Chapter 2:
Passenger Terminal 2
Chapter Two: Truth in Light
A heavy silence fell over the lobby after Jessie revealed the white weasel hidden in Mr. Fenwick's hat. The gazes of the audience shifted between the clever little girl and the tiny animal, which curled up like a living snowball.
One of the British guests (loudly protesting):
"How could he be a thief?! He's just a pet!"
Jessie (with childlike spontaneity, holding up the gleaming metal pendant in her hand):
"Because he's not alone..."
Then, with a quick movement, she flipped the pendant toward the chandelier light, a bright beam reflecting off the jacket of one of the Indian guests. Suddenly, a flashing black spot moved within the folds of the fabric, revealing a black female weasel clutching a glittering blue jewel between its teeth.
Mrs. Patel (screaming as she backed away):
"That's impossible! How did those monsters get in here?!"
But Jessie moved like a master chess player. She approached Mrs. Patel, then gently took the baby's hand, revealing her palms, stained with blue wax.
Jessie (holding the baby's hand up to the audience):
"The real gem was never stolen... because this—" (pointing to the fake gem in the black ferret's hand)
"—is made of colored wax. And Mrs. Patel knows because she made it!"
Mr. Fenwick (pale):
"But... why?!"
Jessie (looking at him sadly):
"Because this baby is your dead brother's son... and the rightful heir to your company."
The Missing Link:
While everyone was astonished, Jessie revealed the hidden thread:
Mrs. Patel was the secret wife of Mr. Fenwick's brother, who died under mysterious circumstances after being denied his inheritance.
The fake gem was part of an elaborate plan to get Mr. Fenwick to publicly accuse her, which would lead to a scandal that would reveal the forged will.
The two coaches' weasels were her means of stealing "evidence"—letters in the box proving Mr. Fenwick's involvement in his brother's death.
The Twist Ending:
When Mr. Fenwick realized the baby was his brother's blood, he collapsed. But the police later raided the place... only to find Mrs. Patel had disappeared, leaving behind the fake jewel and a photo of the baby with a single word written in blood: "The game is not over yet."
