Chapter 2:

The Beginning (Part 1)

So Apparently I'm Engaged to a Demoness—She's A Living Danger Magnet~!

Fuyuki walked into the room and leaped onto my bed instantly. She was clad in a black robe, which she used as an alternative to pajamas.

My eyes widened and I stared at her in disbelief. "W-What are you doing in my room, Fuyuki-san?!" I yelled, demanding an answer as I leaned away from her.

She shifted even closer, her body pressing up against mine as she wrapped her arms around my neck. "You mean our room, Sho-kun~!" She let out a playful chuckle.

I felt my whole face reddening because of being so close to her. "This room is mine, and mine alone! Don't talk like some communist!"

"Sho-kun!" She puffed out her cheeks and took my hand. "Why are you so mean to me all of a sudden? I won't do anything inappropriate to you unless you ask me to do so~!" She pouted and rolled her eyes, with her lips tight. "Why are you mad at me so much?!"

I sighed deeply and flicked her forehead with my fingers. "I'm not mad at you! I'm mad at my mother!"

"Ouch!" She squeaked and looked into my eyes with her cheeks burning in annoyance.

"Tell me, Fuyuki-san! How would you feel if your mother sold you to some demon and you found out about it after everything?" I asked, my furious voice calming down a little.

Fuyuki smirked and proudly pushed her chest out, huffing loudly. "Mwahaha~!" She laughed childishly. "Of course, I'd be happy because everyone would want to be my fiancée~!" She leaned in even closer, and our noses touched. "You just don't know what you're missing out on, Sho-kun~"

My annoyance grew as she continued rambling on about herself as if she was some gift from the Gods and I should respect that I am her fiancee. I was about to lash out at her, but she smiled softly and covered my mouth with her hand.

"Shh~! No more arguments, Shoji-kun." She whispered, her other arm wrapped around my waist as she cuddled me. "We're arguing like some old couple, yet we aren't even married..." Her lips curled into a smile. "Not yet at least~"

I looked away and pushed her hand off my mouth. I pressed the button on the lamp, turning the light off.

We lay there in silence for a couple of minutes until I finally decided to ask her something I'd been curious about for the whole time.

"Hey, Fuyuki..." I said quietly, my back turned on her.

"Yes, Sho?" She answered immediately, her warm breath hitting my neck.

"Are you fine with being engaged to someone you don't even know?" I asked softly, uncertainty and worry lingered in my voice.

Her voice dropped to a soft and kind whisper, there was not even the slightest bit of tease in it anymore.

"I didn't tell you that I'm your fiancee right away because I wanted to see what person you have become... But I never expected that we would be attacked... And never thought that you would come back and save me." She hugged me even tighter, leaning her chin on my shoulder. "I know that you're attracted to me... I saw you glancing at my breasts from time to time..."

I turned my head to the side, looking at her beautiful slightly reddened face, also blushing myself. "And I thought that I'm sneaky, haha..." I laughed awkwardly.

"I'm happy with you being my future husband. Today, you've done many things that no demon would do for me."

"Thank you." She smiled softly and planted a soft kiss on my cheek.

"And goodnight, Sho~"

***

"Nakamura!" Haruki yelled as he nudged my head, waking me up.

I raised my head and looked around, realizing that I had slept through the entire class. "What do you want, Hadeka?" I groaned, lying my cheek on a closed book.

"What's with you, Nakamura? It's the third time you fell asleep today!" He asked with a mix of worry and annoyance.

I rubbed my eyes and looked at the world beyond the classroom windows, a bright and warm world. "...I wish that I could listen to the lecture, but I haven't got any sleep..."

Haruki smirked and leaned in closer, making the decision that it was time for some teasing. "Oi~ Didn't you leave the school with Hoshizuki-san yesterday?" He poked the top of my head. "Don't tell me that you actually got some play~?"

I couldn't help but smile hungrily as I thought about why I couldn't sleep the entire night.

The truth is that no matter how far I pushed Fuyuki away, she always crawled back and cuddled me like a pillow.

