Chapter 9: "Awakening Confessions

My Cat Turned Into a Girl, and Now She Calls Me Master!!

That night, Kai stands by the window of his apartment. The city lights flicker peacefully. Yuki’s asleep on the couch, curled up under a blanket. Her breathing is calm.

Kai, softly:“Everything feels… perfect. Maybe too perfect.”He turns away from the window and tosses his jacket on the chair.

A crinkle.Kai pauses. He reaches into the pocket and pulls out a folded note, yellowed like it’s been there forever.The handwriting is elegant. Not his. Not any of his friends’.

“You think it’s over?The dream was only the first door.You’ve seen nothing yet.....Zoya”

Kai’s breath catches. He looks toward Yuki still peacefully sleeping. He reads the note again. Then again. His hands tremble.

Suddenly…The mirror in the hallway catches his eye.He walks toward it slowly, heart pounding. He stares at his reflection.It stares back.

But then it smirks.His reflection smirks.Kai doesn’t.His body jolts back in shock, heart racing.Kai: “What the hell?”

But when he looks again, the reflection is normal. No smirk. No movement.He stumbles back, breathing heavily.Behind him, Yuki stirs.Yuki, half-awake“Kai? What’s wrong?”

Kai turns to answer… but the lights suddenly flicker. Once. Twice. Then go out.Complete darkness.A cold voice whispers directly into his ear, though no one is there

“The Rift never closed. It followed you.”

Kai’s eyes snapped open, but something was immediately wrong. He blinked, trying to move his limbs only to realize he was… a cat. Soft fur, tiny paws, and a twitching tail. Panic rose in his chest as the room came into focus. Just then, the door creaked open.

Yuki stepped inside, her eyes lighting up at the sight of the feline Kai. “Aww, Kai, you look cute as always,” she cooed, reaching out to stroke his fur.
Kai’s mind scrambled, unable to form words. How had he turned into a cat? And why was Yuki here?
Before he could react, Yuki scooped him up gently. “Come here, Kai. It’s bath time.”

“Wait, what?!” Kai’s silent protest was drowned out by the sound of running water and Yuki carrying him toward the bathroom.

The warm spray of water and soft suds soon surrounded him as Yuki carefully cleaned his furry body.

Kai squirmed awkwardly, overwhelmed by the strange intimacy of the moment.

Suddenly, Yuki hummed to herself. “Hmm, maybe I should take a bath too.”
Kai’s ears twitched as he watched her start removing her clothes, piece by piece.

His tiny cat face flushed in embarrassment. No, this can’t be real… Yuki, what are you doing?!

Before he could process any more, everything blurred again.
He jolted awake this time back in his human form.

But something was off. He wasn’t in his familiar apartment. The soft sheets and muted hotel room lights made his heart race.A voice slithered through the quiet room smooth, teasing, and utterly familiar.

“You were talking to another woman in your dreams… Mmm, I think you deserve a little punishment.”“Toie?!” Kai’s voice cracked with shock and panic.

Toie was straddling Kai, a teasing smile playing on her lips.“Mmm, so Kai… who’s Yuki?” she purred, voice dripping with playful challenge.Kai’s heart pounded, eyes wide in disbelief. “W-what do you think you’re doing, Toie?”

She leaned closer, her voice sultry and low. “Mm, what do you mean? You said you wanted to do... it tonight.”“K-w-what do you mean by ‘do it’ tonight?” Kai stammered, panic rising.

Toie smirked, eyes gleaming with mischief. “Oh, so you want to play like that? Mmm, I like that. You deserve a reward.”Slowly, she started sliding Kai’s shirt up, inch by inch.

Suddenly, Kai jolted awake back in his apartment, gasping.“Ahh, what a strange dream…” he muttered, trying to steady his breath.

Then a soft voice called out, “What dream, Kaiii?”
He froze, then turned to see Kaoe sitting comfortably on his bed, eyes sparkling with mischief.
“K-Kaoe?!” Kai’s shock was palpable.

Kai, still wide-eyed from the emotional rollercoaster, sits on the bed with Kaoe on one side and Mina still clinging to his arm sniffling softly.

