Chapter 5 - There's No Way

"So, I'm looking forward to your explanation."

"Ehehe~ Nothing~"

5 minutes ago, I just arrived at the cafe and immediately asked for an explanation, but they kept dodging my question and asked me to order a drink first and calm myself down.

It's not like I'm mad or anything...

"Really? Come on, don't leave me out like this?"

"We actually aren't really leaving you out, some things happened."

"Hee?~ Yuuki, don't beat around the bush that fast~" Yuuko punched Yuuki's shoulder while pouting.

What is going on? For real?

"Tell me please."

"It doesn't matter, it's still your own fault after all, hmmph." Yuuko looked away.

"My fault?!"

"Kidding~"

"Come on..."

Yuuko laughed, leaving me with no answer.

"Our reason is not that different from what Yuuko said in the group chat."

"About that, I know... But that's not all, right?"

"Like Yuuko said, you seem to be having a great time with her, so it's disrespectful for us to suddenly budge in."

"Yup! Yup! That's right! Also you look different when you're with her, but I don't know what it is though~" Yuuko winked and stuck out her tongue.

"I looked different?"

"I can't tell the details as I myself haven't figured it out, but she's right." Yuuki put his hand under his chin.

I don't get what they're talking about...

"Okay, let's leave it at that. So, when did you guys leave me?"

"When you get in that shop with her of course. How can that happen, I wonder?" Yuuko asked.

Ah...

"About that... Maybe because I'm too focused..."

"Too focused? What is that... Lame." Yuuko sank on her seat.

"Well... You guys already know that, if I'm overly focused, I forget everything..."

"And that's what you need to change," Yuuki said.

"I know... But how?"

"Mmm... Trying to remember things other than the one you're currently focusing on? At least that's the solution I can give."

"I'll try..."

It's still my own fault after all.

Long story short, the drink I ordered before, finnaly arrived.

"Yuuto, you sure really like that drink." Yuuki pointed at my drink.

"Yeah, sure am. Moreover, I can get two benefits from this drink."

"Hee... Is that so?" Yuuko asked playfully.

"Coffee gives me energy so I can stay awake and milk supports my growth. At least that's what I know."

"You're a practical person, aren't you?" Yuuki chuckled.

"If something offers you an easy path, why choose the hard path?" I sipped my drink after saying that.

Mmm... Delicious as always.

Maybe I can come here by myself again if I have free time.

But going here after school isn't possible though... The directions are against each other.

If I turn right to go home, I need to go straight to get to the city park and walk for several more minutes to arrive here.

Well, I think I can go here again. If I have spare time.

"By the way, that makes me wonder. What were you doing with her before?" Yuuki asked.

"Mmm... Not much, really. Some things happened like I'm helping her buy flowers."

"Eh? You know about flowers?"

"Of course not. I just picked the one I think is the prettiest and recommended it to her as she said she still hasn't been having those flowers."

"Hee~ Never I thought you could fit that role." Yuuko said playfully.

"What role?"

Fitting that "role"? What role does she mean?

"Let me put it briefly. For a while, you played a role that's the same as my 'role'. I think that's what she means, and also, I think even though she has a maid, I don't think that maid did much either, right?" Yuuki asked.

"Eh? Oh... Even so, I don't think I fit that role."

Me being Akari's lover? There's no way. Not speaking about her disability, but I don't see a common guy like me can be her lover.

"Oh right, about that girl. Have you exchanged contact info? Or even a LIME ID?" Yuuko asked suddenly and that made me choke on my drink.

"Cough... Cough... What?!"

"Well, you said that you two are close to each other right? So I'm just wondering if you two have done that or not." Yuuko sipped her milkshake with a straw after saying that.

"No, I don't and we haven't. There's no need for it."

"Yeah, it would be weird to ask for her contact info out of the blue." Yuuki said as he understood me.

"See? Your boyfriend here understands me, why can't you?" I teased her.

"Hmph." Yuuko crossed her hands and pouted.

Yuuki laughed as he saw his girlfriend act, and I just smiled.

After that, he patted her as if trying to calm her down. Slowly she's getting calmer and suddenly hugs him.

Uh... What are these two lovebirds, they keep reminding me of my loneliness…
