Life Among Simplicity

Ayumi was a girl who lived alone in a small town. She had a house with a small yard where she did gardening and grew beautiful flowers. With small things she collected from the forest and by the river, she made jewelry and took them to the market to sell.

She usually cooked at home, read books, and sometimes painted. She had a friend in the neighborhood named Miyuki who would visit her, and when she came, they spent happy hours together. They ate food, and Miyuki would kindly tell Ayumi about the events she had heard of. They took care of the flowers and shared joyful moments.

Ayumi believed life could be very simple. She wasn’t looking for extraordinary things. She easily accepted whatever happened. But life had many hardships. Her living conditions were quite average, but she didn’t complain. She had gotten used to the loneliness that was always with her and had to solve her problems on her own.