The feeling of her large breasts pressing up against my back still lingered because it was one of the best things I've ever experienced, tho I couldn't tell Haruki, because no one should know that Fuyuki lives at my place.

Fuyuki walked up to the desk and tilted her head to the side curiously. "Are you two talking about me?" She asked cutely. "I swear that you mentioned my name, Hadeka-san." She smiled softly, eager to hear what was going on.

Haruki turned around and looked up at her, smiling awkwardly as she towered over him.

"No! No! Of course not! I was just wondering why our mutual friend Shoji didn't sleep the whole night!" He said, trying to dig himself out.

I didn't even bother raising my head, only thinking about sleeping right now.

"Oh~!" Fuyuki covered her mouth with her hand and chuckled playfully. "Sho-kun spent the whole night pushing me so hard! It was the cutest thing ever, I swear~!"

Haruki's eyes narrowed in disbelief. He grabbed me by the shoulder and pushed me into a sitting position. "S-Shoji!? Did you... Did you really...?!"

As I looked up at Fuyuki, I could immediately tell that she wanted something. "What's up, Fuyuki-san?"

She sat down on the edge of my desk with her legs crossed and looked away, embarrassed that she needed to ask for such a stupid request. "I got a notification on my phone saying that my books have arrived at the school's library-"

I smirked and cut her off. "And you don't know where the library is~"

She nodded softly and clapped her hands together. "Exactly. That's why you will show me where it is and carry them books for me~!"

"I am not a slave." I rolled my eyes mockingly.

"You can always become one." She fought back, leaning in closer to me.

I glanced at Haruki and then back at her, still speaking in a mocking tone. "You see, Fuyuki-san, I cannot help you right now, as I'm talking with my friend."

"No, no, no." Fuyuki shook her head, and a smirk widened on her face as she looked at him. "Hadeka-san will let Sho go and carry my books for me, right?"

Haruki was still dumbfounded by what he had heard earlier.

He noticed that she was staring at him and shook it, waving his hands in front of her. "Of course he can go, Hoshizuki-san! At least Nakamura will do something other than sleep all day!"

"I already like you, Hadeka-san." She winked playfully.

"Haruki...!" I growled, annoyed by him constantly trying to make me walk uphill.

He leaned over the desk towards me and started whispering nonsense. "Yesterday, you've spent the whole day yapping about how beautiful the new girl is, and now you try so hard to brush her off! It's nonsense!" Haruki clearly tried to get some sense in me, unaware of the other things.

"You don't know the full story, Hadeka! How would you feel like after being sold by your mother, huh?!" I whispered back at him following with a heavy sigh.

Haruki grimaced in confusion caused by the sudden question that to him had no sense at all.

I stood up and looked back at Fuyuki who was looking around the class, respecting that we wanted some privacy. "Let's go, Fuyuki-san."

Fuyuki hopped off the desk and took my hand, already dragging me out of the classroom with a cheerful smile. "Let's goooo~!" She yelled with joy, drawing the attention of our classmates.

As soon as we left the classroom, the class president— Fujimoto Ayaka, turned her head towards Haruki. "Hadeka-kun, have the new girl and Nakamura known each other before she transferred here?" The brown eyes which were behind her rounded glasses stared at him with undeniable interest.

Her brown hair was neat, reaching her shoulders. It was styled with side bangs and pulled into a high ponytail.

Haruki shot her a calm smile and shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know! Talking to them both at the same time is making my brain melt, haha!"

He then grabbed his chin in wonder, thinking about how fascinated I was with Fuyuki yesterday. "Tho I don't think that Shoji knew her. Why are you asking anyway?"

Ayaka leaned her chin on her hand, looking at him in wonder. "I like the new girl, just like the rest of the class... Tho she seems kinda weird... She always engages in a conversation when someone else walks up to her, but I didn't see her walking up to anyone by herself, anyone other than Nakamura-san."

Haruki stared at her for a longer moment, thinking about everything I said earlier. "I'm almost sure that..." His voice dropped to a whisper as he didn't want anyone to hear anything. "...But before I tell you, Fujimoto-san, I want you to promise that you won't tell anyone else..."

