Chapter 41:

Run Away

Disciple to The Demon King

My father was so bewildered he couldn’t express his words well, but he tells me with a sad expression.  “That technique it once destroyed Sadie’s hometown. It was used to kill Sadiz’s parents.”

Astonished, I blurted out, “Eh!?”

Heero continue to explain, “As we were rushing to the scene, a huge spiral rising into the heavens…. It’s that was the technique that the Demon King Enuma showed.”

It wasn’t just my father. To my mother, I’m far from disappointing. I’m nearly pathetic. I used that technique, just so I can show off my new strength to her. The very girl I was trying to impress.

Saying that, my father grabbed my wrist tightly and tried to take me away with him. “Anyway, come. Tell me all about how you got this stuff. what were you doing without your father or mother’s knowledge?”

Wait a minute, I was determined to get an answer, “Father! How was I? I got stronger. I’m much, I got much-”

Heero replied, “What?”

It’s true that technique wasn’t a good one for my father. I didn’t know that it would affect Sadie. But I did my best. A lot of sweat and endured severe pain, and I rose to the challenge today.

Heero shouted, “Idiot!”

I was only left shocked, “Heh!?”

Heero blurted out, “So what if you got stronger. If you want to be strong, is anything acceptable?”

Oh, I see. So that was it, I replied, “What? No, what?”

Heero was trying to take me and leave, Ling called out “Hey, what’s going on? Is it true that the technique he just used was the same as Demon King Enuma's?”

Heero replied, “Idiot, why would the son of a hero use the Demon King’s skill!”

Ling said, “If that’s the case, it’s a shame! You have no pride as a son of a hero!”

Fifteen years I’ve been in this country. I didn’t realize such a thing until today.

A person in the crowd said, “Hey, isn’t that funny in the first place? That failure of a son was so strong”

Another person said, “That’s right. No matter how much, I thought it was funny when he was overpowering that Reval!"

The first person said, “Oh, maybe he got his hands on some vile power! What kind of a guy is the son of a hero.”

I was screaming before I knew it. “So, what. Don’t mess with me!!”

Father yanks on my wrist and tries to take me in. “Oh, Terran! Hey, just come quietly now!”

However, I could not agree to that. As if I would be taken in like this, so I shook off my father’s hand.  I could not stand his attitude anymore, “Tell you everything? What? Like there’s anything left to say now. When you finally looked at me, you’re looking with such eyes. If my father and mother actually looked at me. What I struggled with and agonized over. If the world hadn’t imposed a convenient shameful title on me, things wouldn’t have been like this!”

Heero was taken aback and gasped, “Terran…”

I continued to vent at my father, “So, what’s wrong with me right now? I didn’t cheat, I didn’t play dirty tricks or anything! I trained and studied; I fought with my own strength! Only to have you have to look at me like that! You’ve been ignoring the fact that I’ve hit the wall, that I’m a second generation who is a lost cause, or not good enough. And now that I’ve finally come this far. Why!”

I couldn’t calm down, and I put into words everything I had emotionally bottled up. “The war ended before I was born. Don’t drag my generation along, push us forward! Now I understand. This country, including my father. No one cared about me.”

Heero replied, “Terran! What are you saying?”

I kept talking venting more, “What you were interested in is the convenient ideal son of a hero. As for me, Terran Kamina, I didn’t matter.”

Heero could only gasp, “Heh!?”

Yes, the wish I’ve had made everyone recognize me as Terran Kamina instead of Son of the Hero. That was impossible from the beginning, and I only found out today. Because the world is not interested in Terran Kamina.

My father, who changed his expression, grabs both my shoulders and shouts. “N-No! You’re wrong, Terran! Calm down! Your dad and mom don’t think that at all!”

But the words couldn’t reach my heart anymore.

Heero continued, “Your father, your mother, and Sadiz love you from the bottom of our hearts! Believe me! We’re a family! That’s why I’m worried about you! I’m not doing this because you’re not good enough! If you’re involved with relatives of Enuma or the remnants of the Demon Army.”

I know. My father is right.

I replied, “I already, okay. Anyhow, I can’t believe you said that.”

Heero asked, “What?”

My father is a hero. The hero who protected the world cannot overlook me using the technique of the demon that was the nemesis of mankind.

All the recent things said about me flooded into my head.

Words of my father – So what if you got stronger. If you want to be strong, is anything acceptable?

Words of the world ― As expected, he’s the son of a hero!

Words of Enuma, who lit my heart on fire and supported me for all this time – Show it to everyone! Go, Terran!!

However, because Enuma is the Demon King, that power will not be recognized no matter what. I said, “If I knew it would be this hard. I would not want to be born as a hero’s child.”

At that time, what my father looked like, I couldn’t see it anymore.

