I Apologize for My Carelessness

I’m S, currently attending the University of P. They say entering college is the most exciting part of someone’s life: partying, messing around, hanging out, and relationships. That is true... However, the exact opposite happened in my life. After spending my time in high school getting better marks and studying for the Entrance Exam, I barely got time for socializing with others.

The breeze hallway of S University welcomes me, as I walks to the lecture room

A sound of sighs murmurs in my mouth.

"Why does this class have to be this far? I could have saved some time walking from room to room instead."

I entered the lecture room within a few minutes till the start of the lecture. Few minutes pass by, and the professor’s voice is making me fall asleep.

"This class is so boring... I really wish today’s lecture was gonna be more exciting."

I almost fell asleep during his lecture, that lesson bored me out.

"Finally, that class is over. It's like noon already. Maybe I should get a meal... and get some fresh air."

After the lecture I went to the cafeteria to get my lunch. As I sat down, a good looking stranger stood in front of me.

"Hey, are you eating by yourself?" She asked.

"Ugh yeah yeah, I’m eating all by myself..." I replied to her as my hands fidget.

"Do you mind if I eat with you?" She asked with a smile.

I replied with no hesitation "Uh, sure."

As we are eating our meals, we never spoke to each other. Eating my lunch in silence, I never managed to start a conversation with her.

I walk myself on the way home, filled with thoughts. Moments later I bumped into someone familiar, and got her camera broken because of my carelessness.

"Uh uh, I’m sorry! I didn’t see you!" I said to her nervously.

She laughed. “Haha, you idiot. Watch where you're going next time.”

“I’m really sorry! I didn’t mean to destroy your camera...” I apologized again.

“Here, borrow my phone if you need to take photos,” I offered.

She smiled. “Apology accepted. Can you take a photo?”

“Uhh... what am I gonna take photos of?” I asked hesitantly.

“Of course, me! Hahaha!” she responded cheerfully.

“Three, two, one...” she counted down, ready to be photographed.

Shutters

She walks toward me to check the photo.

"Is this your first time taking pictures?" She asked me.

"No... I’m sorry for breaking your camera again. I will replace it. I’m sorry!" I said it while I was sweating from being nervous.

"You don’t need to do that. But in exchange, you join the Photography club as compensation."

– “I’m sure you aren’t in any club yet” She replies as she pat my back.

"Photography Club?" I wondered.

I’m left speechless on what happened just now, expecting her to get mad at me.

In her joyful expression "Oh, I have to go home. See you tomorrow!"

I couldn’t even reply back. I walked my way home in silence and lay down on my bed..

What a day. I sighed. I ended up bumping into her by accident and breaking her camera. But why is she not mad? She says I don’t need to replace her camera as long as I join the club. But why...? Why does she want me to join the club instead?