"I promise," Ayaka said firmly. She wasn't the type of person who couldn't keep a promise, otherwise she wouldn't ever be chosen as the president of our class.

Haruki smiled and took a deep sigh, feeling bad talking about this matter. "Well... It's their lives so talking about that is weird... But Hoshizuki-san mentioned that Shoji was..." He coughed, adjusting his voice. "Ekhem... 'Pushing her hard the whole night' and I think that we both know what it could mean."

A slight blush ran up Ayaka's cheeks, and she looked away, breaking her firm and collected composure. "Hadeka-kun...! She must've meant something different! You just misunderstood!" She whispered back with a flustered look on her face.

Haruki leaned away and chuckled mischievously. "It's the first time in my life seeing you so red, Fujimoto-san~"

Ayaka looked away, fidgeting with her fingers in embarrassment. "I am not red! It's just hot in this classroom and I haven't eaten anything today!" Her eyes fell to the ground.

***

"You're moving like a snail, Shoo~!" Fuyuki sighed deeply as we walked down the crowded hallways.

I pushed through the crowds with an annoyed scowl on my face. The crowd was endless, and I didn't know why.

"It's not my fault Fuyuki-san! I swear to God that the hallway was never this crowded since I started studying here!" I groaned, pulling her hand.

Fuyuki's eyes narrowed as a great idea popped up in her head. "I know a way that will get us through easily!" She chirped, a wide smile crossing her face.

"Yeah? Enlighten me then."

Suddenly, everyone around us disappeared, and everything was slightly red. I looked at Fuyuki in surprise, immediately noticing that her ears had returned to their demonic state.

"Wait a second...! It's the same thing that happened with the Exorcist!" I yelled in amazement, looking out the window at the empty schoolyard and streets of the city.

"Fuhuhu~!" Fuyuki chuckled and pushed her chest out in pride. "I'm a genius, aren't I?"

"As much as I want to refuse, I need to nod on that! This is amazing! It's like there's nothing that can stop us!"

Then I looked back, grabbed her shoulders, and pulled her close. "I know that you're a demon, but how did you even do that?!" I asked, my eyes burning with curiosity.

Fuyuki's jaw hung open and trembled as her whole face turned crimson. "H-Hey! I'm the teaser, not y-you!" She stumbled over her own words, tho she didn't break eye contact for a single second.

She felt a lump stop in her throat while trying to shoot me her usual prideful smile. "I-I'm a demoness! Such things... A-are nothing for me — Haha!"

"Don't play with me and tell me how to do it, Fuyuki!" I shook her, my curiosity growing with each second that passed.

After taking a deep breath, she pulled my hands off her shoulders and her flustered look changed into a cheeky one. "Nothing's free, Shoji-kun~"

"Huuh~? Then what might you want from someone like me?" I started counting on my fingers. "You already have money, you're smarter than me, for sure stronger because you are a demon." I flicked her ear playfully, making her squeak.

"The only thing I can do for you is to walk home or show you around the city." I shrugged my shoulders.

She smirked widely, showing off her fangs as her whip-like tail with a heart-shaped ending started wagging to the sides. "No pushing away in bed~"

I scowled and shook my head. "Hell no!"

She leaned in closer, pressing her chest against me and sticking out her butt cutely. "Do you really not want to learn how to do it, Sho~?"

"I don't care anymore! Not under such condition!" I yelled.

"Oh, you're so silly, I swear~! I am so kind to give you a choice, and yet you still reject something that wouldn't hurt you." She tapped my chest a couple of times with her long fingernails.

"What are you talking about~?" I burst out laughing. "I know that I was sold to become your fiancee, but there was nothing about being your possession~" I poked her nose, looking at her pitifully as I thought how wrong she was.

"Oh?" Fuyuki's eyes narrowed in confusion, but she quickly burst out laughing herself. Her tail started wagging even faster as she wiped a tear away.

"What's so funny?" I groaned.

Fuyuki stood up on her toes and wrapped her arms around my neck as her tail flicked behind her in the air.

