Chapter 1:
FORGOTTEN HEROES
On the brink of world destruction, as darkness swallowed up humanity’s last hope, seven heroes were summoned from another world. The gods themselves chose them, bestowing divine power to confront the power-hungry Demon King. A great war ensued. The ground shook, the sky split, and blood was shed to save the world. But just as victory was within reach, the seven heroes vanished—vanished without a trace. No graves, no ruins, not even a single person could remember their faces, their names, or their origins.
A speeding carriage raced through a dense forest filled with monsters. Inside, a young man sat silently, cloaked in a long robe that concealed his entire body.
> “My name is Hans. I was one of the seven heroes who once vanished. And now... I am the only one still alive from those who fought in the final battle. No one remembers us, for the Demon King’s curse erased our existence from the world’s memory. In that battle, I also lost my left hand.”
The carriage rushed forward, driven by an old coachman. Suddenly, a massive monster rammed into the side of the carriage, shaking it violently.
> “Sir, are you alright?” the coachman asked in a panic.
> “I’m fine. That monster... it’s a Class A beast. Its power is equal to twenty trained knights,” Hans replied calmly.
Swiftly, Hans drew his sword. A bluish glow enveloped the blade—a rare aura possessed only by those who had reached the level of Sword Master.
> “Sir, please move away from me. I will handle the monster.”
> “Sir… we should run. That thing is extremely dangerous!” the coachman shouted in fear.
Sensing their presence, the monster charged at incredible speed. Hans stood tall on top of the carriage, raising his sword high.
> “Divine Judgement!”
In an instant, the monster was cleaved in two, crashing to the ground with a thunderous sound. The coachman froze, his body trembling.
> “W-Who are you, really, sir?”
Hans lowered his sword and answered in a quiet but steady voice,
> “I... am merely a wanderer, searching for a purpose in life.”
