Chapter 0:

Prologue — Forgotten by the World

The Hero Who Shouldn’t Exist

They say the Hero saved the world.

They built temples in his name.
Chanted his tale in every kingdom.
Etched his glory into stone, scripture, and soul.

But they never spoke of the one who bled beside him.
The one who died first—so the Hero could live.

No statues were raised.
No songs were sung.
No prophecy remembered his name.
Because history is not truth—it's belief.
And belief is power.

I was erased.

Slain by a false Hero with a shining smile and a god's blessing.
My soul cast into the Wastes Beyond Fate—
A realm for the broken, the unchosen, the betrayed.

There, something ancient whispered to me.
It didn’t offer salvation. It offered understanding.
And then…
Power.

Not the divine kind.
Not the kind that inspires hope.
But the kind that curses gods, and rewrites myths in blood.

So go on—keep worshipping your Hero.
But remember:
Every legend has a shadow.
And I am the shadow that shouldn’t exist.
