Chapter 3:

Reincarnation?

Oops, we're immortal

Strange voices echoed through Elara’s mind...
They were muffled, full of static and reverb.
She couldn’t make out a single word.

Slowly, she opened her eyes—blurry shapes came into focus until she saw a tall man with horns standing right in front of her.

“Hey, you! Get up already. This isn’t nap time!”

Elara groaned under her breath.
“Even if I get sent to another world, someone who acts like Dorian just has to show up and annoy me.”

The man crouched down, picked her up, and slung her over his shoulder without asking.
Elara blinked, confused—and then panicked. She started punching the back of his head.

“Put me down, you overgrown unicorn! Where do you think you’re taking me?!”

But her punches didn’t seem to bother him at all.

“Stop yelling, girl. That place you were lying in—way too dangerous. I’m taking you to my base. It’s safer there.”

Elara suddenly grew suspicious.
She realized she hadn’t even checked where she had woken up.

“Excuse me, Mr. Cow-Uni—”
The man cut her off.

“Ben. My name’s Ben. Don’t strain your brain too hard.”

With a sarcastic smirk, Elara muttered,
“Ben, huh? Weirdly normal name for someone who looks like you.”

Trying to stay serious, she suddenly shouted,
“Anyway! What graveyard from hell even is this?!”

Ben shrugged.
“Good question. Honestly? I don’t know where we are either.”

That made Elara pause. She stared at him, confused.

“Wait... are you saying you came from the same place I did?”

Ben casually stuck a finger in his ear, pulled out some gunk, and replied,
“The place you came from? Eh.”

Elara’s eyes lit up.
“Seriously? Which city are you from?”

“City? Nah, I meant I came outta my mother’s womb too.”

Elara’s excitement died on the spot.
“You just had to ruin the moment instead of answering like a normal person?”

She squirmed around on his shoulder.
“Can you please put me down? I’m not paralyzed, I can walk, ugh—Ben.”

Ben glanced at her face.
“Lemme guess… not a fan of piggyback rides, huh?”
"That’s not what I meant. I just don’t like riding on people."

Ben hesitated for a few seconds, then gently set her down.

“Just try not to wander off. This area’s pretty dangerous.”

Elara finally took a moment to look around…
A lush, vibrant world—clear skies, fresh air, colorful birds fluttering through the trees, and peaceful sounds like a flowing river and soft chirping all around…

All of that peacefulness came to an abrupt end when Elara’s face slammed right into the entrance door of Ben’s base.

That’s the second tiiiiiiiiiiiiiime!!
