Chapter 29:

WRATH OF THE GREAT DESTROYER

Final Chapter

A few weeks had passed since the beginning of Hanz’s intense training, and with the cooperation of his inner demon, his control over Kantar had evolved rapidly. Under Hannah’s guidance, he had learned to grasp watered-down versions of three advanced Kantar techniques with surprising ease.

Watching his progress, Hannah beamed with pride.
"As expected from a fully realized demon hybrid," she said, smirking. "You’ve nailed the basics. I can't lie—you even managed to replicate a weaker version of one of my techniques. The way you are now… You could probably take down an army of second-class demons."

Hanz grinned. “So, does that mean I’m ready?”

But her smile vanished, replaced by a cold, stern gaze.
“Try if you want, but you’re not ready yet. Your brother would still defeat you with ease.”

The grin faded from Hanz’s face. Annoyed, he clenched his fists.
“What do you mean by that? I’ve done everything you told me—and more. Yet you say I’m not ready? That’s crap. You just don’t want me to go because you’re scared I’ll lose.”

Hannah looked at him for a long moment, then let out a cold laugh.
“Fine then. I’ll show you how weak you still are. Let’s spar. If you beat me, I won’t stop you from going after your brother. But if you lose, you’ll shut up and follow my orders. Your brother is on par with me… if not stronger.”

A fire lit up in Hanz’s eyes. He took a stance, extending his sword to its full length.
“Alright then—you’re on,” he said with a cocky grin. “I’m gonna wipe your ass.”

Hannah ignored the bravado. Her purple kantar flared, and she vanished in a burst of speed. Hanz barely managed to dodge her opening strike and countered with a slash at her back, only to strike nothing but air.

"An afterimage," he growled, narrowing his eyes.

He closed them, spreading faint traces of Kantar across the forest in an attempt to detect her. The moment he sensed her presence—snap—Hannah’s foot connected with his neck, sending him crashing into the dirt, his neck twisted at an unnatural angle.

But Hanz recovered almost instantly. His kantor healed him as he twisted his neck back into place. He dashed forward, sword swinging—but again, Hannah dodged and went for his neck. Suddenly, the world slowed around Hanz. Time itself seemed to crawl.

Grinning, he dodged easily and landed a clean slash across her chest. The moment returned to real-time, and Hannah’s kantar began healing her wound.

“Not bad,” she said, mildly impressed.

Hanz wasn’t done. He flared his dark kantar, charging it into the tip of his blade before unleashing a massive black arc toward her. But Hannah caught it between two fingers. It disintegrated instantly.

Before she could react, Hanz was already in front of her—his earlier attack just a diversion. His sword transformed into a staff, and he extended it skyward, launching her into the air. With his opponent airborne, he summoned a giant orb of dark kantar and hurled it at her. The resulting explosion rocked the forest.

As the smoke cleared, Hanz smiled triumphantly—until he saw Hannah, untouched, standing calmly amid the destruction.

“If that was your finishing move,” she said with a smirk, “you’re barely stronger than a weak second-class demon.”

Hanz’s expression darkened. His pupils shifted, red, vertically slitted. The dark aura around him intensified.
“Hannah… I’m going to prove myself to you—right here and now!”

He moved faster than the eye could follow, slashing at her, but she effortlessly dodged and jabbed him in the back. The force sent him crashing into the ground, coughing blood.

Hannah crouched beside him, gripping his hair.
“Still think you can beat me?”

Hanz growled, blood dripping from his mouth. He was on the verge of blacking out, but refused to give in. The world around him shifted. He found himself inside his Kantar realm.

His demon sat before him, grinning.
“Hey there, partner. You’re getting your ass handed to you. Pretty disgraceful.”

“Shut up and send me back,” Hanz snapped.

The demon chuckled.
“You seem eager to die. Unfortunately, we share the same body. I’m not looking forward to dying just yet.”

Its eyes glowed red, and so did Hanz’s body. His skin turned pale, then white. A curved white horn emerged from the left side of his head. His Kantar erupted violently, forming a dense sphere around him that exploded outward in a blast of black light.

When the dust cleared, Hanz stood transformed—white skin, glowing red eyes, and a demonic aura unlike anything Hannah had ever felt. He charged forward and grabbed Hannah by the face, hurling her through several trees.

She recovered quickly, muttering, “He gave in to his demon… that bastard.”

The two clashed mid-air with a shockwave that shattered the entire forest.

Hanz leapt back, letting out a demonic roar. Black kantar surged from his body, and his red eyes turned pitch black. Hannah froze in shock. His aura… it was worse than any demon king’s.

Before she could act, Hanz fired a beam of raw kantar from his mouth, scorching her body. She quickly shielded herself and retreated.

That wasn't even a kantar technique… that was just raw kantar.
If he keeps fighting like this, he’ll destroy himself.

“I have to end this,” she whispered. “Olethros… let’s go.”

Her eyes glowed purple as her kantar surged. Wings made of energy burst from her back. A purple crown formed above her head.

“Kantar Manifestation: Wrath of the Great Destroyer.”

She teleported in front of Hanz and struck him with a devastating punch. He barely reacted in time, throwing his sword to the ground and teleporting to its location just before her second punch landed. As she closed in again, he stabbed her through the chest.

She fell, coughing blood.

Expressionless, Hanz charged a massive orb of dark kantar, aiming it at her—

But in that instant, Hannah’s kantar burst outward in a final explosion. Everything within range turned to nothing. Hanz barely survived, reverting to his normal form, unconscious and bleeding.

Hannah stood weakly, her wounds healing slowly.
“You’re in so much trouble when you wake up…”

Just then, a sinister aura approached. A humanoid demon appeared, covered in jagged, protruding scales. It had two horns like Hanz’s, long white hair, and a deep blue glow in its eyes.

Its voice dripped with authority and malice.
“I’m here to retrieve the second son of the Demon Lord Wolfking. Step away, or die.”

Hannah stared the demon down, laughing weakly.
“People like you don’t get to talk to me that way. You’ll learn some manners.”

She closed her eyes.
“Olethros, activate Overdrive.”

Her Kantar surged. Steam hissed from her skin. Her wings spread wider. A glowing crown hovered above her as she rose into the air.

“Kantar Manifestation—Wrath of the Great Destroyer.”

The demon entered its battle stance, black kantar with blue lightning spiraling around it.

Hannah looked down at the demon, then back at Hanz’s unconscious body.
“You owe me big time. You don’t know the half of what I’m sacrificing for this.”

Her wings spread, glowing brighter as her aura crackled with destruction.

“This place…” she said, raising her hand, “won’t be your burial ground.
Because when I’m done, there won’t be anything left.”
