Chapter 0:

Blue, Green, Purple

WHEEL - Blue, Green, Purple

WHEEL

Blue, Green, Purple

“The stone. The stone of Eternal Essence. The stone that, once obtained, could give the owner powers that are almost unimaginable. However, that stone is merely a myth. A legend of the old times. Merely a tale, a folk tale told throughout the seas and the skies. The only person to have ever been rumoured to have even gotten close to obtaining it died trying to obtain it all his life. He died with the best weapons, the best armour in the world. There is no location. There is no evidence that it exists. There is no reason to go after it, except hope. And faith. And for someone crazy enough to go after it, they will need to have Eternal Faith – as though for someone as crazy as to try to obtain it, for them it will be a challenge. A challenge so grave it would make even the bravest and mightiest of men to shake in their boots. Because, for a person to obtain it, he or she must go through the ten Titans – some of the strongest living beings on Earth. And some of them..reside outside it.

Blue, Green, Purple – those are the three main colors that the Eternal Stone of Essence is rumoured to have. According to legends, it doesn’t even have a name – that’s how little we truly know about it. There have been hundreds of attempts to obtain the stone and be crowned King of the World – but the truth is, almost all of the people who ever dared to go after the legend as failed to do so, except one, and even he, failed to do so in the end.

The Ten Titans, some of the most powerful living beings in the world, or rather, in the universe, are almost confirmed to exist, which is why time and time again the world has hope that the Eternal Stone of Essence resides within one of their lairs, or somewhere they know. The Titans have killed almost half of the Global Population before the World Government signed a undisclosed contract with them. We know this much – the contract was confirmed to be made about peace between them and Humans, and that they could only kill and eat a specific amount of people. In exchange, the rest of the humans got peace for living in their own World that they took over. Is it fair? Not in a million years. Can we do anything about it? Not in a billion years. We are powerless. We are truly powerless.

Which is why, Makana, I am writing to you this letter. I feel something special in your son. I know he’s just a baby right now, but in a few years’ time, he’ll be ready for the world. And I truly believe that he can obtain the Eternal Stone of Essence. With enough time, training, and resources, he can truly search across the world for the stone. And maybe, just maybe, be the first person ever to find and use the WHEEL. Please, Makana, I need you to give this to Hiacho when he’s older-“

Makana crumpled the letter and threw it into the fireplace and watched it burn. He was livid. How, after all these years of not mentioning it, keeping quiet like they were supposed to, could he speak of it after almost two decades? Who did he think he was? Smoke blew from the opening of the cigar that Makana was smoking.

“How could he talk about the WHEEL, the supposed 7 WHEELS, which are not even confirmed to have existed and to exist, and what after all this time? It doesn’t make sense, it just doesn’t make any sense!”

The smoke shifted at his outburst, causing the cigar to burn a little brighter.

“Does he realize..that if Hiacho were to travel to the seas and the skies and the whole world to try and find the seven WHEELS that, if collected, could destroy the Ten Titans and give him the Stone Of Essense? And what evidence is there to prove that even after getting all of the seven WHEELS, even after defeating the Ten Titans, Hiacho or anyone would get the stone? After all, this is all just a myth, and when there are myths..there can be even more so..”

The cigar burned duller, and the flame started to flicker, before going out completely. The room was now dark and casted shadows of varying lengths.

Makana got up from his chair and went to his room, closing the door quietly. He then walked over the crib, and recited a poem he had written a long time ago.

The WHEEL isn't real, it is just a myth,

Those foolish enough to try and retrieve all seven of them,

Die in pain and suffering,

Nothing more, nothing less”.

Makana was quiet for a moment. Then, just as his anger was about to reach it's peak, he started shaking. Not of fear, not of rage. Of acceptance, and of the sudden realisation that, even though he was trying really hard to fight it, even though his mind, body and brain were yelling at him not to do it, he had to give Hiacho this letter, to show him the path of the WHEEL. After all, one of his great, great, great grandfather almost got all seven of them - before dying to the last Titan. This is also merely a myth, and nothing was ever confirmed by the World Government or any of the higher ups. But he knew the truth that the World Government was trying to hide from the common man, that the 10 Titans truly did exist, that the Stone Of Essence was real, and that the Legendary Markus Reyonka, the man who singlehandedly defeated all nine Titans and almost claimed immortality, almost claimed greatness beyond any human's comprehension - died. Died to the last Titan, the 10th Titan, the strongest Titan of them all.

"This world is truly messed up."

Makana sighed, and placed the letter gently on a table. "Today..", he said, shaking, tears starting to well up in his eyes. "Today, and tomorrow, and all the other days before and after that.", he said, still shaking. "I, Makana, the Head of the Reyonka family, the decadent of the Great Markus, and most importantly, the father of Hiacho Reyonka, will secure..".

Makana's voice trailed off as he thought about what he was about to do, to declare something so absurd that would almost certainly be the most dangerous thing he had ever done in his life. And yet, as ridiculous as it seemed, he smiled. Because, out of everyone who had tried to get the Stone Of Essence and all the Seven WHEEL's, they all had one thing in common: They were overconfident. They were cocky. They thought it was child splay, and upon learning that it was not, they tried to flee. But if there's one thing you never do, it's run away from a challenge. Especially not one that the whole world is trying to accomplish.

"THE SEVEN WHEELS!", yelled Makana.

"Are you sure about that?", said a woman's voice. Makana turned to see MOC, a demon who he had a bloodline contract with, and whom had been with the Reyonka family for decades. That didn't mean he was friendly towards her, though. Matter of fact, he hated her.

"Are you sure you want to do this?", she asked whilst giggling gleefully. "Oh how much  will I enjoy carefully dissecting all of your family members apart."

"After all", she said, whispering into Makana's ear. "We have a contract."

Makana stared at the wall behind MOC for a few moments, before angrily punching the demon, hard, in the face, causing her to fly through the air and crash into the wall behind her.

"I was evaluating the distance.", Makana said.

"Now, now", MOC said, wiping blood dripping from her jaw. "Let's not get violent, now, Makana. After all, it's merely going to be the cause of your stupidity. And I will revel in the consequences."

"Because you make them", said Makana, his voice angry. "And the next time you dare come close to me again I will use it."

MOC visibly shrunk in her casket that held her. "Fine. I won't. But what I will do is relish eating all of your family members and YOU.", she said fervently. "Especially you."

Makana grunted. "Don't get free with me, MOC.", Makana said, lighting a new cigar. "Just do what you are required to do, and nothing more."

"Whatever. So you, Makana, the head of the Reyonka family, the decedent of the Greatest man to have ever lived, who almost achieved it all, but died at the very last obstacle, want to throw everything away just for one silly little dream that has proved time and time again to just merely be a myth?", MOC said. "Fine by me. Just say the words, and I will confirm the Quest. You do realise that, once you confirm this Quest, you cannot back out, right?"

Makana stayed quiet for so long that the wind got restless and started to bother the trees again with it's tantalising speed and strength. And then, just when it seemed like there was something wrong with Makana, he spoke. He said two words, two words that would change the whole world forever.

"Confirm Quest."

MOC smiled. "Very well.", she said, and entered the Quest into her database. "Get ready for you, your son, and everyone else alive in this bloodline..", MOC said defiantly,

"To die."

"Get lost!", yelled Makana furiously. MOC giggled, turned, and with a flourish, disappeared.

The trees swayed. The wind, just as furious as Makana was, swept through the trees and everything in it's path like it was owed money. And Makana..

"Son", he said, tears rolling down his cheeks.

"Become the ONE!!", he yelled as loud as he possibly could.

And the legend had truly begun.
