Chapter 38:
Disciple to The Demon King
It is a very valuable experience. I have led many in the past, but never have I raised anyone. This is not bad, this feeling as the student fully demonstrates their results and growth.
Host announces, “Terran’s Fist caught Reval!”
The crowd express their feelings of watching this match.
“Reval fell now, he’s face down on the floor!”
“P-Powerful! Terran, so strong!”
“What’s going on? A genius like Reval can’t be left helpless on his hands and knees, right! ?”
Until now, with the crowd’s narrow-minded notion of ‘knowing his nature’ when it came to the child, their subsequent surprised reaction had me burst into laughter.
Heero said, “I can’t believe it, that Terran, where did you learn that? When did you learn that?”
Akari said, “With Heero, and much less me, it’s different from Sadie. How the heck did he?”
Enuma ranted as well laughed at their reactions. "Yes, your son, Heero. Even so, this is also something. You and I have faced each other on many occasions, but now we do not fight each other, we simply do the same thing. I am watching over the same man. You should know your own son better than anyone else. You know nothing, and now I know your son better!"
Reval said, “Terran, what the hell are you?”
As I slowly took small steps to create some distance, Reval doesn’t engage, he instead expresses his feelings. Maybe, with the silence that has currently fallen over the arena, it seems the people are having similar thoughts.
Reval distraught, questioned me, “As a magic swordsman, you abandoned your sword. Yet you used this kind of technique. Did you learn it from Sir Heero and Lady Akari?”
How did I gain this power and fighting style? First of all, perhaps it’s my father, would be the reason they’ll consider first.
I lean forward and point to the guest seats and my shocked parents, saying. “Aren’t they just as surprised? Their mouths are wide open next to his Majesty!”
Hearing that, Reval's expression seemed as if he swallowed a nasty bug.
Reval asks, “It’s not just martial art. Its movement is completely different from the Imperial style. Also, the mold is unique, yet it flows beautifully without faltering. How did you do that?”
I’m sure everyone’s curious about how. Father also leans out and waits for my answer. However, I can’t mention anything about Enuma.
So, all I can say is, “In order to improve my basic skills, I practiced footwork, and earnestly spar. Repeat mock battles and I read!”
It’s not a lie. The process was mostly repetition. Well, I had relentless training for two months with the opponent who fought the Dragon King and knocked him down. Even if it was virtual with my Domain.
Reval appears unconvinced by it, “You read. Don’t mess around! With just that alone was all it took! I’ve been single-mindedly swinging my sword. While studying abroad, I gained experience in swordsmanship with warriors and powerhouses from other countries. In addition, even a fire dragon was brought down with this sword! All to become the strongest swordsman!”
That’s why Reval shouted at my words, “I’m at the mercy of martial arts of which I don’t even know when, where, or how you learned it. Just mock battles? And reading? Don’t be silly! I’m listening to you seriously!”
But to be honest, that’s all. I kept on going it. I told the swordsman, “It’s true, Reval. I’m like you. I possess good conviction. I didn’t put in more effort or earned more achievements than you. It’s really all I did to train.”
That’s when the public expectations of me were gradually getting heavier.
I felt compelled to tell him of my breakthrough, “Ever since I entered the Academy, I was irritated by a wall that I couldn’t overcome. As my father and mother’s child, I wasn’t enough. That was the opinion of those around me, they knew of my power and were convinced, because I couldn’t break through that wall.”
Unlike the princess, there was nothing lesser I could compare myself, so I gained an inferiority complex. I tried desperately to be like my father, but I didn’t grow up or awaken like I and everyone expected.
I continued to say, “I don’t have the collective strength of the princess, or magical talent like Poh. I don’t have special sword skills that have been learned through bloody efforts like you. I was just wielding a magic sword that imitated my father.”
Reval denied my rant, “Terran… No! That’s not true.”
When I glanced at the guest seat, my father and mother looked surprised and shocked. I said, “You know that, too. I’m the only one who was different. I’m the only one who wasn’t good enough. I’m the only one who’s a failure.”
That’s how I began to think of myself, and I gradually lost confidence in myself, and I was getting depressed. I admitted “One day, a meddling guy told me clearly. I don’t have the same talent as my father. Even if I imitate my father, I will spend my whole life and never catch up with him.”
The audience got abuzz with the surprise same as Reval. As he said “What?”
I explained, “It’s not like I’m lacking, still immature, or might awaken someday. He clearly identified that I will never meet my father's level. Instead, he said this. If I can’t catch up with my father by imitating him. I should think about making the most of my own individuality.”
Yes, I need to wear something that suits me, not something that suits my father. Those words were truly eye catching, and I was able to change from there.
Reval shouted furiously at my words. “Don’t you mess with me, Terran! Do you realize what you’re saying!? The Magic Sword of Hero, Heero, who saved the world and defeated the Demon King…. Your mother's blessings and unique power and you choose to go your own way without inheriting all that power? What will we do if we don’t inherit the power of our great forefathers and pass it on to future generations!”
Unexpectedly, I could voice my thoughts so naturally. “What’s going on. You’re always so cool, now you’re surprisingly heated?”
Reval flashed with intensity, “Don’t dodge this! As a trusted friend. You! you’re the one. We’ve been together for a long time. Leading us, that’s why you, nevertheless. Such a thing, it can’t be!”
The Seven Great Heroes. The powers that saved the world, saved mankind. It’s not just Reval, but the princess and the Poh as well. For us who are their blood relatives to not inherit that, the fact is that idea is unforgivable.
The usually cool Reval is hot headed. “I’ll make you understand, Terran! We’re not fighting alone! Supported by many, inheriting their thoughts, carrying them on their backs, standing here! To you who tries to despise everything for your own selfish reasons. I’ll do my best to make you understand!”
In that sense, it might not be a selfish reason for me alone. However, I am not doing it for myself, but to reward the one who is still watching over me. “Even if I’m selfish, my stance in this match won’t change. I’ll prove myself and show my power to those who didn’t believe I could win! To you, to my father, to my mother, to Sadie, to the people of this country!”
Reval shouted, “Ah. I’ll show you! To you who were cozy in the warm environment of Imperial City, this is my resolve!!”
I shouted back, “So as I tend to blabber and whine with my mouth, I’ll try communicating to your body!”
Just a word, which affirmed and gave me more confidence. At the same time my heart became heated at the words Enuma told me, "Of course. Now, prove yourself."
I confirmed, "Osu!"
