Chapter 2:

The Awakening of Radis

Kiro: The Reincarnation of Radis

Kiro sat there, frozen on his bed, his trembling hands resting on his knees. Radis's words swirled in his mind like a storm refusing to dissipate. I am within you... The sentence echoed endlessly in his head, like a haunting melody he couldn’t shut out. Radis, the legendary mage—the greatest sorcerer the world had ever known—was now inside him. But why? How? His thoughts collided, jostling for clarity, but no clear path emerged.

Radis’s voice, deep and wise, suddenly cut through the turmoil in his mind.

"Kiro, listen to me." The voice was calm, but carried an unmistakable urgency. "You cannot run. You don’t have the luxury of doubt. It’s time to begin."

The young man closed his eyes, his breathing quickening. A shiver of panic rose within him, but he fought to contain it. He forced himself to think clearly. Magic... it was the magic he had always dreamed of mastering. But not like this. Not with an entire legend living inside his head.

Why me? Kiro wondered again, the question eating away at his thoughts.

Radis’s voice responded almost instantly, as if reading his mind:
"Because you are the one who carries the reincarnation. We are bound, Kiro. This isn’t about luck—it’s about destiny."

The boy shook his head, trying to push away the waves of confusion crashing over him. He had always believed he would never achieve anything great. He’d always felt like a failure among the other students at the magic academy. His constant failures, his botched spells... all of it seemed trivial compared to what he had just learned.

And now I’m supposed to carry a legend within me?

Radis’s voice grew stronger, more insistent.
"Trust me, Kiro. We have been through more than you can imagine. And you will inherit my power."
A heavy silence fell in Kiro’s mind.
"The first thing you need to understand is this: we are not two. We are one."

A cold shiver ran down Kiro’s spine. What he had just heard was more than words. It was a warning.

"But... how? What am I supposed to do?" Kiro whispered, almost in desperation. He had no idea how to handle such a situation. He had always wanted to learn magic—but never like this.

"Breathe, Kiro." Radis’s voice was paradoxically gentle, considering the weight of the moment.
"Relax. I will guide you. We’ll start slowly. You’re going to learn how to open yourself to your power."

Kiro swallowed hard. Open himself to his power. The word power carried a strange resonance. He had heard tales of mages who could tear down mountains or redirect rivers. But him? He was just a desperate boy trying to find his place among others.

"Look at your hands." Radis’s voice pierced his thoughts.
Kiro looked up and stared at his hands, still trembling, as if unsure what he was supposed to do with them.
"They are the channel of your potential. Call upon your magic. I will help you release it."

Kiro took a deep breath, his hands still resting on his knees. He closed his eyes, trying to center himself. He had tried casting spells before. He had failed every time, but today… today felt different. He felt a strange weight in his body, a gentle warmth radiating from his core to his fingertips.

Radis’s voice whispered like a breath in his mind:
"Focus, Kiro. Call on the magic that slumbers within you."

Kiro shuddered at the thought of what he was about to attempt, but he obeyed. He clenched his eyes shut, feeling the energy deep inside him, like a calm sea ready to rise.

Then, all at once, he felt a surge—a spike of heat shooting into his hands. His eyes flew open, his breath caught. A light—faint, but unmistakably real—sparked at his fingertips.

Kiro stared, eyes wide. He had done it. It was a beginning. Not much, but enough to know that what he had felt wasn’t an illusion. It wasn’t a dream.

Radis, his voice tinged with palpable satisfaction, exclaimed:
"There. This is only the beginning, Kiro. But you’ve just released a fragment of my power. The road ahead will be long, but I’ll be with you."

Kiro fell back onto his bed, heart pounding. He was afraid. Afraid of the unknown, of what he had just awakened inside himself. But also… a spark of hope. If this continued, maybe—just maybe—he would finally discover his true strength.

Radis’s voice echoed again, calm and resolute:
"Mastery takes time. But you have it within you. And together, we will rebuild what you once thought impossible."

Kiro closed his eyes, trying to steady his thoughts. There was no more room for doubt. What had begun as a simple magical mishap was now his reality. And that reality… was going to change his life forever.
