Chapter 56:

Episode 56 - Ryoko and Shota’s High School Days (Part 1)

My Telekinetic Office Lady Girlfriend Is Way Too Powerful!

【A Rainy Day of Boredom】

It was a drizzly holiday, the kind where there’s no point in even thinking about going outside. Ryoko and Shota were lazing around in the living room, thoroughly bored.

That’s when Ryoko had a thought.

“Hey, Shota-kun, what were you like in high school?”

“Hmm? I was just a normal student, really. I was totally into basketball back then—chasing the ball every single day.”

“Ooh, basketball? That’s kind of cool!”

Shota grinned a little proudly.

“But still, I’ve seen you in a sailor uniform before, and you looked impossibly cute.”

“Ehehe, thanks♡”

Ryoko smiled, but then her expression turned slightly serious.

“I’ve been thinking… we’re really connected now, heart to heart, right?”

“Well, yeah, I guess so.”

“So I was wondering… if we apply the hormone trick that lets us relive memories—maybe we could actually create new ones, too. Like—”

She gave a hopeful smile.

What if we made memories of going to the same high school?

Shota blinked.

“Wait, is that… possible?”

“Technically, yeah! Well, this would be more like… a little experiment♪”

Shota thought for a moment, then clapped his hands like he’d just had a great idea.

“Well, in that case… I wanna see you in your sailor uniform again!”

“And I wanna see what you looked like as a high schooler… I really do.”

——That was the real reason Ryoko brought it up.

“So, if we were in the same school, that’d make me a senior (around 18 years old) and you a freshman (about 16), right?”

“Yep, we’re two years apart, so that adds up.”

“All right, then. Shota-kun, close your eyes. Let’s become high schoolers together!”

With that, they both closed their eyes—and gently drifted off into sleep.

【Fate in the Gymnasium】

It felt like floating.

When Ryoko opened her eyes, a familiar scene stretched out in front of her—her old high school classroom.

(Wha…? This is… my high school?)

Startled, she looked down at her hand, and sure enough, there was the sleeve of a sailor uniform she knew well.

Her third-year high school self—only now, she retained her adult memories.

(So it worked. We’re actually making our “what if we went to the same school” memory…)

She couldn’t help but smile. But at the same time, she realized something.

Her powers were limited in this form. She was still just a high schooler, and her abilities weren’t fully awakened yet. Her hormone manipulation was shaky, and her telekinesis could maybe move an eraser—if she really concentrated.

(Oh well. That’s not the point right now…)

Ryoko stood up and began walking down the nostalgic school hallway. Past the science room, the faculty office—and when she reached the gym—

“...!”

She heard the familiar bounce of a basketball.

Ryoko peeked through the gym door.

Inside was—

First-year Shota, practicing his shots with single-minded focus.

(No way… he's adorable…!!!)

Her heart skipped a beat.

His forehead was damp with sweat, his eyes fixed on the hoop with total concentration. Every time he landed a shot, he whispered a soft, satisfied “yes.”

He was smaller, slimmer, still growing—but jumping with all his might.

(Since when was he this cute…!? Like a little angel! Was Shota-kun always this hardworking?)

She clutched her chest.

This wasn’t the Shota she knew—this was the freshman Shota. Innocent, unknowing. And that made it all the more overwhelming.

(Ahh… I can’t take this… I need to hug him!!)

Before she realized it, she had started walking toward him.

“Hey, you!”

Shota froze and turned to look at her. Their eyes met—and his widened with surprise.

“Eh…?”

(Adorable!)

Ryoko couldn’t take it anymore.

Shota-kun, hug~~♡

She embraced him without hesitation.

His body fit perfectly in her arms. She inhaled the faint, fresh scent of his hair.

(Haaa~ this is dangerous… I’m in heaven…!)

But then—

“...!!!???”

Shota’s body stiffened—and in the next second, he jumped back, blushing furiously.

“Wh-wh-wh-wha… W-Who are you!?”

(Ack—)

Ryoko finally realized—this Shota didn’t know her yet.

(Oh nooooooo!!)

This version of Shota hadn’t met her. To him, this was a random senior girl hugging him out of nowhere.

Meanwhile, Shota was still stunned.

And yet, his eyes were glued to Ryoko.

(Whoa… who is this? She’s really pretty…)

But before he could process anything else, his embarrassment exploded. His face burning, he flung open the gym doors and dashed off down the hallway.

“...”

Ryoko stood frozen.

(This is bad… I totally messed up…)

In this world, Shota didn’t know her.

Which meant—

I have to win him over from scratch!?

Only now did Ryoko fully realize what kind of situation she had created for herself—and she was utterly shocked.