"You are right, you are in fact my fiancée ~" She nodded mischievously. "Maybe in the beginning you were slightly down for me, but you're clearly not anymore, and I don't think that anything will ever change between the two of us."

"But I can't blame you, y'know?"

"I would also be hella mad if my mother sold me to the devil~!"

"Tho you also don't seem to know about the rest of the deal~"

She leaned away and a dark scroll appeared in her hand. She immediately held it out to my face.

"After signing this contract Nakamura Aiko's son, Nakamura Shoji will be eternally bound as the promised fiancee to Hoshizuki Fuyuki.

Upon Fuyuki's sixteenth birthday, she and Shoji will both be officially engaged to each other, and Shoji will be hers to claim.

In return, upon signing the contract, Nakamura Aiko shall immediately receive wealth which would let her live in luxury for two hundred years.

This pact is sealed in blood and will. To break it one must be allowed by Lucifer himself, or it can be taken off by gods themselves."

I stared at the scroll in disbelief. "MOM?! WHAT THE HELL IS THST SUPPOSED TO BE!?" I screamed and grabbed my hair in horror.

The scroll then disappeared, and what I saw immediately afterward was Fuyuki's smug smirk playing on her face. "See? Your eyes, your ears, your lips, your hair, your body, your clothes, your mind, your soul... You belong to me, Sho-kun~"

"Hell no-"

Fuyuki snapped her fingers, cutting me off.

Suddenly I dropped to my knees and grabbed my throat. The pain struck like a spike through my whole body without any mercy. One moment, I was just standing, then, without a warning I was on my knees in agony.

"AM I DYING?! AM I DEAD?! THERE'S NO WOUND?! WHY THE PAIN?! WHERE THE PAIN?!" My thoughts surged through my mind, only bringing more pain.

My hands gripped the air as if I was subconsciously holding onto my life as the pain ripped me apart. I couldn't scream, I couldn't cry, I could only suffer— Then everything stopped.

I coughed and tried to catch a good breath as I looked up at her with fury in my eyes. "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT, FUYUKI?!" I screamed and grabbed her leg, using it to help myself on my feet.

Fuyuki sighed deeply and crossed her arms, feeling slightly bad after doing this to me. "Sorry, Sho-kun, but that needed to be done."

I wanted to grab her by the neck, but the fear of experiencing hell again managed to keep my hands away from it.

"You... You're insane, Fuyuki-san..."

"Aahuhu~" She chuckled and softly cupped my right cheek with her left hand. "As I said before— I needed to draw a line." "I can't just let you be so full of yourself while talking to me, that's not how it works, Sho~"

"Tho I can give you one thing— Some demons I know should look up to your pride~!"

"..." I looked down at the ground, feeling shameful about fearing her.

Fuyuki caressed my cheek softly and raised my chin with her other hand, forcing me to look into her eyes.

"Sho, I can be good to you if you will be good to me." A smile widened on her face. "I am not vengeful or sadistic in any way." "I won't hurt you, I won't blackmail you."

"We can be friends, help each other, and everything like that, but you need to listen to me, at least in the important matters."

I blinked a couple of times, realizing that I was the mean and overreacting one. "Fine," Sighed in defeat. "I will not push you away if you teach me how to do it."

She removed her hand from my chin and shook my hand with it. Then, she leaned in so close that our whole bodies pressed up against each other.

"That's what I thought ~!" "But it's about time to finally visit the library!" She chirped.

***

I aimed and released the basketball, but instead of flying through the rim, it hit the backboard and flew right into Haruki's hands.

"Aww, man!" He looked at me and effortlessly scored a point without trying. "You're releasing the ball too late, Nakamura!"

I took my phone out of my pocket and checked the time— 17:31.

"It's pointless trying when no one other is with us!" I groaned catching the ball and throwing it just to miss again.

"Why didn't Hoshizuki-san come then? She's all over you constantly, Nakamura~!"

Haruki landed a point again.

"Don't even mention her when we are alone! I need a break from even thinking about her!"

The clouds in the sky started to gather, and a few drops of rain fell from the sky and hit the court.