Kai thinking "Okay... I’m in bed… with Kaoe… who’s calling me her husband… and Mina… is our daughter? Yep. Sanity just jumped out the window.”

Kaoe, smirking: “Are you just gonna sit there staring or are you gonna make breakfast for your lovely wife and child?”Kai “Breakfast… right… for my family… totally normal.”

Cut to the kitchen. Kai is trying to make pancakes. Keyword: trying.Mina: “Papa, you burned the pancake again…”Kai “That was... experimental. Charcoal flavor. Very gourmet.”

Kaoe “Are you trying to kill us or teach Mina survival skills in case of a cooking apocalypse?”

Suddenly, Mina walks in with Kai’s boots on her hands and a saucepan on her head.

Mina: “Look! I’m a battle chef warrior princess!”Kai “That’s… honestly kinda impressive.”Kaoe, laughing “Definitely my daughter.”

Later, they all sit together on the couch. Mina is watching cartoons, completely absorbed. Kai is barely holding it together.

Kai whispering to himself “Okay, either this is the weirdest dream ever… or someone spiked my food with magic mushrooms.”

Kaoe, resting her head on his shoulder: “You know… you make a pretty good dad.”

Kai: “If burning pancakes and panicking 24/7 is the standard, I guess I’m father of the year.”

Mina, suddenly “Papa! Let’s play house!”

Kai: “Aren’t we already doing that!?”

She drags him onto the floor. Mina hands him a stuffed bunny.

Min “You’re the bunny’s husband. Mommy is the queen. And I’m the dragon!”Kai: “...I feel like this is emotionally symbolic somehow.”

Kaoe, with a crown made of utensils: “Bow to your queen, bunny-husband.”Kai, sighs: “Yes, my fire-breathing child and kitchenware monarch wife…”

Kai slowly opens his eyes.He blinks. Once. Twice.He’s… back. In his apartment. In his own bed.

Kai “…Okay… okay… finally, reality…”But something’s off.He freezes.

Standing right around his bed staring at him while he slept are Yuki, Kaoe, Toie, and Mina.All smiling.Kai shoots up like a rocket.

Kai “AHHHH! What the !? Okay! WHAT IS THIS?! Is this another dream?! Someone slap me!”

Mina hands on her hips, beaming “Relax, sleepyhead! My magic worked perfectly, didn’t it?”Kai:“Wait. What magic WHAT are you talking about?!”

Mina “The whole dream! You know… becoming a cat, the hotel stuff, the family fun. That was all part of our plan!”Kai, blinking rapidly “…Come again?”

Mina pointing to each girl proudly “That part where you turned into a cat and Yuki gave you a bath? Her idea.”

Yuki blushing slightly, smiling sweetly “You looked adorable as a kitty, Kai.”Mina still pointing “And the spicy hotel part? Yeah… Toie cooked that one up.”

Toie flashing a teasing smile, crossing her arms “Well, you did say you wanted to do it tonight… or at least in your dream, you did~”

Kai, turning red “WH-WHAT?! I never said that!! I I was dreaming!! That wasn’t me!! That was DREAM ME!!”Toie leans in close “Ohhh? Dream-you was very convincing.”

Mina, ignoring the chaos

“Anyway! The final family part with me as your daughter and Kaoe as your wife? That was our masterpiece!”Kaoe arms folded, trying to look composed but clearly flustered

“You forgot your own daughter, Kai. Unforgivable.”Mina, fake crying “Papa forgot meeeee!”Kai, spinning in place like a broken record

“I—what—how—is this even LEGAL?!” Yuki:“You should be thanking us. You just got a full simulation of all our love.”

Kai, hands on his face:“Oh my god… I was a lab rat in a magical romantic dream experiment. I’m gonna lose my mind.”Toie, winking “Don’t worry. We’ll make the next one even better.”

Mina “Next time, we’re adding zombies and a space wedding!”Kai pulling blanket over his face “ I’m never sleeping again.”

Kaoe, slightly smirking now:“We’ll just make you sleep. Remember, Mina has magic.”Kai, muffled under the blanket:

“I live in fear.”
