Chapter 1:
Reincarnated as the Gun Hero in Another World Volume 1
“To live doing what you love... that’s the only job that matters.”
A baby cried.
Through tiny, blinking eyes, Sousha saw sunlight through wooden beams. The soft creak of a rocking chair. He felt warmth. He heard soft voices—though there was a particularly loud one.
He had been reborn. So this is what it's like... Cool!
This place… a farm? Or is it the classic cottage? And that smell—soil? I’ve really been reincarnated... Guns! Give 'em to me!!!
A towering man with messy red hair leaned over him, laughing joyfully. Beside him, a beautiful woman with dark eyes and a soft, innocent smile wiped her tears.
A small girl peeked out from behind them, eyes twinkling with curiosity.
The woman cradled the newborn gently in her arms, her voice trembling with joy.
“He’s perfect...” she whispered. “So strong already, and observant too...”
The baby's little brows were furrowed. Guns! Where are they?!!
She smiled down at him and said softly, “Your name... will be Meisatsu.”
“Meisatsu Kanezuka...” The father grinned and nodded. “A strong name. He’ll grow up to shake the world! I just know it!!!”
Dust showered from the ceiling as the room shook at his utterance.
Crap! I forgot to ask for girls too! Meisatsu's face scrunched up at his father's voice. Jeez! Could you keep it down a little?! Also, where are the guns...?!
The little girl pouted, a fire lighting in her heart. “He’s so tiny! I’ll protect him!!!”
Those where the words that set in motion a whole new side to the newborn's life. And from that moment on, the soul of Tōjō Sousha was truly reborn.
He was now Meisatsu Kanezuka—a farm boy, with a not-so-ordinary destiny...

Time passed by like a lazy river.
Meisatsu grew up playing tag in the fields, while thinking about guns. Getting ambushed by flying vegetables— while guns clouded his mind—from his big sister’s Cooking Magic. He learned to walk, then run, then dodge, all while thinking about...
Guns. He got to a point in his life where he mostly daydreamed about firearms, but he still managed, somehow...
At fifteen, he had become a fine young man. Dark-haired, lean, and surprisingly athletic for a farm boy. He always wore a sly, slightly crooked grin, like he knew more than he let on. And he did. He knew... Guns...
The Kanezuka Family...
Ragan Kanezuka, his father, was a tall and muscular Blacksmith with wild red hair and a voice that shook the forge with each strike of his hammer against glowing steel.
His energy was contagious, his laugh even more so. He carried out the duties as the head of the house with an enthusiasm that was always carried along in his—constant—loud booming voice.
By contrast, Leina Kanezuka was a curvaceous and kind-eyed Chef known across the town for her “divine” cooking. Her smile could end wars. Her stew could start them. She was always soft spoken, reserved for the most part, but behind her delicate exterior resided a fierce, protective mother.
His older sister, now eighteen, was a talented Mage with flowing brown hair and a body that made the local boys lose sleep—literally. She was a true beauty, one who held the utmost care for her little brother.
None dared approach her, not because of the cliché over bearing parents, but rather her fearsome—absolutely terrifying—spells. When with her brother, she is no more than the lovable, Ayame Kanezuka...
One afternoon, while tending the fields, Ayame glanced at him. “So,” she said, “your birthday’s coming soon. Got any idea what you'd want your Role to be? Got a Class in mind?! ”
Meisatsu scratched his head and thought, If it has something to do with guns, I’m good!!!
Out loud, he said, “I don’t really care. As long as it’s something I can do with passion...”
Ayame squinted at him, holding back a laugh. I can see right through him... It's adorable when he tries to be mysterious. But just what are you hiding...?
Every child in the kingdom underwent an appraisal on their fifteenth birthday. The Priest of the local temple would use a divine crystal to reveal their individual Roles, then inform of their corresponding Class.
Three major classes existed: The Commoner Class, Royal Class, and lastly, the Hero Class...
Out of the three, the most popular was by far the Commoner class, with roles like Tailor, Craftsman, Farmer, Blacksmith, Merchant, Mage, and so on.
The Royal Class, however, was on a whole different scale of rarity, with only a handful of select individuals ever being born, or achieving them later in life.
They opened doors to a whole new levels of power. To name a few: High-Mage, High-Craftsman, High-Priest, Royal Advisor, and Royal Treasurer all fell under the the Class.
Even the Role of King is considered to be under the Royal Class. But a few millennia ago, the Role began passing down a certain bloodline—it became hereditary. A change that only a few have sought to find the reason as to why...
Then, among all of these, existed the Hero Class. Only one born every thousand years. Heroes were legends. Of the Heroes of the past were the Sword Hero, Mage Hero, Bow Hero, Club Hero, and Spear Hero .
They all shared a destiny—defeating the Demon King, who also reincarnated once every millennium.
But never—not once in all of history—had there been a hero of…

In a chapel glowing with sacred light, townsfolk gathered in hushed excitement as they had all come to see the young man's appraisal. A truly joyous occasion.
Meisatsu stood before the altar, flanked by his proud parents and Ayame—now radiating intense focus like she was watching the most important scene in the world.
The old priest placed his hand over Meisatsu’s, whispering ancient words. The crystal ball in his other hand, pulsed once.
Then again—blinding light swallowing the space.
The priest gasped as he stumbled back, clearly disoriented as he shouted, “G-Gun Hero...!”
The room went silent, then followed a deafening—
“Ehhhhh?!”
“W-what’s a gun?!”
“Is it some sorta snack?!”
A murmur of confusion swept through the room. Meisatsu wondered who had made the last guess...
Then a wicked, knowing grin slowly curled across his lips.
So this is how it begins... About time!!!
