In a chamber carved of ancient stone, silence reigned—cold, thick, and unsettling. The flicker of torches cast eerie shadows on the walls, revealing a throne at the center.
Upon that throne sat a blind man, eyes shrouded beneath a band of fine white silk. Beside him stood another man, his own eye covered by his fingers.
The blind man’s voice was clam and low, echoing through the still chamber like distant thunder.
“What do you see, Overseer?”
The kneeling man inhaled, his body tense as his power surged outward.
“My king... I see inside the Obelisks. There are monsters... traps... unspeakable chaos. But... at its core—I see a weapon.”
A faint smile crept across the blind man's face.
“And what do you see in the world outside my Empire?”
The Overseer’s voice lowered as he focused harder, veins glowing faintly on his head.
“To the south, beyond the sea... I see many holding power and wealth. But five of them... Five are different. They rival even you and me, my King.”
But the blind man was not shaken. Instead, he leaned towards him slightly, as if amused.
“Do not worry, brother. We have the Empire’s strongest warriors here... beside us.”
The camera of reality slowly panned out—across the table in front of the two rulers, six figures sat in silence. Their eyes glinted in various colours, like predators in the dark. They did not speak. Only listened wating for the king's commands.
Far away from that dreadful chamber, the scent of pine and damp earth filled the air.
Helwin, Shin’ō, and Bezkon stepped carefully through the thick forest, their eyes focused on the trail of large, sunken footprints leading deeper into the woods.
Helwin grumbled under his breath, kicking aside a fallen branch. “How much longer will these footprints go on, dawg...”
Shin’ō didn’t take his eyes off the trail. “It must be somewhere close.”
Bezkon sighed and picked up his pace. “I’m walking ahead. I can't go any longer at this slow pace.”
Elsewhere, surrounded by scrolls, shattered beakers, and the buzz of fluorescent lights, Audaxor leaned over a microscope in his makeshift lab.
He examined a blood sample, noting its structure. "This zombie tanker’s DNA... it’s strikingly similar to the strain left behind by Dr. V..."
He adjusted a lens and flipped through Shin’ō’s photographs from inside the obelisk. "These symbols… if I had more time, I could probably decipher all of this. But what was this guy trying to create?"
Meanwhile, back in the quiet courtyard of Bezkon’s home, Jovino crouched, breathing hard as he dodged a surprise attack from the old monk.
The old man staying calm, his bare feet gliding across the cracked tile with inhuman grace. “Listen here, boy! Like you, I also have an ability. I call it... Jutsu.”
Jovino blinked, catching his breath. “And what does that ability... actually do?”
The old man laughed and scratched the back of his head. “I don’t know. I still haven’t fully used it!”
Back in the forest, the trio pressed on.
Shin’ō glanced at his hand, flexing his fingers. “Guys... do you think we could give our powers to others? Temporarily, like I did with you?”
“It’s possible. Everyone has powers now, though. Some might react differently.” Helwin added.
Bezkon grinned and turned towards Shin’ō.“What if I—”
Shin’ō suddenly pointed forward. “Hey, look—I see something!”
Helwin’s eyes narrowed as the silhouette of a building emerged beyond the trees. “That’s his base.”
In the lab, Audaxor sat frozen as an idea began to form. "Wait... what if Dr. V willingly gave his powers to that man? Then... it evolved into a different strain."
He sat up straighter, realization hitting him like lightning. "That’s exactly what Shin’ō did for us. He gave us his powers. Which means... anyone can give powers to others! This whole system—it’s transferrable."
Back at the training ground, the old man now sat cross-legged on a stone, voice calm. “Now, let me teach you the basics of Jutsu. Calm your mind. Meditate. Focus on your breathing... and enhance your inner power.”
Jovino sat in front of him, blinking in confusion. "Why is he even teaching me this...? Like what? Is he gonna give me his powers or something?" Thinking to himself.
Deep beneath the forest, in the dark corridors of steel and shadow, Dr. V’s lab glowed red as sirens blared softly.
His assistant burst in, urgency in his tone. “Sir! The alarms detected three humans entering within a 100-meter radius of our lab!”
Dr. V grinned, flipping a scalpel between his fingers. “Let those kids come... Because it’s time to play~.”
