The Evolution is Near

The chapter starts off with Netsuka standing with the entity, thinking, “Mizokushi!? Could he actually be capable of doing such?”

The entity snaps her out of it by saying,
“Before I leave you to dictate your story, I’d like to add something. When the day comes for Sumato to perish, you will be given some items and instructions on how to save him. I know you'll do your best.”

The entity smiles as it disappears, and the rain starts to fall again. Netsuka, wasting no more time, begins running toward the higher-ups’ office, her thoughts racing.

“Mizokushi? How can I trust it anyway? I can’t be a hundred percent sure it isn’t pulling my leg… but…”

As Netsuka thinks to herself, she bumps into Amelia.

“Sorry, I wasn't looking.”

Netsuka says, “No, it’s okay.”
Amelia replies, then adds, “Why were you running, though?”

“It’s true, there is a parasitic type of Shivos terrorizing the girl’s dorm. I'm going to tell the higher-ups.”

Amelia looks at the dorm, then back at Netsuka, and says, “Is that so… No need to disturb the higher-ups then. I'll kill it myself.”

Netsuka looks at her, confused, but reluctantly accepts. Before Amelia goes, she tells Netsuka,
“Help me call my partner.”

Netsuka asks, “Who might that be?”

Amelia, slightly annoyed, says, “Quiera, obviously.”

Amelia then heads toward the dorm as Netsuka changes her plan to look for Quiera.

Meanwhile, the three infected girls try to pounce on Sumato, but he is fast enough to dodge.

Sumato prepares to fight but realizes that even if they want to attack him, they are still defenseless. One of the girls sends a water bullet his way, but without even glancing, Sumato dodges it.

He sighs and says,
“Guess I have to drop back and play defensive until Kazumi kills that thing. Good thing I'm faster.”

The scene switches to Kazumi, fighting off countless mini Shivoses as the main one watches. Reaching his limit, Kazumi summons two other clones to fend off the mini Shivoses while he dashes toward the main one.

Caught off guard, the main Shivos escapes into the walls, but Kazumi had planned for that. Inside the wall, the tiny Kazumi used as a tracker grows and attacks the Shivos creature, jolting it out of the wall.

Kazumi tells it,
“Never expected that, right? Now let's see how you'll protect your core from the real Kazumi.”

In that moment, the Shivos creature pulls off a menacing ear-to-ear grin and utters its first terrifying words:

“The evolution is near.”
