Chapter 13:

"The Reunion and The Titan Golem"

The Fifth Council

The air was heavy with tension as the three groups arrived, almost simultaneously, in front of a massive set of ancient, doors.

With a deep, rumbling groan, the doors swung open, revealing a vast chamber cloaked in dim orange light. The air was dry. In the center of the chamber lay an enormous mound of rubble, broken weapons, and rusted armor scattered like the remains of some ancient war.

Helwin narrowed his eyes, then pointed to the far side of the chamber.

“Bro! Those two are right there!” he said, quickly recognizing the familiar silhouettes through the hazy gloom.

Audaxor cupped his hands to his mouth. “Hey guys!”

On the opposite end, Bezkon and Jovino turned toward the sound.

“Looks like they’re here as well,” Bezkon said, a grin.

Jovino shouted back, “Do you guys know where Shin’ō is!?”

A sudden, voice interrupted from above, echoing from one of the fallen columns.

“I’m back, bitches!”

Shin’ō stood proudly atop the rubble, arms crossed, a small smirk on his face. The group, momentarily stunned, relief as they reunited at the center of the room.

The celebration didn’t last long.

Audaxor’s eyes scanned the large mound of debris they had walked over moments ago. “Guys… I think this is the boss room. And that pile of rubble that we all ran through… might’ve been the boss.”

Bezkon frowned, eyes narrowing. “No, that can’t be. If it was, why didn’t it attack us earlier?”

As if in response, a low grinding sound rumbled beneath their feet. The entire pile of rubble began to shudder, and chunks of metal and stone reassembled with terrifying precision.

A colossal being emerged—its body an amalgamation of rusted blades, shattered shields, and crumbling rock. A pair of glowing orange eyes opened on its cracked face.

Titan Golem.

It streched and slammed its massive arm into the floor. The ground cracked as a seismic shockwave spread, and jagged stone pillars erupted around the group.

“Ah, shit,” Helwin muttered, already forming frost at his fingertips. “Now we gotta deal with this thing.”

Jovino reacted first. He spun mid-air and kicked one of the rising stone pillars, sending it flying toward the golem like a missile. It struck—but only crumbled on impact.

Undeterred, he quickly dismantled another stone formation, fashioning spikes from it and hurling them one by one. They hit—but were absorbed.

“The hell?!” Jovino yelled. “It ate the rocks!”

The golem’s chest began to glow faintly, energy pooling in its massive arm. In a single movement, it raised its fist—and the ground beneath the boys surged upward, tossing them into the air.

Audaxor’s eyes locked on the golem’s chest. In that moment of movement… he saw it. A flicker of light behind layers of shifting stone and metal.

The core.

“I saw it!” he shouted. “Its weakness is in its chest! Behind those metal plates!”

“I’ll freeze its legs!” Helwin shouted, slamming his palm to the ground. Ice snaked out instantly, engulfing the golem’s legs in thick frost, halting its advance.

“Go, attack now!”

Audaxor, charging a massive fireball. It soared through the air and collided with the golem—but the monster absorbed the flames and redirected them to the ground, turning the surrounding floor into a blaze.

Helwin reacted instantly, freezing the fire and surrounding ice. The golem tried to absorb the frost as well, but Bezkon intervened, launching a bolt of lightning into its exposed arm. The creature flinched, its body crackling violently.

The golem retaliated. Its arm swung like a guillotine, a burst of electricity trailing behind it. Helwin braced, but before the blast could land—

Boom!

A thick wall of stone shot up in front of him.

“Got you, bro!” Jovino called out, panting.

“Jovino!” Shin’ō shouted from behind. “Make me a platform—I’ll finish this!”

“Coming up!”

A platform of stone shot up like a springboard beneath Shin’ō. As he soared through the air, Bezkon kept the golem distracted with spear after spear of crackling electricity.

The golem raised its arm to swat Shin’ō from the air—but Audaxor fired another blast of flame, scorching the golem’s side and halting its movement.

In that instant, Shin’ō conjured a ball of destructive energy, crackling in his palm like a condensed storm.

“Destruction Magic, Type 1: MEGA BOOM!”

He hurled the sphere at the titan’s chest. A flash of crimson engulfed the room—and then a deafening explosion followed. Shards of stone and steel flew in every direction. The golem staggered, its armor torn from its chest, revealing the glowing core.

“Now!” Shin’ō shouted.

Bezkon and Audaxor stepped forward, fire and lightning surging around them.

Their hands joined, energy spiraling upward from their bodies into a single, unified force.

“Flaming Spear: BLAZED BOLT!”

The combined attack launched toward the exposed core like a comet streaking through the sky...