I shook off my father's grip of me and said, “Let go”

After I just shook off his clinging hand, I landed a blow to my defenseless father’s face. Heero was gasping and absorbed the blow full on, “Terran… Gu!?”

It was either what I said, or that he was surprised at being attacked, that my fist connected with my father’s face, which would usually not happen. Rather than being refreshed, I just felt worse.

My mother, who was taking care of Sadie, cried out to us. “Heero!? Terran! Terran wait. Please, calm down!”

Again, I heard terrible words about me from the crowd, Reval spoke up, “Ah, Terran! What Sir Heero said. Anyway, now-”

I interrupted him, “Shut it, Reval. You’re not involved, just leave it.”

Reval gasped, “Heh!?”

Nothing mattered anymore. Enuma spoke up, "Calm yourself, boy. Nothing terrible happened yet, you may still return. Besides, I am at fault in this."

I asked, "Enuma, what are you talking about? Return? Where?"

Enuma clarified, "What was today for? Do you truly intend to throw everything away here, you cannot get it all back if you do."

I was still confused, “What”

Enuma said, "Reveal everything about me to the world. They may not believe it at first, but I will tell you all that I know, what only Heero would know. Reveal that, perhaps they may yet believe in the existence of ghosts."

I replied to the Demon King, "Really, you would? it’s fine, ha ha.  At such a time, you were the only one who gave a little warmth to my heart. It’s okay, I don’t need to go back.”

Feeling a little guilty, Enuma tries to sway me, but I already had enough. Thank you, Enuma. And I’m sorry for ruining it.

Uriko had arrived and said, “Hey! I can’t stand it anymore! What the hell is going on? Terran, what are you doing?”

Poh trying to follow her, said “Hold on, princess! Ah, enough!”

From the princess’ point of view, it’s natural for her to be confused. She was someone that knew my abilities the best, “Terran, what are you doing? And why did you hit Lord Heero? What is the technique of the Demon King? Calm down, explain it from the beginning and convince us!”

Poh, I guess he’s genuinely worried. “That’s right, Terran. As it is, even if it’s self-abandonment, will anything be gained? Everyone’s anger will be directed at Terran.”

The words that came out of my mouth, “Enough! I don’t care."

Reckless, such an irresponsible way to speak. Uriko was worried, trying to get me to relax. "Don’t care. Don’t be silly, Terran! It does matter.”

That’s why I brushed aside the princess’s hand as she reached out. Saying, “Don’t touch me!”

Yes, it doesn’t matter. Yet it left Uriko stunned, “Eh, ah”

The crowd witness it and erupted in anger, “He brushed the princess off!?! Have you fallen that far!”

His Majesty also tries to calm everyone down, but his voice is drowned out. “Eh, be quiet! Everyone calm down!”

My father rushes to take me away to protect me from unstoppable jeers and things being thrown. Heero said. “Hey, Terran. Let’s talk later, come with your father now and-”

I’ve already refused that hand. “Dad enough it’s okay.”

He was stunned, “Terran”

I told him off. “Father, I’m just, just once… my dad… everyone. Not as a son of a hero. I just wanted you to praise me. That’s all.”

Heero tried to reply. “Heh!? Terran, wait, why such a thing. Don’t just say that’s all. Your dad is-”

I continued, “Sorry I couldn’t be the son of a perfect ideal hero. I’m sorry.”

From that point on, I lost myself. Akari called out, “Terran!?”

I said, “Mother, sorry. Sadie, I’m sorry. I’m just annoying.”

However, because I was surrounded by everyone, I summoned the Great Magic Spiral in my right hand, and I dug underground.

My father called out. “Wait, Terran!? Hey, wait, Terran! Where are you going?”

My mother screamed, "Terrrrrrrrrrran!!!!"

Using all the magic I had left, shocking my parents before me, I ran away.

I jumped out of the ground when I ran out of magic power. Run away, run away, just run away.

After passing through the Imperial City gate, I ran out of the Imperial City alone for the first time. Because of what was overflowing from my eyes, I couldn’t see in front of me. Even if I try to shake it off, it will overflow.

Damn it, Memories flooded my mind as I

– Me, in the future… Become a hero like my father!

– That’s it! Oh. If it’s Terran, you can be a Great Hero!

Damn it……

– Mother… you’re late today too.

– Terran… Yes, today was my day off too! It’s okay to be mad! Today I’m going to make anything you like, for Terran!

Damn it!

– Sadie… Are you leaving?

– No, I’m not going anywhere, am I? I’ll always be with Lil’ Terran.

No one was there anymore, I ran all the way to the meadows where no one was around, and finally I let out a massive scream. “Uh, aaaaaaaaaaah!!!!“

I was bursting full of emotions. I couldn’t even know how many years I had been in such a state.