"To think that you were the one all over her yesterday is really funny, Shoji~," He raised a brow, passing the ball to me. "Why do you want to distance yourself from her so much then? I think that she's cute and actually likes you!"

"..." I closed my eyes and aimed, then released the basketball. It spun around on the rim, but ultimately not dropping into the net. "Shit!"

Haruki walked over to the basketball hoop and picked up the ball. "Don't avoid the question." He rolled his eyes.

"Tsk, tsk— You don't know her, Haruki! She's not as good as she seems to be!"

"Where has she gone anyway? I thought you two stick together from like," "Today~?"

I watched as he scored another point and looked down at my hands in frustration.

He passed me the ball and instead of throwing it, I just ran and dunked it right into the net. "HELL YEAH!" I clenched my fist in celebration.

I picked up the ball and passed it to Haruki, thinking about his question. "Why do you keep mentioning that she's glued to me, huh?" I smirked playfully. "Are you perhaps jealous of Fuyuki-san?" "Jealous that she will steal your best friend~?"

Haruki took a step back and landed a three-pointer clean in the net. "Of course, I am~!" He laughed. "I mean!" "What will I do without my best friend who goes out with me thrice a week if I'm lucky!"

I grimaced. "Hey, hey!" I picked up the ball and walked up to him. "Now, you really sound like you're jealous." I paused for a moment. "Or maybe even slightly mad?"

Haruki frowned, looking at me with the most annoyed look I've ever seen on his face. "Are you really that stupid, or just straight-up amnesiac, Nakamura!?"

"Damn, calm down, Haruki!" I said as my eye twitched, weirded out by his behavior.

Haruki grabbed the collars of my uniform and pulled me angrily. "Think! Think what we were planning for yesterday!"

"Eeehmmm..." I looked at the basketball, then at the court, then at him— Then I finally remembered.

"Holy shit! The two-man!" I pinched the bridge of my nose. "I'm sorry! I totally forgot because of Fuyuki-san!" I was honestly feeling bad for forgetting... No... for thinking about someone else.

"Do you know how embarrassing it was to arrive there alone?! Instead of talking with Hina, they started talking to each other, completely ignoring me!" He yelled, his ears reddening at the slightest thought about that experience.

"I'm sorry! But you should've just called me! I would drop everything and arrive there with some stupid excuse that they'd believe!"

Haruki sighed and released his grip on my uniform. "I couldn't! Unlike you, I have some solidarity, and seeing you so happy with Hoshizuki-san made me unable to do so!"

He pushed his index finger into my forehead in a friendly manner. "That's why you can't mess it up! Hoshizuki-san is a great girl and she clearly wants to be with you!"

Even tho he didn't know anything, I was really moved that he wanted me to be so happy that it brought me to tears. "A-ANIKI!"

He bumped his fist into my chest softly, his face also full of manly tears running down. "I BELIEVE IN YOU, ANIKI!"

It started raining as we stood her for a longer moment, but Ayaka ran onto the court with three umbrellas just in time.

She adjusted her glasses and held the umbrellas out to us with a firm look on her face. "Nakamura-kun, Hadeka San!"

We both looked at her at the same time, not even realizing that it was raining until we saw the umbrellas.

"Oh, thank you Fujimoto-san." Haruki smiled gently as he took the umbrella.

I looked at her with suspicion and leaned in closer. "What are you doing here so late, huuuh, Fujimoto-san~?" I said as I grabbed the umbrella.

She remained calm and looked into my eyes with no signs of disturbance in her mood. "I needed to do something at my club, because unlike you, Nakamura-kun, I do something with my life."

Haruki burst out laughing and pointed at me as if I had been run over by a truck. "Hahahha~! She done you good, Nakamura~!"

***

The sun was already hidden behind the horizon, replaced by the moon. I grabbed the door handle and turned it, opening the door to my house.

"I'm back!" I yelled as I took off my shoes and placed them on the shoe shelf.

"Then come to the kitchen because dinner is ready, sweetie~!" Aiko called with a heartwarming voice, tho hearing it made me scowl as I was still mad at her.

