Chapter 0:

Our Reality

Murida Uchira or the dream of an empire

A saying goes that if you push a man too far, he will start pushing back. In this wicked world, it fortunately seems to remain true.

After the “liberation”, the once great land of Tsuydo was nothing but a ramshackle. The Hendeyus, victors, have decided to mercilessly oppress the Chiriha people, inhabitants of lands since thousands of years.

As horrible as it seemed, it was inevitable; the Hendeyus have always deemed the Chirihas inferior because of their weak comprehension of magick. This was the main reason that led to Tsuydo’s defeat during the “liberation”.

But now, it is history. Since the “liberation”, Hendeyus have banned all Chiriha magick. Most grimoires have been burned, and the mages that haven’t been killed in action were censored, occulted, executed or brainwashed.

Because, indeed, the Hendeyus had the power to corrupt the minds; the Chirihas, denied of arcane understanding, couldn’t defend themselves from spells that targeted their minds.

Or so it was thought. Mind control was utilised so often, from forced labour to rigging the elections through removing evil ideas such as going on strike or scouring for remains of archaic Chiriha artefacts, that the new generation started to develop an immunity against it.

Fortunately, the Hendeyus at the top of the Tsuydo puppet regime were too occupied fighting about vain things such as gold, power and conceit to care about the flaws of their domination.

This horrid new regime will lead to anemoia, and anemoia will lead to atavism. My name is Rutohi Furudoa and this is our reality.
