Chapter 1:

The Begining of the ascent

Endure: The Emperor's Ascent

It's a nice day outside, a perfect day to live. So sunny, so warm. I am currently walking down the stairs after leaving class.

The school was very crowded and full of students as I just walk down the stairs, ignoring them.

“I can't wait to see my friends after school.” He murmurs as he retrieves his skateboard from his reasonably spacious locker.
I open my phone, use an app to verify the location my friend sent me, and I start skating to the location.
The wind was brushing by my skin as I skate uninterrupted in the beautiful city with vibrant colors in the capital of the city, Tokyo.
The place is pretty far away! as I check the distance again.I said, a little agitated,

I open a bottle of water I brought in my school bag and stop for a moment to catch my breath while gazing at the lovely city.
In addition, I feel reinvigorated after sprinkling some cold water on my head and resume skating.
After skating for seemingly several hours, I finally make it into the area of town where the location was.
The sun had been in my eyes the entire time I was skating, but now that it was going down, I could see without squinting.

I pick up my skateboard, and slow down on a small road, and begin to walk.
In reality, it seems to be a factory of around ordinary size. Two of my pals, Michael (whom I call Mickey) and Kugi, were at the front.
Although Mikey has never been local, we supported him in blending in.
This better be worth it, I say, looking around the place.

Trust me, it is! I actually researched this time. Kugi said with joy in his tone.

Like, you can research Mikey teased Kugi

I always had a passion for exploring, and when I was introduced to exploring abandoned places, I instantly got hooked into it!

Do you guys have everything? I ask curiously.

Yeah: flashlights, masks, walkie-talkies, and some snacks and water, Mikey says.

We enter and begin exploring and chatting with each other as our flashlights give enough light for us to see. Why couldn't Asho also come? Kugi asks.

He was unable to make it because of some family-related things. Kugi responds, sounding a bit relieved.

That's why he was unable to answer my phone. I said as I was climbing the stairs. We looked around for a while as we talked and played around. It was starting to go dark.

Dust fills the air, and every breath smells like dust and rust. Every step I take causes the factory's empty place to echo with the sound of our shoes, disrupting the silence. Above, a worn “SAFETY FIRST” sign barely clings to the crumbling wall.

So much for this sign, Mikey says as he grabs it from the wall and tosses it outside a broken window.
Watch it! You could alert someone, Kugi says furiously.
Doesn't your brain think before you do things like this?
Don't you guys think we should go? We have school tomorrow, I say, knowing they don't care about my question.
Just five more minutes, Kugi says, practically begging.
Fine but we explored every part of it already what more I said, looking at him Ok, did you at least record?
I ask him as I look around. Guys, come here! An echo could be heard all through the building as we hurried to see what the commotion was about.
Great, you still aren't thinking, Kugi said, looking at Mikey. Here, help me push this. Mikey said in a hurry.
I look at Kugi, and he looks at me with a dumbfounded expression.
Ok, but after this we go home, I said.
We pushed, placing our hands on the metal drawer. The metal scraped the factory floor, and it was a heavy drawer. We were considered to be fairly strong for our age, but it was so heavy that the three of us barely managed to shove it out of the way.
Damn, what's this? A door of some kind, Mikey did you know that this was here I asked curiously while looking at the dusty door.
Yeah, I saw it behind the locker. Now, if you don't mind me, let's see what's here. Mikey puts his hand on the door hinge and pushes.
Inside, it was dark, but we flashed our lights with our flashlights, revealing a staircase leading down.
What could this be? I Wonder as I look down at the stairs in the darkness.
Suddenly, Kugi turns around and looks behind us.
Is something wrong? I ask him, not knowing if something happened.
I thought I may have heard something. Kugi responded to my question.
It's probably just your imagination, Mikey said. Come on, let's go already; we cannot waste our time. Especially not after what we just found.
Mikey went first, then me and Kugi, still skeptical.
Mikey is the first to die in horror movies. Isn't that right? I ask Kugi.
Yeah, always so obnoxious and stubborn. Kugi says, teasing him.
Mikey turns to us and speaks. Won't you guys just shut up already! I'm trying to film.
Just as I was about to speak, something shoves us from behind.

When I finally managed to turn around, all I could see was a familiar face. Everything blurs as I'm about to strike the ground. For a time, everything is dark, and when I finally wake up, I'm falling from the sky.

A new world appeared, and as I fell, I could see Kugi and Mikey falling down with me.
Everything seemed strange, and I couldn't believe it until it finally hit me.
A notification with the words “SYSTEM: STARTING…” displayed directly in front of me.
The oxygen was thin, and I was falling at an incredible pace. So far, I felt like I was the only one awake, but it didn't last long because I was beginning to faint again. I was unable to think clearly, but I was certain. I was Isekai'd