I walked into the kitchen and saw the full team— Clad in an oversized hoodie, my sister, Sayaka, always with the nose fully in her phone; Fuyuki in her true form, finally putting on a pajama instead of a robe that showed off her boobs, drawing something in that sketchbook of hers; And my mother, Aiko of course with an apron, serving the food.

"Oh, Sho-kun~! Where were you, huh?" Fuyuki leaned her chin against her hand and patted the chair next to her. "Come on, sit down beside me~!"

My eye twitched in surprise. I couldn't believe how normal everything looked. Sayaka wasn't staring at Fuyuki, Aiko didn't say anything, and I? I was just there.

With a deep sigh, I walked towards the chair, taking Sayaka's phone away in the process.

"Sho Nii-chan! Give it back!" Sayaka screamed in anger, lunging at me.

I pinched her node and raised the phone into the air so she couldn't reach it because of how short she was. "No phones by the table, Saya."

Aiko looked at Sayaka with a lovely smile. "Your brother is right, sweetie. Sit down and don't complain."

On the other hand, Fuyuki grabbed my arm and pulled on it, forcing me to sit down by the table.

Sayaka managed to snatch the phone away and she looked at me with a pouty expression."Hmph! Go play with your girlfriend instead of bothering me, Nii-chan!"

"She's not my girlfriend!" I groaned.

Fuyuki chuckled mockingly and pressed her hand against my cheek gently. "That's right! Sho-chan is my girlfriend ~!"

After everything calmed down, only the sound of chopsticks hitting against the porcelain remained.

"So how was everyone's day~?" Aiko asked her smile still wide on her face.

Sayaka smirked and pulled a test out of nowhere, shoving it in front of Aiko's face. "Muahahaha~! I got a 98 on a math test!"

"Oh, sweetie~! I'm so proud of youuu~!"

Aiko's eyes flicked to Fuyuki who despite living in Europe for many years, didn't have the slightest amount of trouble using the chopsticks.

"What about you, Fuyuki-chan? Do you like your new school? Are your classmates good to you?"

Fuyuki looked up at Aiko, and her tail started to flick behind her. "The school is a good school, I won't lie, tho too many people are craving my attention, it's slightly annoying, Mother."

"M-Mother?!" I yelled in my thoughts and looked at Fuyuki in disbelief

"Did you get your books already~?" Aiko asked gently.

Fuyuki nodded. "Yes, I did," Then, she glanced at me for a brief second. "Tho Shoji wouldn't even offer to carry them for me, and I needed to carry them home alone."

Aiko gasped and looked at me with a disappointed look on her face. "Shoji! How could you be so cruel to not help your fiancée carry heavy books?!"

Sayaka sighed deeply and took her phone out, already knowing that a heavy argument was about to start.

"You're the last person who has the right to call someone else cruel, Mom," I said calmly, a smug look on my face.

Aiko frowned, surprised by the way I spoke to her. "Manners, Shoji! Don't speak to your mother with such a tone!"

Fuyuki smacked me on the head playfully, judging by the lack of her usual smirk, she was actually feeling bad.

"That's right, Sho-kun! Your mother is a kind and amazing person— You shouldn't speak in such a way towards her, it's very mean!"

Aiko couldn't help but smile seeing her future daughter-in-law standing up for her. "Thank you, Fuyuki-chan, you are such a lovely girl I swear~!"

I stood up, pushing my hands into the table in fury. "I will speak like that! You sold me, mom! I will never forgive you for doing that!"

"Not to even mention that even Sayaka knew that fact when it's about no one other than me!"

Aiko also got up, her face reddening in frustration. "You know that money was tight after your father had passed away!" "I didn't have any choice but to do that to give you and Sayaka a good life, Shoji!"

"Good life?!" I scowled. "Don't make me laugh!" "You sold my freedom, my dignity, my happiness and kept the truth away from me for so many years!"

"Sho-kun..." Fuyuki looked up at me, noticing the tears welling up in the corners of my eyes.

"To your room right now, Shoji!" Aiko yelled, pointing at the door. "I don't want to see you for the rest of the day!"

I clenched my fist and left the room in anger without saying a word.
