotel banquet hall, employees chatted, laughed, and enjoyed drinks together. And then—

“Alright everyone, it’s time for the entertainment portion of the night!”

The emcee’s voice echoed through the hall, followed by cheers and applause. One by one, employees took the stage to show off their party tricks—until someone spoke up:

“Ryoko-senpai, you should do something too!”

“Me?”

Ryoko tilted her head slightly. The crowd chimed in eagerly:

“Yeah, we wanna see something!”

“Do something fun!”

“Well then… just a little something ♪”

With a smile, Ryoko snapped her fingers.

CLAP!

The lights in the hall suddenly went dim.

From the shadows emerged Ryoko—clad in a sleek black robe and pointed hat, dressed in a full-on witch costume.

“Now then… shall we begin the show?”

The witch had arrived.

“Whoa!! That’s awesome!”

“When did she change outfits!?”

With everyone stunned, Ryoko slowly raised her hand.

“I shall now show you… real magic ♪”

She pulled a spoon from the sleeve of her robe.

“This spoon… I shall bend it with my powers ♡”

She hovered her hand over it—

Crrrreeak…

“What the heck!?”

“It’s bending!?”

“Wait, is this real!?”

Gasps spread across the room. But Ryoko was only just getting started.

“Next… I’ll levitate this wine glass ♡”

She pointed to a glass on the table—

And it floated up smoothly into the air.

“HUH!? WHAT!?”

“There’s no wires!? Is this a trick!?”

As some employees fumbled for their phones to record it—

Ah-ah. No pictures, please.

Ryoko smiled gently, and without explanation, the phones lowered themselves.

(Wait, why did I just… stop recording…!?)

The room collectively followed her “magic” without even realizing it.

“And now, for the grand finale ♡”

She turned and locked eyes with Shota.

In that instant, his heart skipped a beat and his cheeks flushed.

He couldn’t look away.

Pointing directly at him, Ryoko grinned.

“Shota-kun, come here ♡”

“Wait—me!?”

Shota stumbled forward, unable to resist her gaze or her words.

“Shota-kun… you’re going to want to kiss me now ♡”

“Wha—wait, no, hang on—”

Too late.

Suddenly, an overwhelming rush of affection swept over Shota. He couldn’t resist.

He leaned in and kissed Ryoko’s cheek.

“WHAAAAAAAA!?”

“Yo is that… is this real hypnosis!?”

“She’s a real witch, isn’t she!?”

The crowd burst into a frenzy. Ryoko smiled triumphantly while Shota, crimson-faced, looked down in embarrassment.

“Hope you all enjoyed the witch’s magic show ♡”

“Y-yes ma’am…”

“What is Ryoko-senpai…?”

They were stunned—and completely bewitched.

When the Boss Goes Too Far

Ryoko’s magical performance burned itself into everyone’s memory.

For most, it was just dazzling entertainment. But for one man… it flipped a switch.

Section Chief Yamagishi (50s, single)

“Ryoko-kun! That was phenomenal! Absolutely outstanding!”

Later in the party, with a drink in hand and a grin on his face, Yamagishi approached Ryoko.

“A woman as beautiful and talented as you… and still single? That’s a loss for the company!”

“Ahaha… thank you.”

Ryoko smiled politely, hoping to deflect him. But Yamagishi pressed on.

“You know… I’ve been thinking it’s time I settled down. What do you say?

Would you consider dating me—with marriage in mind?

“……Excuse me?”

The room temperature dropped ten degrees.

Even Shota froze.

(WHAT THE HELL DID HE JUST SAY!?)

Shota thought he’d misheard. But no—Yamagishi was dead serious.

Ryoko, still smiling, replied calmly:

“I’m sorry, Chief.

There’s already someone I’ve chosen.”

“What!? Who! Who is he!?”

And then—

“ME!!”

Shota stepped up.

“…Huh?”

Everyone turned in unison.

(I said it… oh no oh no oh no!)

Beet red, Shota raised his voice.

“I live with Ryoko-senpai!

So no—there’s no way I’m letting you take her from me!”

“Wha—what did you say…?”

Yamagishi’s face twisted in disbelief.

“You’d defy me?”

“I’m your superior, boy. Opposing me puts your position at risk.”

Straight-up workplace harassment.

But Shota didn’t flinch.

“……I love Ryoko-senpai!!”

“Shota-kun… ♡”

Ryoko smiled. And then—

“Then I’ll just have to teach you a lesson—”

Yamagishi lunged forward—

BOOM!!

“—NGHH!?”

Yamagishi went flying.

“…WHAT!?”

No one saw what happened. But they all noticed Ryoko’s finger twitch.

Still smiling, she looked down at the stunned boss.

“Chief… why don’t you take a moment to cool your head?”

CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!

Yamagishi’s body moved against his will, tumbling into a pile of beer crates in the corner of the room.

“GURGH!? M-my body!! It’s moving on its own!!”

Ryoko approached, smiling sweetly.

“It’s witch magic, of course ♡”

Silence. Awe. Fear.

“Ryoko-senpai… might actually be a real witch…”

“Shota… how do you live with her…?”

“And the boss—uh… what’s work going to be like tomorrow?”

The hall fell quiet. But as Shota watched Ryoko standing proudly, he thought:

(Yeah… I’ll never be able to leave this woman.)

Of Course, Ryoko Handles the Cleanup

Once the party ended, Ryoko gently took Shota’s hand.

“Well… that may have been a little too flashy.”

“A little!? You sent the boss flying into beer crates!! Everyone saw that!!”

Ryoko gave him a mischievous smile.

“Hehe, don’t worry ♡ Time for some cleanup.”

With a flick of her fingers, she adjusted everyone’s neurochemical levels.

And then—

“Huh? Why do I feel so drunk?”

“Wait, where’d the boss go?”

“I remember party tricks… but witch? Who was that…?”

Faces went blank.

Memories blurred.

Soon, everyone remembered the evening as just a normal party.

“Perfect ♡”

Ryoko winked at Shota.

“You’ve done this before… haven’t you?”

“Of course ♪ Can’t let anyone find out about my powers, right?”

Shota shivered.

(How many times… has she done this behind the scenes…?)

But Ryoko’s voice soothed his thoughts.

“But Shota-kun…

**I’ll never erase your memories.**♡”

She hugged his arm tightly.

(…Yeah. That’s fine. I really do love her.)

Shota chuckled softly and wrapped an arm around her shoulders.

Thus, the “Incident with the Chief”

was wiped from everyone’s memory—

and Ryoko and Shota’s bond grew even stronger.
